“Apa,” Lyle shouted, holding up the ornament.
“I can’t believe he will be two in just a few short hours. I can feel the post party exhaustion and we haven't even started.”
She started laughing “I can’t believe I got married and had children. I never imagined this would be my life, and two kids at that. You changed my whole trajectory, sir, but that's okay. I wouldn't trade you three for anything in the world …. Lyle baby, are you ready for your birthday?”
----
Damien was trying to get some of the decorations to sit just right on the tree they just bought, his oldest son’s energy amazing him as always. Despite his height, he still needed to be on a step stool [the first step mind you], just to reach the top. When he heard Lyle calling for him, he stepped down, kissing the top of his head in thanks, wild red curls making him smile. “Thank you moye sokrovishche~ This is a good one. Go get me another yeah?” He carefully fixed the ornament in place, nodding in agreement.
“I swear he was just as small as his brother a week ago~” at the thought of a birthday party he winced just a little, “You mean the combination of monsters running around the house causing mayhem is going to be murder.” Especially when the cousins came around….Lu and Lyle are such a destructive combo.
He winked at his wife, “You're not the only one moya lyubimaya zhena, trust me.” If it wasn't for him meeting Rose he was sure he would be full time in Italy, not committing to anything but his father’s winery. Not that he didn't mind working when Romeo called him, having a wife as beautiful as Rose was just….Not something that happened all the time. She was a rare treasure that he intended to hoard like the dragon he is. Now that he had two sons that hoarding was increased twofold.
----
Rose smiled at her husband and laughed lightly when Lyle decided to try to put the next ornament up himself. “You might want to get our son before he falls and we have to go to the emergency room for his birthday.”
She was calm pointing and not wanting to startle her son, sure he would fall if she did, as he stood on his tippy toes atop the stool, with his little tongue out trying to get the ornament on the tree. She was surprised, he wasn't trying to demolish the tree, but his excitement to get it decorated meant he wasn’t playing with the tree.
She looked down at her sleeping son, tapping his little nose and she had to admit that she wouldn’t mind another. “You think we should try for a little girl,” she asked still looking at her 4 month old son.
She knew the party was going to be a lot, but honestly they were always doing parties with the group now being 14 kids in now, at least they had all hands on deck to help with the kids. Even the exhaustion of all the littles running about did make her not want another.
----
Damien shook his head and quickly swept Lyle up into his arms, “Buddy you should ask Apa for help… Where are we trying to put the decoration?” Lyle squeaked and whimpered, “Apa I do eet myselfs!” When Damien placed him on his shoulders, he quickly forgot the streak of independence, “Mommy! I up so high! Apa higher!” Damien went to his tip toes, Lyle placing the ornament in a pretty strategic place. “I deeed it! Mommy look!” he tapped Damien’s head, “Down please!” Damien picked him up and set him down, Lyle jumping and clapping.
“Little girl huh? Maybe….Should probably wait for mini me number two to be a bit bigger.
----
Rose looked up when Lyle called her watching her husband and son. "Good job baby! Your mommy's big boy, helping Apa make our Christmas tree so beautiful."
She got up and went to lay Liam in his bassinet before scooping Lyle up. "Are you ready to play with your cousins tomorrow! You're going to be two years old."
Despite being 3 months younger, Lyle was likely going to be tall like his father already catching up to and passing his slightly older cousin in height. She didn't think any one would surpass Colin, who overtook Nolan the oldest of the bunch before he turned 3.
She gave him several kisses on his cheeks listening to him laugh before putting him down, "can you find mommy a really nice ornament."
She turned and smirked at her husband, "doesn't mean we can't practice though." He was right though, Liam was a rough one, but she supposed she just had baby fever at the moment.
----
Damien chuckled, “Oh I don't mind practicing…” he quickly picked his wife up, planting a quick kiss to her lips, “You want a little girl? I will ******** give you one…” He tried not to growl but it happened anyway, tempted to devour the woman he was holding right then and there. However, he did not feel like traumatizing their poor son, so leaned forward, whispering all sorts of dirty promises in her ear before letting her down. Damien walked over to the bassinet to pick up his youngest, rocking him gently. “You want a sister, little guy?” Lyle came back just then, scrunching up his face, “Ewwww….Girls are cooties Apa…No sister.”
Damien laughed and looked at Rose, “Hear that? You are apparently cooties baby.” Lyle gasped, “What?! Noooooo! Mommy’s not cooties! You take that back Apa!”
----
Rose squealed when Damien picked her up and grinned into the kiss, knowing her husband she would need to be careful. She hadnt started back on birth control yet, she wasnt getting a cycle yet anyway with her still being her baby’s main food source at the moment. She chuckled and swatted playfully at her husbands, “My my Mr. Jacobs … you had better keep those promises you hear?”
She smiled watching her husband interact with their sons, all the kids and the family, not just their own loved him so much. This wasn't the life she imagined for herself, but she was glad she found him. Her soulmate.
She started laughing at their two year old son talking about cooties, she grabbing him up. “You dont even know what cooties are,” she said, tickling him and watching as he dissolved into a fit of giggles.
She looked to her husbands, “you think he got that from Lona?”
