It seemed that Jupiter Knights were starting to pop up everywhere…like unwanted acne, and as Wavellite looked this one over, she wondered if he would do the same as the last two Pages that she had run into and suddenly get stronger just out of nowhere.
Knights with sudden growth spurts weren’t something that she wanted to deal with on a regular basis…or honestly, ever again thank you very much.
Moving rather slowly, she let a cocky grin spread across her face and summoned her saber to her hand, humming softly. “Well, you’re a little thing aren’t you? Shouldn’t you babies stick together when you go out? Don’t you know that there are people who are stronger than you out her?”
Her eyes lingered on his hair, and she thought for a moment. “Of course, and this totally burned me the last time I asked but, I suppose since we kind of look alike…I could offer to bring you in to the Negaverse rather than kill you, and I’ll even adopt you as my brother! Doesn’t that sound wonderful? The deal of a lifetime!”
That she was never going to offer again after that stupid senshi of brooms but…
But hey. Maybe it would work this time.

Arges startled at the voice that suddenly appeared behind him, jolting and spinning around to face the stranger. He had been on what he thought would be a casual patrol to get used to his new strength and powers (and outfit), and his mind had wandered far enough he didn’t notice the approach of another human being behind him. The green-haired man cocked his head in confusion. “I don’t think we’re close enough that you can call me small,” he replied, wary of the energy coming from this person. It wasn’t anything he had encountered before, and by the way she talked, she had some sort of power as well. Arges’s eyes landed nervously on the saber in her belt. “I’m going to be honest: I’m new here, so I can’t accept an offer I know nothing about. I don’t want any trouble, and I haven’t given you a reason to kill me,” he continued plainly, keeping his expression blank in hopes Wavellite didn’t see him as weak… or a threat.

“Well if you’re new, then I suppose I can simply educate you!” It was as good of an excuse as anything, and she watched him with eager, predatory eyes. “So, you’re on the wrong side of this, the losing side of this, I’m going to assume you were given something utterly useless as a ‘weapon’, am I right? Well, I’m sure that it will stay useless. I’ve never met a Knight who had anything useful, not like we do. We have actual weapons, like my saber here.”
She drew it and smirked slightly.
There was no way she would mention that she had started with nothing more than a paper boat, that was neither here nor there, but. Still. She had something wonderful now. Something that could cut deep, could draw blood. Something that could silence those she didn’t like.
“What else can I tell you? Because, you really honestly have no choices here, it’s join us or die, I’m afraid.”

“I didn’t know there were sides,” Arges huffed with a scrunch of his nose. It really does make sense though, as much as he hated to admit it. Whatever mysterious power that was granted to him has an opposing force. The knight felt a surge of protectiveness over that power and his fellow knights at the thought. His expression quickly switched back to blank and tense as soon as the saber was drawn though. “I appreciate your insight, but I’m going to have to decline your offer,” he replied plainly, going for a diplomatic approach. “If my weapon is as useless and weak as you say it is, why look for a fight? We can go our separate ways and pretend we never saw each other.” He clutched the weathervane in his hand a little tighter to his side. Yeah, it can’t do much, but it is a piece a metal and better than plain fists versus a sword.

“We don’t have to fight. Now that I’ve explained things, if you want us to not fight, all you have to do is make the right choice here. It’s honestly not that difficult, I’m sure you’re smart enough to figure it out, aren’t you?”
Or did order simply pick out people who were too stupid to think for themselves?
…Honestly, that did make some sense from what she knew. Wavellite’s lips pursed and she moved closer to the Page, her eyes growing dark as she planned her next move. “I think, if you’re having trouble deciding, I could help you.” Her sword was pointed at him and with a quick jerk of the hand she teleported behind him, wrapping an arm around his middle, her sword at her throat. “Now, this is comfy!”
And she was exhausted…so there was that but. It was fine. She had enough to take him to Negaspace. She had enough to do her job. “So, will you make the right choice? Or do I have to spill your pretty little blood all over your stupid little outfit?”

“I think the word you’re looking for is ignorant. I’m not stupid,” he argued uselessly. It seems the Negaverse agent was just here to bully him until she got what she wanted. His heart practically lept into his throat as he was grabbed from behind, not seeing how Wavellite moved from point A to point B. “What the ********?” He gasped and tried to wriggle free. However the saber was a little too close to his neck for comfort, and he ceased his movement as soon as he felt the chill of metal against his skin. “Look, as tempting as your offer is, this is not exactly the best way to advertise it. So unless you want this ‘useless’ weathervane shoved up your a**, you should totally back off. What’s in it for me anyway?” He snapped, slowly wedging said weapon between himself and her saber arm to try and give it some distance from his neck. “‘Cause the only ‘benefits’ I’m seeing are that Negaverse agents are too scared to pick on someone their own size and stoop to threatening those weaker than them to make themselves feel better. That’s not exactly the type of life I want to pursue.”

“It’s easy. We’re stronger, faster and better than you. We get real weapons and the ability to teleport, which…you don’t. You know, I think perhaps we got off on the wrong foot here and I should simply let you think my offer over a little, how does that sound. And then the next time we meet, you can accept it and we’ll live happily ever after as a brand new brother and sister team, or…I’ll run you through and that’ll be the end of that!”
Wavellite’s voice was mocking, and terribly amused, and she jerked her arm slightly so that the flat of the blade tapped against the exposed neck once more. “Tap tap. Just a warning tap. Love tap.” With a soft laugh, she took a step backwards and nodded her head at him. “You can live today, just remember that we’ll meet again, and you’ll have to make a choice. If you think I’m picking on you, I’m not. I just really want this for us, got it?”
And what she wanted…well. Wavellite would have.

The knight was relieved the agent changed her mind. I can’t believe bruising their ego worked. “If you really want to work together, I think the first step is to not do… all this.” He waved vaguely in the air. His smart words were all used up in that last desperate speech. “And I don’t think this is what people mean by siblings being at each others’ throats,” he continued, this time only lightly tapping at her sword arm with the weathervane, encouraging her to move it. Yes, play into the weird team-up dynamic she wants. “I’ll consider your offer, but next time, bring a brochure or something.” Arges wasn’t about to tell her he still had no interest in joining the opposing side. He didn’t care for the power. He’s happy right where he is, thank you.

“I enjoy doing ‘All this’ I think it’s fun and that’s just who I am.” Wavellite paused and then beamed when he spoke about them being siblings. If that meant he’d honestly think about it…that.
“Well, I wouldn't know. Never had a real sibling before so, it could be, you know?” Letting her saber vanish into wherever it was stored when not in her hand, she drew away, stretching slightly and stifling a yawn. “Well, I’d have to make up a brochure but, I could try. I’ll see you around, Page Boy, don’t forget that when I see you next time.”
She wagged a finger at him. “You’ll be coming back with me!” There. Upbeat. No talk of killing him, no threats, just…a promise that he would join her…that he didn’t have to agree or disagree with.
That was how you win an argument, and Wavellite was sure she had won this one.
With a laugh, she turned and ran off into the darkness, unwilling to drain herself to the point of exhaustion with another teleport…though it did sound good as a way to just get home quicker…
Ah well.

Arges procured half of a smile. Sword lady was not bad when she wasn’t threatening his life. She could keep up with some banter and had a confident energy. “Sure sure. I look forward to it,” he said, a hesitant wave given the agent’s way as she disappeared into the woods. He let out a breath he felt like he had been holding that entire time. That was the closest he’d come to any real danger since his awakening! He was genuinely curious if the next time they met it would be with brochures and powerpoint presentations, and not weapons and magic. The Page should really study more about where his powers came from…
