Prompt 7 (Mysterious Mail): The mail is always bad this time of year, but it seems like something's gone a little extra wrong. You’ve received something that’s not quite right. Maybe it’s a box that looks like it’s from a completely different era, wrapped in brown paper and tied with dark twine. The box has scuffs and scrapes and a yellowed name tag--with your name and address on it. There is no return address and no indication where it came from. If you open it up you will find some sort of timeless item that feels as though it is easily decades old. It may not be particularly valuable, but this item seems to have been lost to time--and somehow ended up in your possession. Any time you look at it you are filled with the same sensation of timelessness.
Maybe it’s an old letter with no return address, no name on it; it's impossible to tell who it is from or how it got there, given that it might have arrived in your mailbox, your front door, or maybe it even just showed up inside your house. If you open it, the letter is dated from decades ago and contains some surprising information; it is a letter lost to time and contains some secret. The content of the letter is up to the player; it might contain a confession of love, an admission of guilt, the secret of some crime--no matter what the letter contains, it leaves you with news to reflect on. Do you try to seek out anyone mentioned in the letter? Do you investigate or try to hand the letter over to someone else? Does the content of the letter reflect your life in some way? ...Do you have to worry about someone breaking into your house to leave strangely coded messages?
Maybe you’ve gotten both and really need to phone up the post office to see what’s going on.

Demetrius had almost had enough of all this studying he had been doing. The studying was literally driving him nuts and these books were all blending together no matter how many different studying methods he used. Just as he was closing the final book he needed for his exam he heard a knock on his dorm room door. "That's weird I'm not expecting anyone or anything today," he said as he arose from his desk chair put on his house slippers and headed towards the door. As he opened the door he looked around and no one was around but then he looked towards his doormat and there it was. A box from a completely different era, wrapped in brown paper and tied with dark twine but tied carefully. He could tell whoever wrapped this box they did it with so much love and care. Not only that but he noticed the postmark and it was sent such a long time ago. He carefully picked up the box and examined it for anything he could use to find the rightful owner. After all this box had a destination and it wasn't his doorstep.
As he held the box in his hand he walked inside, closing the door behind him, he took the box and set it on the dinner table. He took a few moments looking around the box but sadly there were no outside features that could help him discern who this box was meant for. He hated the idea of opening this precious box but maybe just maybe the item inside could help him find the owner who this belonged too. He promised himself he would be super careful with the box and as soon as he found out who it was meant for. He was going to wrap this box u like it was the moment it landed on his doorstep. That way the receiver could open the gift like it was the first time it was being opened.
First he gently untied the old ribbon and placed it next to the box. Luckily he hadn't torn anything yet and now came the hard part. He quickly went to the bottom of the box and gently tore the tape away from the bottom of the box where the tape was holding it together. He placed the wrapping paper beside the box folded neatly and then cut the inside box on the top. He cut it gently and pulled the cardboard folds of the box to the sides. As he opened it, he looked inside and what he saw surprised him. There was a very old wooden box engraved 'I've never forgotten' with some initials engraved on the top O.W. and A.J. with a heart surrounding them. He could tell whoever had this box made, really loved the person it was meant for. Since who starts a gift with I never forgot unless they were that important that you had to make sure they knew that. After all remembering someone is one of the hardest parts sometimes, especially if it were a lost love.
