Location ~ by the bus stop Listening ~ Toxic Wearing ~ <3 Akyrie stepped off the bus into a city still trying to regain some semblance of normalcy after the events of the previous week. Pickings were sparse when it came to an open business, but a few stores were trying to keep providing despite it all. It was more like a street market as a lot of buildings were demolished, and prices were a little high in conjunction with relief efforts. Akyrie sighed she was waiting for her friend on the side street when she heard a small cry. Down the street a little boy stood by the rubble, his parents holding him as he cried over an injured orange tabby cat. Akyrie sighed softly and pushed off the wall making her way over to the family, a soft glow from her hands as she clasped them together. “Hey, what's the matter?” she said softly, putting her hand softly on his shoulder and looking at the cat remorsefully. “Here, it's going to be okay.“She looked up at his parents meekly with a somber smile and then took her hand from the boy's shoulder, her eyes turning a reassuring spiral of calming waves. Akyrie placed her hands on the soft cat, a charming sweet hum emanating from her a musical aura as the soft glow from her hands consumed the kitty beneath them. As the glow faded Akyrie rested back running her hands through her hair and she rocked back onto her feet and stood up. “they're good as new.” Akyrie smiled as the kitten got up meowing as it rubbed itself against the boy's leg before he picked it up and the family thanked her before moving on. Akyrie waved with a smile before looking at her hands and then her arm. The mark from Aella was warm hidden beneath her skin, it was more of a scar these days, she sighed softly putting on her headphones.

Artemis Stepped off the bus astonished, the world suddenly seemed so large. Being on the schoolgrounds so long she almost felt like she was back in Daddy's apartment. Always busy and couped up never really making time to do anything or go anywhere. Taking in the city was beautiful, aside from the rubble, the mess, the obvious signs of homelessness and disaster. Okay so maybe it wasn't as pretty as she once thought but it was still beautiful. It was still freedom. Once a car rushed past it was like a wave of reality. Normally she was secure by other means, Daddy paid bodyguards for a reason. The beauty of the city around it suddenly started becoming a harsh reality any minute someone could be awful, could be terrible, could-- 'No, nevermind that' Artemis started processing her surroundings. 'Can't be hard to find a beautiful mermaid princess in this could it' turning herself in a circle a few times she started walking, trying to pay only enough attention to the world around her as to know where every pebble, every drop of water, and every breathing creature was; just in case she had to defend herself. Who knows how people act these days, Artemis didn't know how common or uncommon it was for people to be able to make fire, or control water, or anything relating to -Beyond Human- abilities. But Daddy always encouraged her to keep hers a secret. Artemis sulking quietly stumbled onto a clear notice of Akyrie saving a poor kitten and gathering up the praise of the people, she deserved it to. "Nothing feels better than Akyries healing touch" Artemis mumbled to herself, stumbling shortly after realizing she said that out loud. 'Ahem, I'd best get control of myself. It'll be better for our date, I mean trip. Yeah Trip.' clearing her mind she straightened herself out raising her voice to call to Akyrie trying to keep herself unnoticed by the masses "Kyrie" between the voice crack and not knowing if she wanted to whisper or yell it was a butchered attempt to get her attention so she opted for the next best thing. Time to send Sparks for a little trip -- Artemis threw sparks towards Akyries feet trying to get him to glow without being too hot. Despite her best efforts he landed quite short and had to walk the rest of the way.
Location ~ by the bus stop Listening ~ Toxic Wearing ~ <3 Akyrie took one of her headphone out when she could have sworn, she heard a voice? Maybe a voice? She thought looking around fixing her skirt and hair. She caught a little blue spark out the corner of her eye. Akyrie turned suddenly to see a little Sparks billowing towards her feet. looking a little dejected? She giggles kneeling down on the balls of her feet to pick up the little ember. “Oh, hi Sparks, I don’t imagine you’re hiding Ari around here somewhere, are you?” she teased knowing Artemis couldn’t be too far off. Akyrie looked up and around again turquoise waters folded in her eyes. A grace over came her as she turned to face Artemis and waved softly to her a bright smile forcing her Dynamic eyes to close, she tilted her head to the side. “oh, there you are.” she called, making her way through the sparse crowd towards Artemis. When Akyrie reached her, she was so excited just to see her friend that she threw herself wrapping her arms around her and putting her head softly on her shoulder. “You couldn’t possibly understand how happy I am to see you. “Akyrie whispered against her friend. She had been through so much, secrets, blackmail, manipulation, fear. Artemis made that all feel so dull now that she was here. Her comfort in the girl's presence was so euphoric it made it hard for her to let her go at all, but she knew she had to. Akyrie stepped back, her crystal blue eyes fell on Artemis's pink orbs and for a second, she felt like everything was going to be okay. Akyrie turned to hold her hand out for Artemis to hold and gestured forward. “Are you ready? “How those words could both bring her joy right now and bring her back to a place when her entire world felt about to collapse. Akyrie felt a tear build up behind her eyes, and wiping it away she smiled reassuringly at her friend. “Come on there's a cute store up here I saw earlier.”

