When Dagon had gone, Stirling sat back on the bench she had been perched on, thinking. There was a lot to think about, mostly about just what kind of a person that Dagon really was…and if she could be trusted to know more about Stirling..about Brooklyn than she did already…but.
Luckily for her, she felt the slight twinge of another aura pop into her sensing range and then the fluffy monster marshmallow cat came into view and the Page grinned. “Took you long enough Soleiyu! I’ve been waiting here for hours. Well. Feels like hours. Say, before we get into like, youma things, what do you know about blue senshi? Like, blue fish like senshi named Dagon? Have you met her?”
Context might be helpful in this situation, but Stirling’s mind was churning quickly so…context was rather hard.
“I’ve met her before, thought she was just some crazy fish woman, but she says that she’s actually an alien? And like…she’s been around and alone for a thousand years…is that like…normal?”
The expression she wore was rather concerned, but she looked at Soleiyu with obvious trust.
If anyone would know, it would be him.

“Stirling,” Soleiyu greeted. He seemed pleased to see her and trotted over. “I’m a very busy Mauvian, I’m all over town. It’s not always easy getting from one place to another safely. But I know you haven’t been waiting for hours for me, I’m never that late.”
He pounced up onto the bench as he digested all of the information she’d given him, but it was easy enough to see that she was sincere. He appreciated that she was asking him instead of just rushing head first into anything, though, so he wanted to make sure he answered her question with due diligence.
“I’ve never met a senshi named Dagon. But. I have met Senshi who aren’t…well, human. There are a few–I don’t know how many these days–but a few that come from other worlds. They don’t all look human. I can think of a small handful that have a similar story–left alone on their homeworld. There’s often Chaos involved, but I’ve only seen it resolved once. They have to be extra careful with their identity. I don’t know what the Negaverse would do if they knew about them, or if they knew how to strengthen or tap into the Chaos on their world. It’s all a very dangerous affair–what did she say?”

“Well…I gave her a hug since she was like…invaders came and then chaos poisoned her world and she watched everyone die and survived and then got called here by some light…so that’s what she said. I told her that I’d help her get her world back, since that seems like a perfectly amazing adventure…and I want to do it…but um. Yeah. That’s about it. She’s nice. She’s run into me as…you know…me before too…scared off the negaverse girl who was trying to recruit me, I think.”
With a sigh, Stirling felt more than a little hint of shame from that mistake…it wasn’t something she was proud of…at all…and she was honestly just glad it hadn’t ended on a worse note.
“...Anyway, she’s very nice, and I hope I get to see her some more…but…this is about me now! What wonderful advice do you have for me, oh cat guru? Impart your wisdom and let me get stronger…or…or whatever.”
She forced a grin, still thinking about the stupid things she had done…and might have done if things had been different.
No wonder the boys hadn’t trusted her.

It took Soleiyu another moment to digest this information, but he considered it with the same thorough concern as he would have anything else this important. Dagon’s story sounded right, and he trusted that Stirling could tell the difference between a good and bad energy signature by now.
She’d have known if Dagon was with the Negaverse, or the Dark Mirror Court.
He could only consider that Dagon must be like Fang, or Alastor, or Daphne.
“Well, I’m glad you’re making allies. Those faraway Senshi don’t always have the same priorities as senshi on Earth, but I haven’t met one that I didn’t like.” Yet. “Well, you let her know if she needs anything, I’m here. I’ve helped other Senshi like her. The less Chaos in this universe, the better. Which means, we need to make sure you know how to fight that Chaos. Have you done any practice fights? We call them sparring. It’s good practice in a safe environment. There’s more to me that brains and beauty, I’m good at holding my own, too. Though, I don’t have the same abilities or strength as you. But you’ll have to learn to think outside the box when you’re facing your enemies, so it’s good practice.”

Stirling squinted at the cat for a moment. “...Soleiyu, I really don’t think that there’s much more to anyone than brains and beauty…if you’ve got too many muscles you lose the beauty aspect so…that’s perfectly fine to just have brains and beauty, normally the world has one or the other. Silly goose.”
The cat had confidence though, she couldn't deny that…and it was kind of neat, honestly. “No, I haven’t done any practice fights as Stirling, but I’ve done real fights as me…and the fight with the youma when I became Stirling so…are you thinking that you want to spar with me?”
…Was that legal? Fighting with a cat? But…then again…
Youma wouldn’t be like…human shaped, would they? If that was the case…maybe trying to fight something as…cat sized as Soleiyu was a good idea.
“...Because it might be a good idea, if you’re as brainy as you claim, and if you’re half as strong as you are beautiful, you’ll be a good partner!”

Soleiyu laughed as if charmed. He hopped off the bench and began to trot towards a bit of a clearing. “Come on, let’s go somewhere where we have a bit of room to practice. You know, as a Page you’ve got extra strength, so it might be worth it to try hitting some things, to try running–to push yourself to see what abilities you have. Those things will get stronger as you get more power, too. Squires are stronger than Pages, and Knights are the strongest. You won’t have magic right now, but once you get a little practice in–when you’re a Squire?”
He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and turned to face her. “Then you’ll have something new to practice with, too. But this is good for now. I think I’ll be pretty decent at dodging whatever you have to throw at me, but you don’t have to worry too much. I don’t think you can hurt me more than I can be healed, Lysithea’s got healing magic and I know a few other Senshi. Just in case. I mean, don’t try to put me in the hospital.”
He settled himself and looked up at her; he planted his feet like he was making sure he was steady. “I only have one blast of magic. I have other forms I can take, but they’ve got such big auras, it’s not worth it without being somewhere safe. I’ll show you another time, though. I want to spar with you. I’m going to try to make it atop your head, and you should make it your job to make sure I don’t, how’s that?”

