Ikaika 1
It was bright an early on a misty somewhat looking like it was going to storm at some point.
"Good morning love!" He wrapped himself around Kaiko after having snuck out and made some coffee. He loved these two part mornings so much. All the extra time spent with his mate was wonderful.
"How did we sleep last night?"

He moaned. Why always so much morning people in his people. He liked the dark, he liked the night, he liked his pillow.
He did also like the cuddling. How long could he stretch it out though? However long they could go without coffee he supposed.
"Good morning sir hotness." He rolled and kissed his mate with great affection. Then curled back up in a burrito. "Its cold."

Kaiko usually woke up a bit reluctantly, so he curled around his mate's back and kept it warm while Kaiko woke up slowly. Ikaika just stroked his hand soothingly over his stomach and they lay there in bliss for a while, but eventually the smell of the coffee permeated their room.
"Do you smell that Kaiko?" He asked nuzzling up his mates neck. "It's coffee, and you know coffee means breakfast, arn't you.. hungry?"
Surest way to get your mate out of bed, bait them with food.

This was the height of luxury, it was so comfy, but the coffee did smell good and he had worked up one heck of an apetite last night. He preened. He had started this and he had ended it well. The memories made him smile delightedly before stretching and squiggling out of the comfiest bed ever.
"Alright lets get food you convinced me."

"Aye, coffee." It was always coffee that finally got Kaiko up. He strode over to wrap and arm around Kaiko's waste.
"Oh!" He paused getting a good look at the room. They had been trying for many moons now to quicken again. He had just noticed a bulge that had not been there scant summer ago. He took Kaiko's hand and placed it over his center. "It looks like we were successful." Last time Kaiko had carried the children, this time it was his joy to do so for them. He screamed and laughed and jumped up and down. Snuggling his mate and feeling like he owned the world.
"We did it." It had been quite some time.

Realization dawned on him, what he was feeling, a subtle but pronounced bump.
"Oh Ikaika! " He kissed him for what seemed like forever and jumped around with his mate. It was good to have feelings strong like this in the positive. It felt like he had almost forgotten how to get this excited over well, anything.
This was like winning the lottery twice. He would get another piece of Ikaika roaming this world, making it less lonely.
It felt like time was standing still.

"Breakfast is going to taste even better now that I'm eating for two* (4 lol)"
As it turned out he was quite hungry and ate them nearly out of house and home that morning.
"I guess we are going to the market today love." So began the fun part. He would no longer take jobs, they had quite enough saved plus what Ikaika brought in with his garden and his own jobs.
"Best news ever!"

"Yes shopping day!" He loved the fresh grocery shops, the best ingredients and the most of them they had at once. It was rich pickens those first days it was. He was super excited!
"I think its the big one today anyway, I was going to go for sure but now I get to go with you too."
A lot of their veggies came from the garden but they needed others for meat and such.

"Oh good the big market, sometimes things just work out. I'll have to pen out a letter for Akea too, she will want to know asap that she is finally getting a sibling." She had been nagging them and nagging them. Still nagged in fact every third letter or visit.
She will have yet another soul to come home to. Well before she officially moves out that is...or Aki could move in they wouldn't care.

They had prepared and were out the door and going with a care package for Akea, they were good Dad's. Letter meant food snacks, seeds Kaiko had found at the rare market or traded with his contacts, small shells Ikaika had found that he thought she would like and a fresh stack of paper, ink and a new quill. So she always had what she needed to write. And there would be a very large letter with caps letters he was sure coming for them.
They made it to the market without incident and sent the parcel off.
"To the veggies! You are going to be eating more of them big boy."

"Ugh, veggies." He didn't mind veggies but he always ate them last for a reason. Well potatoes were vegetables he was probably going to survive this baby diet. "Meat I need meat."
He was teasing but also hungry ...again. Hmmm.
"Were you hungry all the time with Akea?" It had been so long ago and well Kaiko had done the carrying at that point.

"Yes, yes I was, I though I had grown a hollow leg, they drain all the nutrients out of you so its a good idea to eat foods rich in the right nutrients and only give into cravings that make sense."
This would be a whole new adventure for Ikaika on this side of the coin. He smiled warmly. It was the best feeling..well the good parts of it. Labour he could find out about later. It was never pleasant.
Oddly he didn't remember too much of his own.

"Ahh, our fav vendor is here, he had those squash we like to decorate with and then eat. Squash is a vegetable. I chose it. Plus a few of the greens and some fruit and that will have to do. Keep the broccoli away from me, I had to eat way to much of it, I hate it, it hates me so that's the way its going to be."
No broccoli. Kaiko loved it, he decidedly did not.
"Better starting thinking up names."

He stacked a few more greens on the pile then looked away, he wouldn't put the broccoli on. He was a fair male. "You mostly eat the right foods don't worry too much my love."
A baby was expensive body wise to make. Therefore they required tons of nutrients and ones hormones did the hokey pokey, that part didn't seem to be affecting Ikaika though, thank the gods.
"You look good with that bump, babes." It was all he could do not to drag his hot mate home and ravish him.

The market was a huge success and they came home with all of the things they would need for the next great while. It felt good to be stocking up their new house proper for the family that would fill the halls soon. He was so incredibly pleased, one more kahikinian settling in Matori. They would have their own outpost soon, just you watch!
He hummed to himself as he sorted their piles of brown paper packages.
