Now that Gismondine was a general…now that someone had decided that he somehow deserved the rank of General…he honestly had no idea what to do with himself.

He was lonely. Terribly lonely and felt as though life had no real purpose any longer. There was school but…that was an obligation…and not even really worth it in the absence of his sister to cheer him on. He had assumed that Ashanite might have had something to do with his promotion, but the distinct lack of the General in his life made him almost think that the promotion had just been so that he would go somewhere. Do something else.

Not be his problem any longer. Which. Honestly, Gismondine could understand. He was useless, even though he now had more power and could try to be useful…he wasn’t. It wasn’t hard to see why. He was nothing more than a stuttering, unconfident…loser.

And that was why everyone had left him. He was alone, nobody wanted him…so.

Honestly, maybe it would have been better if Parisite hadn’t ever saved him to begin with. If that senshi had just…finished what he had started.

At least then he wouldn’t be hurting so badly.

Rubbing his face, Gismondine struggled not to cry. Crying would do absolutely nothing. It wouldn’t bring anyone back…and it would only undermine whatever status he had by becoming a General.

The feeling of a corrupt senshi nearby made him draw in a breath and rub forcefully at his eyes, as though doing so would force the tears far back into them. Okay. He could do this. He could check on whoever it was, make sure they were doing all right and…be…General…like.

When he was sure that his eyes weren’t leaking…though he wasn’t sure he could stop them from looking a little glassy, but hopefully that could be blamed on the cold weather, Gismondine teleported to where he felt the senshi and drawing in a breath, plastered a smile on his face. “Hello there, I just…just wanted…wanted…”

For a moment, Gismondie stared at the black and read outfit, his eyes focusing on the spider lilies that adorned the peach colored hair…it wasn’t…it.

“...Xander?” His voice cracked and before his mind had time to think, before the obvious fact that it wasn’t Xander…that this guy looked nothing like his boyfriend could catch up and process, he was already leaping at him, eyes squeezed shut and arms wrapping around the thin frame. “Xander!”

He was trying to go out on his own more. Trying to get use to the concept so that Bell or Wave didn't have to follow him around every time and get done what they needed to. He wouldn't disappoint them. Granted, he hadn't been doing much, like collecting energy or anything but... Baby steps. He'd get there.

The presence of a officer gave him pause and he wondered for a moment of if it was Bell.

He wouldn't have to wait long to find out.

Dresda still jumped when the General appeared, whirling around to face him only to be met with an arm full of the man. Dresda stood in place, stunned for a moment. "I.. um." He muttered softly. "Um... I... I don't... I'm not." Dresda sighed softly. "I'm sorry..." The senshi offered gently. "Is there someone you're looking for? I can help you find them."

Gismondine had known that it wasn’t Xander. His brain had finally caught up and he knew that the person he had just…well. Just assaulted wasn’t Xander but…he couldn’t quite make himself let go. Couldn’t quite make himself face that reality just yet.

If he could have a moment, to pretend like he would get to hear Xander’s laugh, that he’d be able to look up and see that dorky, beautiful smile…but.

No, the voice wasn’t at all that of his former boyfriend, and Gismondine drew in a shaking breath and drew away from the corrupted senshi, raising a hand to hide his eyes, rubbing away the fresh wave of tears that had decided to show. “...N-no, of course you’re not…I…no, I don’t need help…he. He’s just gone. You…I mean all corrupts have black so that…but. The red and…your hair and…I don’t know…I suppose I just hoped that…maybe he had dyed his hair or something and I had finally found him…”

But. It had been what, two years now? Something like that. Far too long, and Gismondine had to just let it go but.

…It was hard.

Dresda stood there, letting the General just hang off him before the other man pulled away, collecting himself. Reaching into his subspace pocket, Dresda produced a small packet of tissues along with a little candy and offered it to the General. "I'm sorry." He said again. "That I can't help help you. That I wasn't him. I'm sorry you're hurting..." Be it from his own pain, or the unintentional pain Dresda inflicted on him.

The corrupt offered him a small soft smile. "I'm Dresda. It is nice to meet you... Even if..." Well, he didn't have to explain. "Do you want to talk about it? I know you... may not entirely want to. But it may do you some good to just... get it out there. I may not be who you thought I was, but I can listen just as good." Pausing, he wrung his hands together. "We... You, I mean, you don't have to talk if you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."

He just wanted to help.

Dresda tilted his head. "I know a good cafe not too far from here... We can get something warm if you want. My treat?"

Each word spoken by this Dresda was like another knife sliding between his ribs. At least they were clean cuts, and he knew that Dresda hadn’t done anything wrong. Knew that all this was, was a gross misunderstanding and a false hope that…needed to go take a long walk off of a short pier…it. It wasn’t fair to him, and to the people that he met. People like this poor, sweet corrupt who was honestly trying to help…even though he had done nothing wrong.

“...I really, I don’t think I'm going to be good company tonight, I’m afraid…I…”

Closing his eyes for a moment, Gismondine drew in a deep breath, hoping to calm himself down, but did manage to extend a hand. “G-General Gismondine. At your service. Perhaps…we could talk another time…and get that drink, or…or you can simply reach out to me whenever you may need, I…I want to be useful. Helpful…I…” He flashed a nervous smile that only lasted for a moment before his gaze fell to the ground. “I’m rather new at this, and I apologize again for just. Jumping you like that. It was irresponsible, and I am very sorry, Dresda.”

"That's fine. You're having a bad night. You don't have to be 'good company' if you don't want to. But... Isn't it still better to have company then not? Again... You don't have to talk." General Gismondine wasn't required to tell him anything after all. "We can just... walk. We could sit here. You could cry and get it out of your system. It's whatever you want to do, but you don't have to talk. I could ramble about something you think is mundane and stupid if you want."

He was already rambling though.

Dresda shook the General's hand, once again offering a soft smile. "You're useful, Gismondine. I'm sure you're more then helpful as well. You are a General after all. You've done something right to make it this far. Good job." Dresda really hoped he wasn't coming off condescending or that Gismondine thought he was babying him. "I'm still new to a lot of this too." Dresda offered. "You don't have to apologize. I probably would have done the same thing, if something like that had happened to me. I can't fault you for that. It's okay, I promise."

Gismondine watched him for a long moment and finally nodded. It…might be nice to just have a friend again but…

How long before this one vanished too? That was all people did when they got close to him. “I’ll keep it in mind, Dresda…but. Not tonight. I…I’m sorry.”

He chewed his lip and then withdrew his hand from the corrupt’s, and then took a step back, teleporting away. A rude way to end the encounter but…

Crying in front of an inferior wasn’t…how Gismondine wanted to end today but…maybe if he ever saw Dresda again they could go and get something to drink. Maybe it would be nice…but.

Most likely...he’d never see the male again so…it didn’t really matter.
