Vesuvianite was slowly getting used to the Negaverse. He couldn't access or leave the realm on his own just yet, but he really liked it there. It felt... warm and safe. A little dark, but sometimes getting dark was necessary when you were saving the world, after all. Grim work had to get done. And he would do it, help in every way he could. Getting these alien invaders to retreat from their planet would be ideal, but if they had to get their starseeds taken, well. But he didn't quite want to think about that part of work right now, when really, what he desired was making friends. He didn't feel like he knew enough people yet, and he very much wanted to know a lot of people. At least have some kind of passing positive relationship with them. So he was powered up, gathering energy, and feeling out for his fellows to try and run into them. Maybe meet someone he could talk to!

Order senshi were terrible, horrible, wretched, atrocious creatures with no manners to speak of, and Andesine hated them. Honestly, until the little firestarter in Southside Park had pressed the issue by refusing to leave Andesine alone, Andesine hadn’t really done anything terribly wrong. Okay fine, grabbing the delivery boy and threatening to starseed him was not, per se, value-neutral in terms of morality? But she’d only done that because Little Miss Perfect wouldn’t go ******** off and let Andesine be.
Still, Andesine had emerged the victor. Clutching a wad of napkins from a Starbucks to her (probably broken) nose with one hand, holding her tablet in the other and trying to find someone to give her a ride to Negaspace, feeling pretty bruised in the ego department—but she’d gotten away with her payload. So much energy for one night, and she wanted so badly to take it to General Ashanite herself.
Plus, exactly like she’d known while arguing with the senshi, all the people Andesine and drained from would probably be fine come morning. If they weren’t, then it was likely from their own failures, or from some random unfortunate accident, or otherwise nothing to do with Andesine or how she had drained their energy. Making such a fuss over it when Andesine had only taken a naturally self-replenishing resource, which honestly made what she did tantamount to borrowing, rather than to theft? What a waste of time.
Ugh, trying to find a Captain or a Super Senshi was also proving to be a waste of time. Andesine had wandered several blocks from the Starbucks (which had itself been several blocks from Southside Park), and she still hadn’t managed to find a ride to Negaspace. At the feeling of another aura like her own, she perked up and headed for it—but when she got close enough, she could feel: alas, another Lieutenant, in some very cute boots and a long red jacket.
“Don’t suppose you just got brought back from Negaspace?” Andesine asked, hating the nasally tone that came out while she packed the napkins against her nose. “And can tell me where the Captain who brought you went?”
Realistically, the answer was probably “no”—but it never hurt to ask.

Vesuvianite was doing his cute little gay boy best at his new job, going out and draining energy from people—people he prayed didn't turn out to be agents. What a ******** that was, the first time he tried, but he got to meet a very cute guy out of it and get some connections in the Negaverse, so it wasn't all that bad. Just... jarring, and it left him just slightly freaked out each time he tried to go on a patrol and steal energy from people. Even without worrying about the weirdos dressed in white who wanted to take away what the Negaverse had built to protect Earth. Though, eventually, he ran into someone—someone from his side, thank goodness. Though she seemed hurt, and he made a concerned noise as she approached. "Sorry, no. All alone," they said, smiling shyly and rubbing the back of their neck. "Um. Do you want help with that? The nose? Or, like, I could maybe try to call someone on our tablets, to see if anyone's nearby that could pick you up, if you want? Can you focus okay?" They winced a bit at their own barrage of questions and hoped that Andesine was mostly okay. Because he didn't need to overwhelm the other officer. Not if he was worried she was like, hurt so bad she had brain stuff going on.

…So many questions flew at Andesine all in quick succession, and she quietly thanked something-or-other that the rancid, bullying b***h in the white fuku hadn’t hadn’t ******** up her ability to think too badly. This little guy was cute. Seemed sweet. Probably an asset to his general, whoever they were, because trying to buy that kind of genuine eagerness and interest in helping promote more team cohesion didn’t come cheap, and here this kid was, giving it away for free, to a fellow officer they’d never met before.
“It’s okay—you not having a Captain available, I mean?” Despite being in pain and not feeling particularly charitable toward most of humanity right now, Andesine tried to give the kid a reassuring smile. No reason to go being a b***h to a colleague, especially not one who was trying to help. “The nose……hurts, still? Keeping it from moving helps? Unless your weapon is a first aid kit or something, I don’t think there’s much you can do for it. At least, not immediately.”
She sighed, and then winced—not from any pain in her nose but from how sticky all of this mouth-breathing had made her teeth and tongue. The sooner she could get to medical and then drown herself in a thermos of cold water, the better. “Could you, please? Call on your tablet, I mean. …Stupid I didn’t even think of it, but ugh, the senshi I had a run-in with was so sanctimonious. It was exhausting.” With a soft huff, she slouched against the wall behind them. “…If anyone picks up and asks for a name of who needs help, I’m Andesine, under General Ashanite, Eternal Monoceros, and Captain Arsenolite.”

