Reiko Yamamura, at least in her own opinion, had to be one of the awkwardest humans alive.
Here she was, at the bakery where she was supposed to meet Farth, so they could have a nice afternoon and get to be better friends and all of that, and she had gotten there almost an hour early and was just sort of. Hovering. On a bench nearby. Fiddling with her phone and checking Twitter and responding to Youtube comments and looking out for her friend and feeling like a total weirdo for being here that early.
Ugh. Awkward as hell.
She cast one last look around--it was getitng closer tot he time they were supposed to meet, and maybe she could pretend that she'd been, like, a normal amount early.

Faeth was running a little late, as was the case most of the time. At least as was the case for most of the time lately...no pun intended. She didn’t think that she used to run late to things…but with school and papers due and research…
It was just hard to stay focused on things when she was getting far too focused on other things.
“Reiko!”
She called out the name of her friend when she saw her in front of the bakery and broke into a faster walk before all but throwing herself at the other girl, hugging her tightly and laughing in glee. “Prepare for the best dam eclairs that you’ve ever had, and I mean that. They’re the best things that I’ve ever put into my mouth.”
Not that she would let Emily ever know that but. It was true.

Reiko perked up as soon as she heard her name, smiling broadly and waving to her friend. She was already halfway out of her chair when Faeth got there to scoop her into a hug, and she laughed brightly when they came together.
"Okay, you've now set my expectations super sky-high, so I hope these eclairs can live up to all that hype," she laughed. Oh, this was just...so nice. It wasn't often that she made time to hang out with friends. Colelge and YouTube took up so much of her ability to do...anything, it was almost exhausting.
"So, let's go, no reason to keep waiting!"

Looping her arm through Reiko’s, Faeth walked into the bakery, smiling at the curly haired blonde who stood at the counter and smiled shyly. She was often working here, and spoke with in a rather strange way, which always led Faeth to wonder if she might be from a different country or just…perhaps a little bit different.
She was always polite at any rate, and Faeth did like to see her. She enjoyed seeing the blonde boy who worked here too, he was sweet.
“Two eclairs please!” She chirped, excited and pulling out her rewards card and her credit card, paying for both treats and getting her stamps for the purchase before tugging Reiko towards a free table and plopping one of the pastries in front of her. “Eat! Devour! It really will be life changing, or I’ll eat it for you…”
Pausing, Faeth wrinkled her nose. “...No…that makes me almost hope you don’t like it so I can eat it…”

It was clear enough that Faeth was here all the time; Reiko let herself be swept through the exchange, and drawn over to a table, smiling the entire time. It was always exciting to get to let someone pull you along on their adventure, and see where they wanted to go.
Whent hey sat down, she didn't waste time--took her eclair and took a bite, and paused, and then grinned.
"Oh, you weren't kidding, this is amazing." She sighed. "Sorry, not gonna be sharing today."

Laughing, Faeth shook her head. “I’m not upset, maybe a little bit but, not really.” Sure, it would have been nice to have another eclair but…sharing them was always good too. And the fact that Reiko seemed to really actually enjoy it made her almost glow. “So, now that you’re enjoying the eclair just like I promised…tell me about yourself!”
She rested her chin on her hands and looked at the girl, pleased to even be having a conversation with a new friend.
“What do you like to do and all that? The…what did you call it? Urban Exploration or something? Tell me more about that…I had meant to look it up but…I forgot! Educate me!”

Reiko laughed, and took a big, theatrical bite of her eclair, not bothering to hide how delighted she was with this entire situation. It was just so much fun--she felt like she was teasing back and forth, and like she had actually managed to make a real friend.
It was just....so much easier to relax around someone who amt her as Asuka first. Asuka let her be freer, more vulnerable, less...scared of tripping and causing offense. Because Asuka was powerful, and she liked that.
"Okay, well. Urban exploration is, uh, sort of the nicer word for it? And for most people that do it, it's about getting into abandoned places and taking photos and stuff, but I uh." The shyness bubbled back, and Reiko scuffed her foot in the ground. "I like to go to places that are supposed to be haunted, and uh. Ghost hunt. Because this city is so full of weird magical stuff and it's really exciting!"
God, she hoped Faeth didn't think that sounded stupid. Did being a Senshi mean that she was supposed to not believe in that stuff anymore, or something? Reiko really wasn't sure.

“Oh, that sounds like a lot more fun than just…well. I had this idea in my mind that it was just going to be us walking around the city, which…look, that seems fun but not really…fun, you know? But looking to find strange things…I’m game for that, absolutely so.”
Her eyes were sparkling and she glanced down at her eclair before picking it up and waggling her eyebrows. “I’m hoping that you have a spot in mind, and I am letting you know right now that I’m excited to go and do this. Lets find something spooky!”
It would be better to seek out spooky than have it just thrust in her face as the city tended to like to do, and the good thing about eclairs was that they could be portable.

Reiko laughed. "That is kinda what it sounds like, isn't it? But no, way more fun, and I know exactly where to go."
She stood up, and beckoned for Faeth to come with her. "It's jsut a couple blocks away, an old house where the owners died under...mysterious circumstances," she winked, "and whoever inherited it lived out of state, I guess, and never bothered to do anything. But people swear up and down they hear weird sounds, and see movement inside at night, so who knows? We can go and take a look around and see what we find!"
Honestly, it would be a great time. And finally, Reiko would get to show someone else what she loved.
