Prompt 9 (The Snowmen) : Destiny City has no shortage of creatives looking to take advantage of the snowfall, so the snowmen popping up around the city are not so surprising, themselves. It’s how often you keep seeing the same snowman. Maybe someone’s making identical snowmen across the city, but there’s just something off about it. Sometimes the same snowman will be facing a different direction than when you last looked at it, or maybe it’s moved altogether. Sometimes in what seems like the blink of an eye. It never moves while you’re watching it, but when your eyes aren’t on it, there’s no telling what might happen. It could be someone playing a prank on you, but why? And how are they getting away with it? The snowmen can’t be moving on their own, right? It doesn’t help that when the weather warms a bit and they begin to melt, they morph into hideous, frightening monstrosities. Somehow, even those seem to be stalking you, right until they completely melt and disappear.

There was something in her brain that was telling her the entire situation was silly, that she should just go back to her house and onto her computers and go back into the digital side of things. But she couldn’t get them out of her head. Somehow, she could have sworn that she was seeing the same snowman all over town. It was as though the movie Jack Frost was real and had decided to specifically haunt her.

Or perhaps it was some sort of snowman looking Youma that had escaped the Negaverse and was wandering around without any identifying energy? She didn’t think it would be possible for that to happen but considering all the weird things that went on during the holidays, it was very possible that something as strange as this could happen. Without any Agents knowing.

She was more annoyed that it was happening to her more than anything, which is why she had found herself on another rooftop, sitting next to a heated vent, attempting to keep her fingers warm as she typed away on her laptop in an attempt to hack the outside cameras of all of these buildings and see if they could be trained to check how the snowman was moving, when it was happening, etc.

And she needed another cup of coffee. Hers had run out long ago, but she had been too determined to stay put to go and get another one. She could feel herself starting to shiver and moved her fingers over the vent once again to stay warm. While her outfit was quite warm, that didn’t mean that her fingers kept all of the warmth. It decided to head into her chest and so she was stuck having to move her fingers to the vent every few minutes so she could feel them again.

And if it wasn’t for the darn snowman she wouldn’t be out here at all! It was as though someone was mocking her and if she did find out it was another Agent then there would be hell to pay. But for now, she needed to be close enough to the buildings that she wanted to hack. Partly because it didn’t take as much time for the signals to go through, but also so that she could see the snowman moving herself if she was out and about. Currently the snowman was on a corner of a building that had left all of it’s snow in the front so that it looked quite out of place. She was sure she wasn’t the only one who saw it, but to be the only one who saw it in multiple places? Perhaps a prank was being played, someone was just creating the same snowman over and over. But to be so dedicated and to change how it faced and the expression every time she saw it as well? That was some silent Angel s*** that she did not want to deal with.

Eventually she managed to hack all of the outside cameras so she could see the feeds as well and had 5 of them looking at the snowman. Now she could rest knowing that if it moved, it would all be caught on camera. And she wouldn’t have to go outside again until Spring.
