Now that it was getting closer to dinner, Ash thought that the race should happen now, that way they would have a completely empty stomach. It was also not wise to do physical activity on a full stomach. She was currently strapping up her rollerblades, laughing at Annie while she struggled to put on her helmet. Papa was the one that decided to fuss at Annie for not wearing a helmet, otherwise she would have left it off knowing her. “Annie, why don't you ask Ever for help?” She already knew what the reaction would be, but it was still fun to stir the pot.

The look on Annie’s face at that suggestion caused a blush and an almost stutter before she schooled her face, voice coming out slightly squeaky, “I! Erm….I can do it on my own, I just need to figure it out.” She frowned and mumbled something about not needing Ever’s help with anything. Sides, what the hell was Ash insinuating?! The grin on the older sister of her best friend was….Terrifying. She didn't know right?! Like, how?! The redhead shook her head and took a deep breath, nope not thinking about that right now.

Sahara frowned at the helmet on her head, who even told her Dad they were racing anyway? She never wore a helmet or pads, preferring to go without. It was dangerous for sure, but she’d been skating forever and she didn't try new stunts in places where she was likely to injure herself.

She looked at Annie and started laughing, “you’ve got the straps all messed up. You’ll never get it on like that.”

Everest got his helmet on and situated and waited for the girls to be finished getting ready. He smirked at his sister before rolling his eyes at her teasing. He ignored the comment, but Sahara’s laughing made him actually look and realize Annie really did make a mess of the helmet straps.

He sighed knowing his siblings likely wouldnt help, they wanted him to do it for their own amusement. He walked over with a sigh and pulled the helmet off her head, fixing the straps and putting it on her properly.

“Alright, can we start now. Same course as always. Two blocks up, make a right, two more blocks make a left, two more blocks, make a left, four blocks back to the house. No cheating dammit. Even thought that’s pointless to say.”

“W-wait! I-I got…” the last bit came out in the form of a squeak, blue eyes widening and then looking off to the side. Nope, she was not about to do something stupid like leaning in, nope! “E-Ever I g-got ittt…..” She almost kicked herself for sounding more whiny than the confident girl she is. Get it together Annie! This is EVEREST! You know your bestfriend’s nerdy nonchalant brother! The temptation to just push was great, but instead she grabbed her arm while holding her head down. This was only brief seconds but it felt like forever to her. Annie grumbled out a thank you when he was done, glaring at Ash and Sahara. Oooooh she was going to find a way to get them back for that one.

“Soooo we’re treating this like a cricut right? We start at your house and end at your house….Got it.” She was grateful for the instructions, hopping on her bike and meeting at the starting line.

Ashley was not about to lie when she felt amusement at her sister’s best friend. Ooooh the look on her face was priceless! If only she knew that the key to getting Annie to not be herself was to just suggest for her brother to actually do something. “Awwww Annie Ann what’s the matter? Everest got your tongue?” She skated out of the way when the redhead proceeded to try and chase her on foot. “What?! All he did was fix your heeeeeeelmet!~”

Everest nodded an acknowledgement of her thank you before lining up with his siblings. He was on his bike and somehow, he was still likely going to lose. It was honestly ridiculous. “Cut it out Ash, stop teasing. You’re supposed to be the adult.”

He got on his bike and smirked for saying quickly and in one string, “on your mark …. Getsetgo!”

He took off pedaling right into the lead because of his little quick start. He barely gave them time to get ready.

Sahara was honestly surprised that her brother actually helped Annie, but then again, he was the nicest of the three of them. She raised a brow at him, but hopped on her skateboard and waited for everyone else to line up.

Ash was really messing with Annie today and Sahara was surprised Everest was being so cordial when he said Annie weirded him out. She guessed though it was because Ash was being an a**.

“Enough chit chat, let’s race.”

She frowned when Ever decided to start the race so quickly. “You a**, you said no cheating,” she shouted as she took off, kicking and pushing before she glided on the board. She didn't mind if the other’s got in front of her because she was going to take a short cut anyway.

Well she supposed she could stop with the teasing, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to try later. Ashley was not surprised when Ever thought that he could get a headstart, taking off after her sister. She could use MOST of the shortcuts that Sahara did, which will place her in second. There should be some sort of prize at the end of the race, Ash began thinking of some things while rollerblading. Maybe papa would let Annie stay for a sleepover? That would be nice~

Annie almost had Ashley till she took off.

“Oh got damn it!” She quickly picked up her bike and hopped on it, trying to catch up to the siblings that she felt were at an unfair advantage. Her blue eyes were following Sahara and Ashley till they disappeared. Wait what!? Why was everyone cheating?!?!? There was a head of purple coming into view so she focused on at least maybe beating Ever.

Everest knew as soon as he sister decided to hang back a bit, that she was going to cheat and of course she disappeared. He wasn’t going to follow her, he had his own paths he could take. Ash disappeared too and he shook his head before turning and looking at Annie pedalling behind him, trying to catch him.