"Yeah, I mean, unless your nose is made out of wet clay, I doubt this plastic chisel would do much," he joked, spinning it in his hand. "Even then, it would only, well. Chisel it off." He pulled out his tablet and sent out a ping for non-emergent, but still necessary help. In a few moments, he had an answer—"Well, looks like Eternal Monoceros himself is on his way," he said cheerfully. "By the way, I'm Vesuvianite. Under, um, General Bellite. Nice to meet you, Andesine. Wanna tell me about this sanctimonious a*****e of yours while we wait on Eternal Monoceros?"

Andesine chuckled a little bit at the other lieutenant’s joke, and at the cute way he twirled his chisel. He had an endearing sort of flair around him, without being too overbearing. She liked that, she decided as she held up her free wrist.
“Ain’t that the truth about what lieutenants get kitted out with?” Letting her sleeve slip down, Andesine jingled her little bracelet of bells. “In fairness, they are silver, so I guess they might help a bit in case of a werewolf attack? But I’m still looking forward to what I might get when I earn that Captain promotion.” With a shrug, she added, “At least you can find all kinds of things to improvise into a weapon around town. Broken bottles, crowbars, hammers, shovels—depending on the neighborhood, you can find a lot of things. Pays to keep an open mind, stay aware of your surroundings, and think on your feet.”
About half of that was Andesine thinking out loud more than anything else. She supposed, though, that maybe it could help out the other lieutenant. They had to stick together after all, didn’t they? Not just within the Negaverse on the whole, but as the lowest-ranking officers. Lieutenants and basic senshi had to look out for each other because taking an approach like <******** you, I’m just here for myself and my own advancement” would only end up harming the Negaverse in the long run, and their superiors had so many other responsibilities to attend to.
Either way, Andesine sighed in relief when Vesuvianite said that Monoceros was coming for her. Ever since bringing her to Ashanite for the first time, Monoceros had been a great help and a wonderful friend. She was truly lucky to have him.
“Nice to meet you too, Vesuvianite,” she told him with as much of a smile as she could currently manage (which wasn’t much, but was still, she thought, better than scowling or anything when Vesuvianite had been so helpful). “And—ugh, the senshi? She was super level, but I can’t imagine she’s terribly important to anyone. She had that dime-a-dozen, patronizing trash attitude that you see in so many people with the White Moon. All kinds of ‘Ew, draining energy is really bad and evil’—as if we’re doing it for the kicks and not to help save the planet—and trying to gaslight me about how the White Moon really care about protecting the Earth when all they do is cause problems for those of us who do care about that and ******** off to outer space to play house on different planets that all basically died a thousand years ago.”
Rolling her eyes, Andesine huffed. “The lack of self-awareness with those people, you know? Far too much.”

Vesuvianite nodded in agreement, and then— Pop! Monoceros teleported in a few yards away, waving at them as he jogged over. "Ouch, Ande. You got a bit messed up, huh?" he teased gently, reaching out to squeeze her shoulder. "Come on, you two. I'll help get you patched up, Ande, and then I have cookies to share." Vesuvianite shook his head. "Nah, I just got out. I need to head home. But thank you. Feel better soon, Andesine," he said to her with a soft smile. "Gotta stick together, right?"

When Monoceros popped in, Andesine managed a bit more of a smile than she had before. She liked Vesuvianite, but there was just a difference between a nice, helpful coworker she’d only just met and someone who’d been her friend for months. “I did, yeah,” she said with a bit of a shrug. “Occupational hazard of mouthing off at the wrong person, I guess, even if she was in the wrong.… Thanks for coming to get me.”
It still sucked that lieutenants couldn’t teleport, but—well, if the Queen and her General-Sovereigns meant for the level-locking to motivate lieutenants and basic senshi to work hard and earn their promotions sooner? Then it was 100% working on Andesine. She wanted so much to prove herself and earn a Captain’s rank, and so help her, she was going to do it.
But not tonight, obviously. For now, she moved to Monoceros’s side and gave Vesuvianite one last smile. “Thanks again for helping me out tonight,” she said. “Take care, and hey, if you end up needing a favor or anything? Shoot me a message and I’ll see what I can do.”
