For a moment there, Zev really thought that he and Hope could have some kind of a normal date. There had been some romantic moments scattered here and there while they were on patrol (like when time literally stopped, the other night, and they got to have a cute kiss, or when they visited his planet and had a little more time for a little more than smooching while there since they would be left alone), but he really just wanted to take her out to a nice dinner and have a splendid time without having to think for even a moment about their duties. So, of course, of mcfreaking course, they just HAD to accidentally run into some stupid ******** Negaverse Agent who was draining someone. Sure, they'd at least spotted him at a distance, so they had time to duck away and power up, become Hati and Asmodeus in an instant, but they still had to go over there and deal with the guy. Some stupid Captain. And Hati was pissed. Arsenolite, for one, was having a pretty fabulous night. Sure, he hadn't been able to take revenge on those total assholes that had kidnapped Monoceros, but there was still plenty of time for that to happen. Laying in wait wasn't his strong suit, but he could do it. And the longer it went on, the easier it became. Revenge would come soon enough. Besides, Monoceros was settling back in again, after his kidnapping. Arsenolite had been worried something crazy had happened, but so far, it just seemed like Monoceros needed some time to settle into being back home. He seemed happy, and that made Arsenolite happy.
So, in lieu of getting some immediate revenge, for now, he was just out gathering energy to burn off some steam. Playing with some of the civilians. A little bit of scaring never hurt anyone, anyway. It was always fun to toy with the starseeds in their chests, even if they wouldn't remember the incident. Arsenolite would. The fear on their faces. He loved it.
Of course, now he felt two Order auras nearby, and he sighed, preparing himself for some stupid fight. Come on, man! He was just out here trying to have a good time, and he honestly felt so attacked right now! Before he was actually being attacked, even!!!

It really wasn't fair. All Hope wanted was a nice date with her nice boyfriend that didn't result in any kind of magical shenanigans. It really shouldn't have been too much to ask. Just one night. One night where they didn't have to deal with the ******** Negaverse.
Apparently, that night was not tonight.
That was fine, though. It was some Captain, and there were two of them, and she was pretty sure they'd be able to handle whatever he had to throw their way. and if they couldn't, they could always call for more backup, but for now....
"Let's wrap this up fast, hm?" She flashed Hati a very reckless, very sharp-edged smile. There would be no hesitation from her, not here. Especially not when she could see that this ******** had his hand in someone's chest. These were the worst of the worst: the kinds of officers that had no hesitation about killing people. She brought up her hand, and flung off her magic.
"Avernian Eruption!"
As far as Asmodeus was concerned, it was always time for More Fireball, and the best time to attack was when the enemy wasn't expecting it. So....light 'em up.
Perhaps that would discourage the Chaos rat in front of them, make him lett he poor civilian go, drop his energy haul, and run. Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Avernian Eruption! Sailor Asmodeus speaks the name of her attack and extends one arm towards a target within six feet, touching the fingers of the other to the inside of her elbow. She sweeps her hand forward, and a burst of flames flies from her hand. It explodes into a fireball with a radius of 8 feet, and enemies caught in it will experience the pain of second-degree burns for 30 seconds, with actual damage to exposed skin possible at player discretion. Asmodeus can use this spell twice per battle.

