After a most eventful morning at sea carrier arrived at the ranch with his little snaptrotter Rhiannon in tow. He had already grown quite attached to her, and her side bumped comfortingly against his thigh. She was bandaged, but it wasn't a professional job and there should be someone here in attendance that could help. A new person's arrival set off a local alarm system.

" I'm a commin', I hear y'all, I'll go see who it is, no need for all that racket. Thal emerged from chopping wood behind the barn to see if Theriar standing with a mincing juvenile stepdaughter. He drawled, "Pretty lady, Onora know about her yet? I thought as well," He smacked his work gloves against his thigh. "Well at the very least my morning just got more interesting.

Theriar smiled good naturedly at his friend's son. He had known Thal and the girls from the day they had been born. "Too funny, I hope she feeds you something spicy next visit. I did the best I could with her bandages." He held the snapstrotter against his chest and she looked like a captured swan. Your father's yaotl be damned. Had to do a little round up on my deck when she insulted Bob from the boat. Tattled back at him like a squirrel, she did. He patted her head he was proud.

" Let me tell you it is unnerving to have him under your boat and him being bigger than the boat." Theriar wasn't afraid of much but there were still a few sea things that could shiver his timbers. "Keep me appraised of progress. He's the one who raked her side hopefully your Mum can help the scar." He felt bad for the little snapper.

" Scars tell stories he for example, Kiyelt is covered in scars. It made him look rugged and edgy. But I see your point it would be a shame to ruin that white hide, quite beautiful."
"Nice wrap job though she looks adorable." Thal will begin to unwind the strips off the cute little animal. She waited patiently. He was impressed. Usually they were a little more wriggly.

He felt bad for the little beast. " Takes a real lady to face off with Bob." There was on admiration in his voice. She was such a darling and such a survivor.

He could see that the man's little Trotter was twining her new master around her claw already. Too cute. She seemed friendly enough and was above average intelligence was sparkling in her eyes. She arched her neck for him to take the bandage off. "Sweet reptile you have here. " Regal too, good bearing. "Fine wild stock, feel like her parents might have escaped a decent breeding operation not too long ago."

" Thank you. I feel very lucky, all things considered." He watched the hybrid slowly expose her gash. "How bad is it?" He asked not sure how much damage young snaptrotters could handle. "She is still young." He hoped that was a good thing. He would feel awful if something happened to her.

" It looks to be mostly superficial thankfully, a few deeper places here and there." She hissed as Thal washed and dabbed at it with antiseptics. "She will recover just fine. I have a special salve made with seaweed and herbs and beeswax. It does absolute wonders on wounds like this might not even scar."

He relaxed somewhat at the positive verdict. pets were never easy when they were injured. He always felt terribly helpless. And he was almost never helpless thanks to a very practical job and upbringing. "Thank you for helping on such short notice. I didn't even have a snaptrotter this morning."

"No problem. That's what we're here for Mom always make sure there's something to cover for her when she has to go away. He took down a large glass jar and unscrewed the lid. "This will stave off infection prevent the bandage from sticking and helps to reduce or eliminate the scarring but it would also make her quite drunk if she licls it. So try to prevent that if you can." He began to smear it directly over her wound startomg at her head and working its way down her body.

"How is the homefront going?" He knew Thol had three sons in the most beautiful mate, "That ex husband try to collect her back yet? The boys must all be apprentices by now." Children seem to grow mighty fast when you were not around them all the time. "They took after their mother in looks didn't they? "

Thal 7 "Boys are all apprentices now and individually sweet but scary together, they are unstoppable and a sight to behold, three sides of the same coin which is a paradox in itself. Try not to think too hard on it.They are all healthy and that is what matters. Everyone is happy, my family is happy. He has not tried to take her back, no." He better not.

He smiled indulgently at the snaptrotter. He thought having his own kids would be wonderful, someone else to come home to in addition to the wonderful Onora for a man who had once come back to nothing. It would be bliss. "How much trouble are they?"
