Crossing Paths

Tendaji may not be bustling like the cities of ages past, but that doesn't mean someone can live their life without encountering someone else who is a bit...different. What is the story of you meeting a person who is going in the opposite direction. Maybe they are traveling and you meet in a cross roads, or maybe they are settling down to start a family while you're getting ready to leave. Or possibly it's someone with such a different personality it's like oil and water. This is your chance to tell us that story and what happens when you cross paths.
[ This prompt is all about crossing paths - briefly and of characters who wouldn't normally find themselves interacting with each other. Explore what happens when two people who are going in opposite directions (figuratively or literally) find themselves briefly encountering one another. We would like to see strangers meet on this one, so take some time to bring your characters out of their comfort zones. ]

It wasn’t every day that Mayra chose to leave the village, but her mother had wanted her to take a trip to Neued with her. It was where her mother had been from and she really didn’t tend to bring up her old life before the alkidike much so she felt like she couldn’t deny her that.
The had found a shady spot in one of the larger trees and rested her head back against the dark bark. There wasn’t really anything to do around here without having her training to entertain her time so instead… she just sat.

Yejide silently closed the front door to the inn and rubbed her temple. She continued to think about the alkidike hybrid she had met the week prior and just couldn’t seem to shake the thought. She had enjoyed the younger girl’s company, which was all around a surprise to her.
She had been avoiding the inn keeper because she knew that the kind older woman would pry into how their date had went, and she wasn’t quite ready to divulge that kind of information.
Instead, she decided to take a walk to clear her mind. She had only been on her stroll for a few minutes before something in the trees caught her eye. She had been on ground level, as much of Neued had transitioned to the ground with all of the incoming travelers and settlers, but one of the sturdier trees near her seemed to be moving.