Hati couldn't help his own dangerous grin right back at his girlfriend. God, but she was so absolutely perfect. He wouldn't have had her any other way. He was just... so grateful that she was in his life, that she loved him (and his sister, too, he kept forgetting about that part, but that wasn't out of malice or anything, and it elated him every time to see the reminder, when they kissed, that the three of them got to share something beautiful together). "Moor Stalk," he said, focusing on the Captain with the dangerous grin still on his face sharpening. Just in case. A little extra oomph on top of his sweet, amazing girlfriend's magic. Silent fire would surely be terrifying. Arsenolite shrieked and jumped back, instinctively releasing the starseed he'd had his hand on and feeling the loss keenly. It had felt so beautiful, sitting in his hand, still in the civillian's chest, pulsing quietly with life. Felt so tender and soft and vulnerable. He'd been so close to taking it away! Furthering the Negaverse towards getting rid of these kinds of assholes like the ones attacking him! Sacrificing people for the greater goddamned good here, thank you!! ******** you!! He screamed as the pain of the fire overtook him, laying back on the ground.
But then, suddenly, he couldn't even hear the crackle of the flames, or his own screaming. Uncertain, he stopped screaming, straining to hear anything—but not even his own labored, pained breathing reached his ears.
Then.
A single bark of a dog.
Fear balled up in his gut, sitting there like a heavy rock, and he gasped, or thought he did. What the hell was this? Did they have a ******** attack dog with them? Was it going to attack? When would it attack? He tried frantically to look around, but everything hurt so much. His skin felt so raw and cracked and blistering and painful. He wasn't sure he'd ever experienced such pain in his life.
The pain and fear had him still on the ground, laying there and praying it would all pass soon enough. He couldn't even focus enough to teleport, which was another deeply frightening aspect of this moment, when all he wanted was to get away, especially before the pain doubled because of a ******** dog attack.
Heavy breathing behind him made him shriek again, and he flung himself to the side, trying to avoid the dog he was positive was there, though he did not dare to look, in case that made things so much worse for him.
The instant the pain dissolved, the magic finally ceasing, he teleported back into the Negaverse. ********. All. Of. That.
Noir Songbird hati: 295 / arse: 546 A deafening silence settles over everyone within a ten foot radius. Shortly after the silence falls, a single, deep bark echoes through the area, and suddenly every enemy within the radius feels like they are being watched by a large, dangerous creature. The silence can be disorienting; no matter how loud anything is, while the magic is in effect they cannot hear anything but the bark--and maybe the sound of something heavy breathing just behind them. Paranoia, anxiety and fear for the invisible thread are prominent for the duration of the magic, and may persist for longer if the player desires. This attack affects all enemies within ten feet and lasts for twenty five seconds; it can be used three time per battle.

It worked. Her magic, and Hati's, layered one over the other--pain and fear and the knowledge that he was being hunted by something far, far more powerful and terrifying than him, even with all the awful magic that the Negaverse placed at his disposal, had apparently been more than enough to scare off their nasty little enemy.
Too bad, honestly. Asmodeus might have liked it if he put up a little more of a fight. It was fun, sometimes, to actually really get into ti with her enemies, to trade blows back and forth. But this time....this time he was gone.
She approached the civilian he'd left behind, carefully checking his pulse--he'd fainted dead away, probably from the fear and the trauma of having his starseed pulled, but.
"He's alive," Asmodeus said, and she carefully scooped the civilian up and set him on a bench. "And he'll probably be fine. Just a bad fright, but I don't think he fell far enough to risk a concussion."
But, still. The risk wasn't entirely absent.
She sighed, and let go of her powered form, shaking her head. "Let me call 911, get some emergency services on their way, and then let's get gone before anyone actually gets here and we have to answer any annoying questions, yeah?"
She dialed 911, let the operator know where they were and that there was someone unconscious on a bench, and then hung up.
"There. Civic responsibility appropriately handled." She juggled her phone from one hand to the other, and then shoved ti back in the pocket of her cute skirt, and she flashed Hati a smile.
Let's get out of here. Find somewhere nicer to spend the rest of our night. Preferably with a lot fewer Negaverse rats."

Hati grinned a wolfish grin as their magic worked together, layering down upon the Captain to bring him to his downfall—for now. He hoped that scared the horrible man off of being around for a few nights, at least. Maybe a little unsure if he was still being hunted or not. Hati would love that, if that happened. Ah well. He'd never know. It didn't matter much, as long as it made the Captain think twice about messing with him or his girlfriend. Still, the thought made him quite happy, to think about the rotten Captain going around for the next few days, startled by every little dog bark, always looking over his shoulder for the ghost that would never come. He helped Asmodeus carry the poor civilian over to the bench and also powered down, yawning a bit. Fighting was tiring, when one just wanted to have a good damned date night for once. Hope seemed to think it was still salvageable, so Zev smiled back at her and took her hand in his again, rubbing his thumb against the back of her hand. "Hopefully with a lot less rats," he said pleasantly. "I'd really like to spend the rest of the night doing nothing with you."