Straightening herself out Artemis stood upright as Akyrie approached, watching the soft sway of her hair and the silent echo of her steps. It was almost like a whole new person seeing her like this, almost reminding Artemis of the Akyrie she knew before. Before Artemis could make a response Akyrie was already there, without words Artemis embraced Akyrie clinging to her tightly in the moment. Somehow after all this time it felt like the first time she had a chance to be close to Akyrie. It's been a week since they saw each other but adjusting to this new life this new hazard of actually accounting for and dealing with other people. Not to mention THOSE people. Artemis scoffed under her breath before pulling back from Akyrie and returning to getting lost in a world with just the two of them. Artemis was beyond ready, at least she thought. They were supposed to be going out shopping and Artemis had heard of the disaster but looking around it didn't look much like there would be any store worth visiting much less one with clothes she would deem fit for Akyrie. Reaching out for Akyrie's hand Artemis smiled at her "I am ready to go wherever you want to take me; my prin-- uhhh Bestie?" she giggled as her face turned to blush adjusting to the more comedic thought of Akyrie seeming shy about her prestige. "But, I don't know if there's anything around, unless we're going to a store to pick up different colours of grey rocks?" Artemis looked around trying to see a botique or really anything that stood out to her as fashion. "Either way I trust your judgement, so take me away" Artemis adjusted herself clinging closer to Akyrie looking forward to their next destination her mind lost in thought 'She's been kinda leading me everywhere lately, I think I should find somewhere to take her soon. Returning the favour for babysitting me lately.'

Location ~ by the bus stop Listening ~ Toxic Wearing ~ <3 Akyrie smiled enjoying the warm hug from her fiery friend and handed sparks back before taking her hand tightly. A small laugh fell past her coral lips. before she pressed a finger against them. pressing softly along her cupid's-bow, gloss shimmering off the ridges. She made a soft hushing sound and winked at her playfully. “I like that nobody knows me up here, they treat me like a regular person with regular expectations. “She said softly with a giggle. Akyrie looked around at the rubble wrapping her other hand around Artemis’ “well I do like grey rocks, I bet there is a diamond hidden in the rough here somewhere. I'll take anything at this point.” She teased, looking down at herself she could tell people were looking she didn’t exactly fit in on the wholesome street dressed the way she was. Akyrie led her along the street looking in store windows and at street stands until she found something she thought to be promising. It wasn’t anything just a shabby little shop with a falling-off neon sign, but she saw a dress in the window that pulled her in. “come on!” Akyrie said suddenly as she hurried over to the door to hold it for Artemis

Artemis watched as Akyrie seemed so eager and excited. They have been together this whole time but now was honestly the first time she felt like they finally had time to be like they were, this was their chance to escape and be friends again. And this may be Artemis' only chance to reshape the bond they have, or at least make sure they are on the same page. Looking at Akyrie talking about her outfit as though it wasn't conservative enough in the city, looking at herself in black lace with red jewelry. In her attempt to look beautiful to anyone else she may as well look like a vampire. "You look amazing, not exactly what I would have imagined you in this morning, but honestly it's kinda cute." Artemis giggled looking up and down at the somewhat over the top outfit she was wearing. Simple colours, but somewhat intense. Despite it all Artemis actually thought it was really cute, made her face stand out more, and her very magical hair. As Akyrie excitedly jumped to the store Artemis stopped for a moment looking at the dilapidated sign and the fading colours, things looked pretty but, it doesn't look open. "Akyrie this isn't like home I don't know if we can walk in anywhere we please this place doesn't look open, despite the lights and all" Artemis tilts her head to read the sign. "But since you insist, maybe there's something in here that can bring out our eyes, or better yet something we could find that would pair? We aren't the matching type I don't think anyway." She takes a moment to imagine herself in Akyries outfit recoiling at the thought 'Cute on her, not on me. That's for sure.' Artemis hesitantly followed Akyrie inside keeping sparks close and her hands warm in case there was a problem. She wasn't gonna let anyone get in the way of their day out even if she needed to burn the town down all over again.
