Winter was always cold, this year was no exception. Even for Kom el Shoqafa, bundled up as he was typically, it certainly stung a bit. Hardly the worst, but not something most people would be out in, especially as the moon rose in the sky. Just because most people would be tucked away at home didn't mean that he could do so, not yet. While the master's away, the mice will play -- that was the saying, wasn't it? Either way, with less people out in general, the more desperate the darker sorts surely would be. Thus, while he kept his head down a bit low to keep less of his face, his neck exposed, otherwise he was rather visibly alert, looking, listening, waiting, waiting-- --until he heard it. What was it? He wasn't sure, it could've been any number of things, but anything that wasn't simply the sound of feet on the cold, cold ground was note worthy, head turned and moving quickly on his feet. It wasn't dangerous to be out, after all, just cold. "What's going on over there?" His voice was raised, and surely whatever it was was none of his business, but...well. Even if he wasn't looking out for danger, for trouble, he was nosy. Something that would surely cause his downfall someday. Hopefully just not today...

Asuka didn't exactly like being out in the middle of winter, but at least her fuku was pretty warm. She pulled it tight around herself and ventured out with her mirrorwraith, and she let it flit around, sipping energy from anyone they happened to run across.
It was late, and cold, and most people didn't even look at her twice, when they had somewhere to be. Especially since this was a nice neighborhood, and she passed well enough for belonging here. The tatters of her fuku were hidden by the night, and she was too polite and smiley to trip most people's "she doesn't belong here" buttons.
Still, she couldn't stay forever, and she turned down an alleyway that she knew would cut her throguh, and she felt an aura nearby. Order. Troublesome.
She picked up her pace--which was what made her trip, and slam into a garbage can with a clatter, and then she heard probably-the-owner-of-the-aura call uot to her.
"Ah, nothing, nothing, no big deal, really, haha!"

Polite. Even perhaps...innocent. That was not the response he expected to hear, nor the sort of voice that he would hear, still moving towards the sound until he could see. Of course, he didn't need to see properly to know this wasn't an Order senshi. Or Order anything, really, but there was a bit of a jarring feeling -- what he saw didn't seem to match what he had expected, and he didn't like it... "Since when does Chaos have illusions?" Normally, he would try to reach a hand out to help someone up, but... This was Chaos. They might not be directly opposed to each other, but he had to be alert, had to keep a close eye on her, taking a step back to give her room to collect herself but nothing more. "Surely there's no reason for you to be out this late, either. It's cold." ...well, he tried to be alert, but concern still slipped into his voice, posture relaxing ever so slightly. "No one out to prey on tonight. Go home. Better to wait, right?"

"Huh?" Asuka blinked up at him, and flailed into standing up. Okay, at least they were on roughly the same level, magical power-wise. That was better than running into someone way more dangerous than her, who might take offense to her....existing while Chaos. Or something, she didn't know, people seemed to get angry for stupid reasons in this dumb war.
At least he hadn't actually seen her draining energy, and her mirrorwraith was safely in its shard and hiding in her bracer. So they probably wouldn't end up fighting, or fighting too much.
"What illusions? I'm just me, right here," she said, spreading her arms wide. "Never met a Dark Mirror before?"
Maybe he hadn't. Oh, wow,t hat made her some kind of ambassador, didn't it. Ah, s**t.
"Anyway, I'm not preying on anybody, just borrowing a little energy," and she totally should not have admitted to that, oops, "but I was pretty much done anyway, so yeah, if you'll just let me be on my way, we can pretend you totally didn't see me right after I crashed into a trash can because I wasn't watching where I was going."
She waved, and started looking for an exit.
Not that there was an easy one forthcoming, except for yeeting herself at the nearby fire escape, which sure would get her out of this, probably.

He stayed a short distance away, still in the alleyway but close, taking in a slow, deep breath before stepping aside – still directly in front of her, or well, somewhat in front of her, but now there was space beside him that she could flee in, if she chose. “I have. And I’ve met Negaverse. Truthfully, I think I’d prefer your lot over theirs,” he admitted, still somewhat tense, alert, arms now crossed, eyes looking past her into the darkness of the alley, as if making sure there was no one else there. “I’ve seen a lot more in the past few months than I ever thought I would. There’s all sorts out there. Just…get yourself home, kid. And reconsider your alliances. I’m sure there’s better things to do, better places to be out there…”

Wasn't that always the way? People had such terrible opinions of the Negaverse--ugh, clearly they'd just never met anyone like Tristan. Or her girlfriend, who was probably also totally cool, since she was dating someone as amazing as Tristan.
Whatever, whatever. He wasn't attacking her, and she had plenty of room to get out of there.
"Oh, yeah, we're totally chill, just drain a little energy and then go back to our sweet space between spaces on the other side of the mirror. No reason to ever want to pick a fight with us, we're just out here living our lives. Anyway, thanks for checking on me, bye, have a good night!"
And then, Asuka bolted past him and hoped that there was a mirror nearby she could dive into. Better to just....get out of here and go home, she figured. No need to hang around when he might decide to cause trouble at any point.