He flashed her a grin, “no ma’am he called before cutting between to houses and taking a path through a bit of woods. It would put him out further up than if he just followed the street and maybe even drop him out in front of his sisters.

His bike handled the round jaggy path well enough and he ignored the bumpiness continuing on.

As soon as the opportunity presented itself, Sahara jumped a bush and cut across someone's patio, she took a small path that went behind a few houses and jumped another bush. She didn't pay attention to whether she was being followed. Sahara loved to skateboard so her focus was a little single minded. She pushed as hard as she could, gliding at pretty high speeds and barely slowing down to cut corners. It was thrilling and she loved the adrenal rush.

She made it to the street she needed to be on and skated right up the middle, forgoing the sidewalk and trying to keep her momentum going. She wanted the momentum for the incline back, she was going to speed her way right to victory.

Ash lost Sahara as soon as she started pushing harder, which caused her to go faster as well, catching back up to her little sister. The key to winning second was to follow the leader, this being her sister. Pretty soon she was in the zone as well, leaping and hopping through bushes with a wild grin on her face. Gliding around the corner, she could see the finish line approaching, so she pushed herself even harder. “Victoryyyyyyyyyy!” Just a little bit longer and she would be in a close second after her sister.

Just when she thought that she would catch Ever, he too took a shortcut.

What?!!?!?

Were they all just committing to cheating now?!

Annie gritted her teeth and stood up on her bike to start power driving. If she was going to lose she damned well better be close! This was soooo not cool!

Everest didn't see his sister’s as he came out of this shortcut, so he looked behind him and grinned. The shortcut put him out in front as he predicted, but as they rounded the last bend to head back toward the house he knew he had to focus. He couldn't do too fast because the ride was uneven in a few spots and he didn't want to risk flipping his bike over, still he pushed his pedals to get a bit more distance between him and the girls. He decided not to gloat about his lead though because the home stretch is usually where Sahara had the edge even though he was on a bike.

Sahara glared when she saw her brother come out in front of them, cutting the corner hard and watching as he tried to put some distance between them. She pushed repeatedly now that they were in the home stretch continuing to gain momentum. She had no intention of slowing down. Instead she used the street's incline to her advantage and shifted her stance and weight, getting low and leaning forward some to increase her speed and create less resistance.

She smirked as she got closer to her brother, closer and closer until she passed him calling out. “On your left!”

Ash already knew it was going to be close, which was why she decided to follow her sister’s lead. Now she wasn't too clear on whether rollerblades could beat a bike but she was definitely willing to find out. She lowered herself into an almost crouch while almost catching up to her little brother. Now Ashley had a feeling she was about to come in AFTER and not BEFORE Ever since she was close enough to almost grab the back of his shirt, and yet…He proved to be just that little bit faster than her.

At least she had Annie beat.

By the time she did manage to catch up, Annie was grinding her teeth in agitation. Really!?!! With a sigh she settled for the fact that she would be in last place, something that just…UGH! Ash was right there, if she could just pass her then at least she could shove it in her face, but noooooooooo, that wasn't to be the case.

Sahara skirted into the driveway spinning to face her sibling and her best friend and grin at her triumph having won yet another race. She kicked the board into her hand and turned as her Dad appeared in the doorway. He started to call them for dinner, but obviously saw they were right there.

“Papa I won, smoked them again,” she spouted in french before heading into the house shouting. “Dinner’s ready, the winner gets the best seat. That’s me.”

She stuck her tongue out at the other’s before disappearing from view.

Ever pulled into the driveway next, moving quickly out of the way to avoid a collision with his sister who was too damn close to him, but he still beat her. He smirked at her and gave a bow before heading into the house after his sister, trying to duck his father ruffling his hair.

“I’m not five anymore,” he spouted in french, but made no more complaints about it.

“Sahara you a**, you only won because you cheat …,” he paused hearing his father warn him his cursing, “sorry papa!”

Welp, she called it.

Ash came into the house cracking up when her siblings started fussing at each other. “We all cheated to be honest. Poor Annie didn't even have a chance~” Said redhead was currently coming in right behind her, slightly out of breath and looking furious. “Do you want to spend the night after dinner Annie?! Hara is going to need the companyyyyyyy.” That and she had a spur of the moment date that she wanted to get ready for. “You can paint nails, but not with my good polish please.” She would know if they decided to be sneaky. There are little tick marks on the more expensive polishes because of her sister.

Annie was about to rant and rave, but Ash threw her off with the sleepover invite. “Yeah sure.” Feigning a look of shock, she blinked her eyes at the pink haired girl before her, “What?! Ashley, why would we use your good polish?! Kind of girl do you take me for?” Of course she would use the polish and Ash could fuss her out later. Either way, she was getting her hands on the pretty forest green that she saw last time she was over. “I think the next race should be something we might all be bad at and not just one person.” Was she a sore loser? Yes. Did she care? Nope, not one bit.
