Marquette was happy when they reached her apartment, though she was feeling utterly and completely drained from Teleporting them about a block away…
Teleporting still wasn’t easy...but each time she did it was better than the last, and the fact that she was able to keep herself on her feet after teleporting with someone was…well. It was worth celebrating, at least in her mind.
She opened the door to the apartment that she shared with Fawn and led Juniper in by the hand. “My girlfriend’s out for the night, I think she’s staying with Bellite, so we can just chill with no worries. If you want I can um. Make you some hot chocolate? Make yourself at home.”
Marquette hated that her eyes were still a bit watery, whatever poison had been in the air had been potent...and it didn’t seem like distance was making it grow any less so.
“You do like hot chocolate, don’t you?”

Ugh... Teleporting was a whole new experience... That was definitely something to get use to. "Is teleporting always gonna feel that.." Juniper made a face, waving his hand vaguely. What a weird feeling. Though, given what they had just gone through, he probably shouldn't be that caught off guard..
He nodded, settling into the couch in the living room. "She's not gonna be mad that I'm here or anything is she?" Juni knew they were all team mates, but he didn't want to get her in trouble for something that was his fault. Speaking of which... He pulled out his phone, shooting his sister a quick message that he was out with a friend and might be home late.
"Of course I do." He snorted. "That's like, the go to winter drink isn't it? That or something chai related." Juni shrugged. "Why? Do you not hot chocolate??"

Marquette laughed and nodded. “I had to ask! If you had wanted tea or just water or something, I would have given it to you…judged you, but given it to you.” Her eyes sparkled slightly and she was feeling a little bit better now that they were out of that strange fog or…or whatever it was. Still a little melancholy but…
“Okay, give me two minutes and I’ll be right back.” It took only about that time, though maybe a little longer before she was back, two mugs filled with hot chocolate in her hands, a small mountain of whipped cream in each one.
“And here we are. No, Fawn won’t care at all, she’ll be happy that I’m making friends other than her, I think.” It would be nice to have someone else to talk to…and if her and Juniper could become closer…maybe she would end up with a little brother out of this.
…Perhaps that was also part of Bellite’s whole scheme. Oh Bellite. “So…Christmas movie?”

"Nah nah nah, See. I'm literally a tea snob the rest of the year. Winter is for hot cocoa. Judge me for it if you want but that is my hill and I will die on it." He proclaimed, perhaps a little more proudly than he meant to come off.
Juni perked up more when Marquette returned, gladly accepting the mug. "Thank you, thank yooou." The young man sat for a minute, letting the warmth seep into his hands. "I think my sister would be happy that I'm making friends too. You know, before the usual parental drive kicks in and she bombards me with the usual thousand questions." He shrugged, trying not to think about it too much.
"Oh god. Don't let me pick the movie. I have horrible taste." Or so he'd been told. "I think, we should avoid sappy Christmas movies though." Juni had a feeling they were both over tears and crying for one day. "I'm not overly picky though? So I've you've got a movie in mind, I'm all for it."

“Tea snob normally, got it. I’ll be sure to get the cheapest tea bags that I can find at the grocery store. I’ll have the place stocked with nothing but Lipton.”
Her mouth twitched in a smile and Marquette got up, grabbing a dvd from off of the television stand. “Nothing sappy, got it, how about Christmas Vacation then. We can watch the family do stupid things and laugh our asses off at the innapproprite…ness of the whole movie.”
Sliding the disk into the slot, Marquette flopped herself backwards on the couch. She took a moment to cuddle up to Juniper and wrap her arm around his shoulders, drawing the boy close to her. “...Hope this is fine, I get kind of cuddly and honestly, with all of the whatever that happened out there, I don’t really want to be alone right now, so. For tonight at least, you’re my little brother and I’m going to torment you and enjoy it.”
And cuddle him. And enjoy that too. And together they’d watch a movie and…
It would be nice.
It was nice.

"Oh my god, I'm not THAT bad..." Juniper laughed. "I just like tea. Perhaps snob was a poor choice of words." Tea was tea. He'd likely drink it at the end of the day, regardless of brand. Dresda took a sip of his hot chocolate as she set up the movie, giving her a curious look as she popped it in. "I don't know if I've seen this one." He admitted. Juni froze for a moment as Marquette snuggled up to him, slinging an arm around him. Well that was different. "No that's fi- wait what?" Little brother? "Did I just get adopted off and not realize it?" Juni laughed, relaxing. "You might hafta fight my sister for that, but okay."

“You don’t want me to actually fight your sister, I’d win and then you’d have to accept me as your sister.” Marquette chuckled, though figured that if that did happen…Juniper wouldn’t be too pleased. Having a replacement sister because the first was murdered by the replacement…
“Well, I’ll just make sure that her and I don’t ever meet or fight, but I'd be a better one I bet.” Sticking her tongue out was the only way that she thought she could make it seem like a joke but…she would be a better one. Or she would try to. But.
This was not the time or the place to think about that. “Enjoy the movie, you’ll like it I promise. It’s a really funny one.”

"Marq, it has to be a fair fight! Of course you'd win if you powered up!" Juniper couldn't help but laugh along with her. "I'd prefer to keep her out of this honestly." It was nice to have a space, something, that she wasn't involved some way in. "So she can be the civilian sister, you can be the uh.... powered sister?" He stared at her blankly for a second before shrugging. "You get the idea."
With that handled, Juni settled down, snuggling up against Marq.
