Quote: Prompt 3 (Holiday Blues): One day, in the very early morning hours, a strange, bluish fog rolls in. It floats low to the ground and is incredibly dense and incredibly cold. Anyone who inhales even a single breath from this fog will be met with a sudden, harsh sensation of sadness. It’s the worst part of the holidays—the Holiday Blues. The fog slowly spreads through the town and is gone by mid afternoon, but the sensation of sadness, loneliness, and nostalgia may linger for longer than that. Scientists are explaining the bluish tint as just being a natural phenomenon, but in Destiny City, ‘natural’ isn’t really something anyone should expect. Today would have been a good day to stay inside. Wavellite was here to do some more training with Dresda, and she had it in her mind that today they would work on punching things. It sounded good, and it would clearly be useful for the senshi, so she had come armed with two pairs of inflatable balloon punching gloves.
It would allow them to let loose while also making sure neither of them got a black eye or a broken nose.
Most likely at least. She couldn’t guarantee it but…she could try.
She beamed when Dresda arrived and held out the freshly blown up punching toys. “I figure you and I can practice physical fighting today. It’ll be good for us both, keep us limber and warm, and hopefully these dumb things will make sure that we don’t end up killing one another on accident.”
Waggling her eyebrows, she slid her own hands into her punching gloves. Punching pillows? Whatever they were. “You ready for this?”

Dresda just sort of stared at the gloves for a moment before looking the Captain. "It'll keep me from doing anything, that's for sure..." Whether or not it would keep Wave from doing the same was anyone's guess.
"Would you hold it against me if I said that, no, I wasn't ready for this?" Dresda didn't know they even still MADE these kinds of toys. "But. I'm willing to give it a shot. Some practice is better than no practice, right?" Just as long as she wasn't expecting great things straight out the gate.
"So we just... throw punches at each other now?"

“If by me holding it against you means me making fun of you when nobody else is around to hear it, then yes. It will be held against you, but that’s all right. I wouldn’t make fun of you in front of Xe or Bellite or anything, but I would have you…well, will have you out here doing more. I have a reputation to keep up, you know. You can’t just go slacking and not trying when I’m putting myself out there to train you.”
…She needed brownie points if she was ever going to make it to General, after all.
“And, yes! We just throw punches at each other, if you’re confused, then allow me to demonstrate!” And she grinned with sparkling eyes and delivered what would have been a splendid punch to the gut, though it was quite muffled by the inflatable marshmallows that covered her hands. “See? Just like that. Don’t hold back now, Dres!”

Dresda snorted. Well, he couldn't really fault her for that. He might have done the same if the roles were reversed. "I suppose that's fair." He chuckled. "Don't must of us have reputations in the Negaverse?" Well, more so the higher ranks then him. But still!
"Any recruits you end up getting as a General are bound for good things if you're this helpful with the newbies."
Much like before, Dresda squawked in surprised but threw his hands up instead of tripping over his own feet this time. "You know what? I much rather prefer the you lunging at me with gloves instead of a rapier. I take it back, this is definitely gonna work. " He wasn't sure about holding back, but he'd give it his best shot.

The compliment was…unexpected, and for a moment, Wavellite simply stared at the corrupted senshi before giving a snort. “Wow, I mean, I can’t fault you for saying such a thing, but I wasn’t thinking you would, and you’re not just some random newbie, you’re part of our group. Our pack or whatever. That sounds like we’re nothing more than a bunch of furries but…sometimes it feels like a pack. Or a family. I don’t know. Bellite does a good job of keeping things together and…I like helping her. She’s kind of inspiring, at least I think so.”
Wavellite was flustered enough that she didn’t notice that there was a strange fog rolling in, didn’t notice until it had completely engulfed them, and she had breathed some in that something was wrong. This. The whole idea of the family, of them being together.
Bellite was a better mother figure than she had ever had…and this…Dresda was like a brother she always wished that she had and…
Before Wavellite knew it, there were tears beginning to slowly ooze from her eyes.
…This. Was not normal. “...Wow…um. What the ******** class="quote">[Mistress Morbid]

"Pack, group, family. It's all the same thing right? A gathering of people, or whatever, that set out to protect one another and survive. They all work." Dresda shrugged, it made sense to him anyway. "Bell does do a good job, so are you." The senshi snickered at her flustered state, having not entirely meant to leave her like that.
Much like the Captain, he hadn't noticed the fog until it was too late. He sniffled, looking at her. "Are... Are you okay?" Dresda asked, rubbing at his own face as tears pricked at the corner of his eyes. "Is this a training thing?" Was this a test to see how he'd react to things outside his control. "This... this isn't my magic." He wasn't sure why he felt the need to clarify that it wasn't his, but he did. "I'm sorry.." Dresda muttered.

Wavellite shook her head and wiped swiftly at her face, eliminating any traces of tears. “...Not me doing it, but…I’m going to ask if you want to just…come to my place for a bit um. Maybe we can watch a movie or something…and just…not be here while…whatever this is is going on…”
And they could have something sweet to eat and…
And just really work on being family.
…Or something like that.
“I just. Think not being out in this would be the best thing to do. You never can tell what this damn city’s going to do to you..”

Dresda nodded softly, wiping at his eyes. "That sounds good... I don't really wanna explain this to my sister if it lasts long." She was right though, being out and about in this was probably not a good idea. If it could effect them like this, who knew what else could happen. Dresda didn't even want to begin to imagine a scenario were they couldn't call for Bell, or where they did and Bell got caught in this too. "Maybe next time we find somewhere a little more... us friendly." There had to be somewhere they could go where the city's random bullshit couldn't affect them.
"At least this city keeps us on our toes right??" He laughed, or tried to. " 'Expect the unexpected, at Destiny City!' Someone should market that... I'm sure it would be great for tourism."