“I’m down for that so long as you understand that you are allowed to get on my head in normal circumstances, in fact, I highly encourage this, so this can’t become just a way for me to insist that you not get on my head…but so long as you’re aware of this fact, let’s do it!”
It would be kind of a challenge…he was big for a cat but he was fast too, and agile…and so cute. That would be the most difficult part, honestly.
If he turned those big eyes on her, she’d be lost regardless of any good intentions.
Trying to prepare for that, Stirling squinted slightly, trying to picture the cat with dripping, nasty fangs and horrible soulless eyes…and it helped a little bit. “I’m ready! Come at me, Sol. Try your worst!” She had her arms ready to push the cat away, but hadn't summoned her hair stick, she didn't want to accidently thrust the long piece of metal into his eye...that would be awful.

Soleiyu didn’t want to hurt Brooklyn; he knew he was big and probably wouldn’t reasonably fit on her head but he liked how optimistic and eager she was.
In a normal circumstance, he might just have to see how well he fit, though.
But now was a night for training, and he was going to make sure she got the best out of it.
She looked ready to go.
He bolted towards her ankles and wove between them quickly; his tail curled around one leg as he moved but he had already bolted a few feet behind her and was skidding to a stop as he prepared to try and jump up on her back. He didn’t want to dig his claws into her, but he leapt up and pressed his paws into her to push her a bit from behind.

Brooklyn laughed, her eyes bright with the whole idea of sparring with a cat, especially one as fluffy as Soleiyu. His tail tickled her leg and she bent down trying to grab him, but he was fast. Before she even really realized it, he was on her back and making his way towards her head, so of course she straightened up quickly, hoping to fling him off.
“You cute jerk, just running at me like that. It won’t work, I won’t let you win this time! Or any time!”
Reaching up, she grabbed the veil that sat on her head and tried to swat him with it, laughing once again. Good lord. If anyone saw them right now, they’d think that she was mad.

The hat donked Soleiyu on the head, not hard enough to hurt, but hard enough for him to know he’d been caught. He scoffed in mock disgust.
He had to adjust his position; his weight was pulling him down and without digging his claw in, he’d lost the momentum from his first jump. He landed back on the ground and headbutted the back of her knee. “It will work, I’m an expert. You’ll be down in no time. You’re going to have to work on your speed and agility if you want to keep up with me.”
And, as if to prove the point, he pounced on each of her feet and then ran behind her again quickly.

Speed and agility? If she hadn’t been laughing so hard this would have been a piece of cake, but the whole situation was just too funny to take seriously. “You’re so fluffy, it’s not fair that you’re tickling me. Your fur is quite distracting, Soleiyu!”
Striling turned in a circle, lifting her feet so that she didn’t accidentally kick the mauvian, but unwilling to face the fact that she might end up stepping on him either…that…wouldn't be very nice. “How do you propose I work on that speed and agility?”
She was faster like this, Stirling knew that she was, and trying to show off that knowledge, she reached out a hand and placed it on Soleiyu’s back, flattening him. “Now what will you do?” Being taller than a cat was helpful. He was cuter, and might be more agile, but he was in her space…and she had control of that space.

Soleiyu made an indignant noise as he was pushed into the ground, and he made no effort to squirm or wriggle. He tilted his head to squint at her. “If you get dirt in my fur, you ought to brush it all out. But you’d be best not to underestimate me, Stirling. I’ve been doing this for a while.”
He dug his claw into the ground and after a moment of staying put and seemed to be bracing himself before he relaxed, and then–he twisted quickly under her hand, rolling so he was stomach up and back to the ground. He didn’t try to get up, but he did arch his back so he could reach up and–
Pressed his paw to the top of her head as he stared up at her. He was perfectly still, even his tail didn’t move.
He held his paw in place and just watched her face. Waited.

Stirling paused and snorted after a long moment, finally bursting into a laugh that shook her entire form. “Oh my god, you nerd.” Reaching down, the Page picked Soleiyu up under his armpits and just shook her head, grinning stupidly at him before she leaned forwards to kiss his nose. “You win. But next time you won’t, I’ll be sure of that.”
As his reward, she held him up so that he could climb onto her head, still grinning. “I can’t really brush it out, I don’t have a brush, but I will give you a ride since you’ve earned it. But next time…I mean. We’ll have to figure out a reward for me when I win, I can’t very well ride on your back…”
…It might be fun to try though. Wouldn’t work, but would be fun to try.

Soleiyu snorted, because nobody called him a nerd.
“I’ve got a brush, I keep it in subspace. When you’re done giving me a ride, we can take a break on a bench or something. I can’t go home dirty. You sound pretty confident that you’ll win next time, but,” he hummed. “I don’t know if you should count on it. We’ll see. But I am pretty crafty, I’m sure I can come up with something that would make a good reward.”
Although, she wouldn’t really have to win for any of that.
If he could get her something to make her life easier or keep her safer, he wasn’t going to lock it behind a win.
Especially since he still had a few tricks up his sleeve.
