The dancing…hadn’t gone as poorly as Retzian had thought that it would, sure…she was as unorganized on her feet as she was in her thoughts at the moment, but…still.
She hadn’t made a complete fool of herself…and the feeling of Dagon’s hand in her own was…
…Well. It wasn’t worth thinking about right now, so she shoved the thought into the back of her mind, resting against a park bench for a moment before she took out her tablet.
Quote: General Lopezite, this is Captain Retzian, I have need of a consultation if you have the time, I’m in Gateway Park over near the playground, I would appreciate if you could come and meet me. It’s nothing urgent but. It may be important. Thank you.
After sending the message, the Captain sat back and slouched a little against the bench and closed her eyes, her mind filled with blue hair, blue skin and the slight scent of saltwater.
How.

It didn’t take Lopezite long to arrive. His energy signature flickered on the horizon, and it took only a few seconds before he flickered closer. Once more, he disappeared and then reappeared, this time just a a few feet away from her.
“Retzian,” he greeted. He seemed to be put together and in good health, but visibly worried. Even if she’d said it was nothing urgent, the fact that she’d said it was important was enough for him.
It didn’t help that she seemed–tired? Distracted? She didn’t seem hurt, but his curiosity was piqued, and he wanted to make sure she was okay.
“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting. I was in the office.” And all too eager to get out, it seemed. Even now he seemed to shift restlessly on his feet. “How are you?”

Retzian gave a small smile and looked up. “I’m fine, just. Confused, I suppose. I hope your time at the office was good, though the speed in which you arrived does suggest otherwise.”
She couldn’t help the amused look in her eyes, but it faded after a moment. “I’m fine. Look, I just have some questions that I’m hoping that you can answer. I know that we have Senshi who have been brought over to our side of things, and I know that we can bring them over, either willingly or if they resist, unwillingly…but. Do you know if that’s the same for those that…aren’t…”
How to say this so he didn’t think she was insane. “...well. Human? There’s a senshi, her name is Dagon and she’s…not from the Earth? She claims that I’m the reincarnated form of her dead wife, and I just.”
Rubbing the bridge of her nose, Retzian finally just blurted it all out. To hell with it, if he judged her, he judged her.
“Look, to be plain, she’s a really hot fish lady, and if I’m already so ‘important’ to her, I think I could win her over pretty easily…but does it work on aliens is the question. And yes, so you’re aware I have the hots for fish people. It’s why I liked Laven so much when we first met.”
Her cheeks were red and she couldn’t meet Lopezite’s eye. Unfortunately, she hadn’t seen Lavendulan since that first meeting so nothing had gone anywhere but.

Whatever Lopeizte was expecting of this conversation, this wasn’t it. It started out normal enough, and despite his efforts to always remain supportive and understanding, the last bit was jarring enough that he looked at her for a few seconds before he was able to blink away the confusion.
“Oh. Well, I suppose–well, yes, I think it should? A Senshi’s a Senshi, no matter where they’re born. I haven’t heard of anyone from beyond Earth joining the Negaverse, but I’ve also known them to be few and far between. I don’t know that it’s been done before but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work. There’s no harm in trying. Ideally it would be best if she joined willingly, I’d be interested to hear about her life beyond Earth. But…”
He held onto his thoughts for a moment, juggled them around, sorted out what was important.
“What makes her think you’re the reincarnation of anyone? How can she tell?”
…How could they be sure it wasn’t just a trick to try and steal Retzian from the Negaverse?

Retzian hummed softly and fiddled with one of the buttons on her coat. “I hope it can, because I want her, and I hope you don’t mind me saying that. Her magic is…quite frankly, [terrifying...and I think she could be a good addition to the Negaverse. Her name is Dagon, with the sphere of dread, so I mean…why wouldn’t that go hand in hand with our goals?”
Finally she glanced back up at him, and shrugged. “She said that I look like her and remind her of this wife of hers. Then we danced. It. Well, it was nice and I would like to do it again, but I just wanted to make sure it was going to be worth my time, if she’s not able to be brought over, I’ll simply extract her starseed and be done with it.”
…Though.
Retzian wouldn't admit how much that thought made her feel sick to the stomach.

Did Dread go hand in hand with their goals? Lopezite had a more optimistic view of the Negaverse, but he nodded along with her amenably. He pondered her words for a moment, but he was naturally distrustful of Senshi. Especially ones from other worlds, and other times.
How easy would it have been to lie? Or, maybe she just saw her wife in everyone? He didn’t know; he had his doubts. But, Retzian was interested and committed, and as long as she stayed safe he wasn’t going to make any effort to burst her bubble. She knew this Dagon better than he did, and Retzian had given him no reason to doubt her.
“I think there’s a good reason to try. I can look through the Database and see if anyone’s put in any reports about it. I haven’t seen any otherworldly Senshi wearing our colors.” But then, he hadn’t even seen much of the Velencians recently, either. He spent so much time in his office or Destiny City; he probably should have spent a bit more time socializing with the rest of the Negaverse, too.
“I think you should pursue it. But I think you should be careful. The White Moon can be tricky, I don’t want you to get hurt, Retzian. She might just be trying to win you over, too. Take whatever she says with a grain of salt, but…if you think she could be important to you, I’ll do what I can to see that we can keep her safe with us. You think you can win her over?”
…Was it too risky to try? If Retzian thought she might have feelings already, could she pull her starseed now? Later? It was dangerous, but…
Lopezite trusted her. He wanted her to succeed. Wanted her to be happy, too.

“I’d appreciate that, and honestly…I know I just made Captain, but I think winning an alien senshi to our side sounds like a pretty good reason for me to make General, hm? And…don’t worry. I know I can win her over, you underestimate my powers of seduction, General, it’s not something I’ve ever flaunted with you…”
Retzian pursed her lips, and gave what was almost an apologetic smile. “No would I, no offense, but…I can win over any woman I put my mind to…and one that already looks at me like I’ve hung the stars for her? Piece of cake.”
She grinned now. “I just wanted to make sure that it was possible, that was all. If it wasn’t, I’d take care of it the other way, but…I think she’d be an asset and would be better off ours than dead. So, with your permission, I’m going to begin this mission. I will make you proud, General.”

Well, she was confident, and Lopezite respected that.
He smiled politely, professionally, and didn’t seem the least bit upset that she’d never tried to use her seductive wiles on him.
“Well, I can’t speak for Metallia or her General Sovereigns, but I think they would be impressed to see you make such strides for our cause. We can never have too many hands here to help. Just don’t get in over your head, all right? I want you to keep in touch with me about all of this. Status updates on the situation, and any useful information she might have. The usual. I know you’ll put your best effort into it though, Retzian. I believe in you. I look forward to your results.”

Retzian gave a pleased and satisfied grin. “I won’t get in over my head. It’s why I'm talking with you about it to begin with. I know that it won’t be easy and I know I’ll need assistance. I look forward to my results too, believe me.”
And with that, her grin grew almost catlike and she gave a little finger wave to Lopezite. “See you soon, General. I have some plans to make. Thank you for meeting with me.”
A small nod of the head and the Captain teleported away, eager to make a list of what she would need to do in order to really get things started.
