Prompt 13 (Sweet Treats) : There’s no shortage of holiday themed popup shops and specials at your local places, and after a long day there’s nothing better than a nice treat for yourself. Maybe you decided to try something new, maybe it was a gift, maybe you got one of the coupons in the mail to try the place out–however you wound up with this drink, you’re in for a good time. No matter what your preferences are, the drink is delicious. Hot, cold, sweet, bitter–there’s a version of it for everyone. But, the flavor isn’t what makes the drink so special–it’s how good it makes you feel. There’s no alcohol in it, but drinking it can leave someone feeling tipsy, warm, and in a general good mood. Inhibitions aren’t lowered and there’s no negative repercussions for having the drink; it might make children more hyper, but the drink just has the ability to put someone in a pleasant mood.

It was fine.

It wasn't necessarily going to be awkward, Brielle told herself as she walked through the streets towards the pop-up shop she'd agreed to try with Solaris. With Kyrie, technically.

She repeated the name to herself a few times so she wouldn't slip up once they found each other.

Things had started on the wrong foot with Devyn, too. She'd more or less sent him out of her family's house in a state on their first meeting, and their second had only been so much better, but now they were close all the same. She wanted to be his brother, once the marriage with Michael went through.

She was hoping, possibly more than she wanted to admit, that it would be the same with her newest extraterrestrial acquaintance. Perhaps she had some ulterior motives for it, her own desire for allies, and- although this was still unspoken- teammates.

She'd see where it went. For the moment, she just shoved her nerves down as she approached the to-go counter of this place, dressed in a smart wool coat and tall boots. She'd sent Kyrie a selfie of her in this form so she would know what she was looking for.

She ordered something called a Reindeer Swirl, which mostly seemed like a chocolate coffee with little chocolate antlers and a red cherry nose stuck into the whipped cream on to. To-go, of course, so they could go somewhere where they could speak freely afterwards.

In the meantime, she stepped off to the side of the counter, and she waited.

"I'm gonna assume you don't mind the cold--you're not getting caught in these snowstorms, right?"

The question was directed to the small ball of light and energy that trailed along beside her, a strange little thing she'd come across shortly after Halloween. Well... more it seemed to find her. And promptly stick itself effectively to her shadow. Every time now that she took on the form of Solaris, she found the little wisp manifesting beside her, and each time she queried if it'd been well. Not that it gave her a response, really, but she didn't know what it was... Just ignoring it didn't seem right.

So, talking to it, even if it didn't respond back, felt like the best way to go.

Now and then it at least seemed to kinda... register what she was saying? She offered it food sometimes, wondering if it was like a stray animal seeking out people for whatever scraps they could offer... but it would always back away from whatever she'd hold out to it. Just leaving something on a plate or in a cup never resulted in anything. So, she just stopped trying. Didn't seem to negatively affect anything, so she summarized it just didn't need food. Or at least nothing she could give it.

Hopping from one rooftop to the next, the wisp kept up with her without issue, sometimes even rushing ahead when it seemed to understand the direction she was going in. There, it'd hover and wait, before swirling around her and going on with her over her shoulder, or zooming forward again. Solaris laughed. It at least seemed to be kinda playful, whatever it was.

Checking her phone again, she winced at the time. She was running a bit later than she'd intended, though it'd entirely been her own fault. She just... hadn't wanted to roll out of bed that morning. Oops. So, the best way to travel--and fastest, at this point--had been to power up into Solaris, and hit the rooftops with senshi speed to where Cybele was waiting.

Brielle, she'd need to remind herself of that a few times. It was one of the random holiday pop-up shops she'd mentioned before, and the two had agreed to meet up without senshi guises to try some of their wares. Not that Kyrie could call it without glamours, but... well. The differences would likely be extremely obvious--as obvious as to why she'd need to look human, and not Solarian.

But, she grinned, thinking it'd be neat at some point to hang out with Brielle as just herself. Pop-up shop first, all of that other stuff later.

"Alright, I'm heading down," she told the wisp gently, smiling up to it as it hovered near her. "Don't think you can come with, but we'll play again later, alright? You stay safe!" She gave it a little wave, unsure of where it went off to as she jumped down into an alleyway below. Glancing up, she saw it briefly swirling up above the alleyway, but as she powered down into Kyrie, it seemed to just... vanish somewhere. Weird.

Shrugging, she adjusted the thick light blue sweater wrapped around her, and made her way out of the alley onto the sidewalk. The heavy combat boots and black leggings were winter-y enough, but the short skirt with each pleat a different color of a pastel rainbow, and dark halter top showing off her midriff were more a look for warmer weather. It was something Realta griped about with her, and maybe, someday, Kyrie would try to find more 'seasonal appropriate attire.' Considering how overheated she sometimes felt in heavier stuff, though... bleh.

Kyrie pulled out her phone, turning to the photo Brielle had sent her. Realizing it'd likely be less shocking if she sent one ahead herself, she paused long enough to snap a quick selfie with a wide grin and other hand held up in a peace sign.

Blankets and pillows are too good sometimes

The quick texts joined the photo, and she continued on, searching for the name of the shop Brielle had mentioned. She spotted it soon enough, and the green-haired young woman near it. Kyrie beamed, boots slapping against the pavement as she hurried over. "Brielle!" She lifted a hand, rings and bracelets and necklaces jingling nearly like bells as she moved. It was tempting to reach out for a hug, but she hesitated, unsure if that was super... appropriate?

Their first meeting had been a bit rough, sure, and Kyrie wasn't entirely convinced she hadn't... probably said some things she shouldn't have. Especially after Cybele had explained some of her history. A rather... big part of it, really.

"Oh that looks good," she hummed, eyeing the drink in the other woman's hand. Blue eyes flicked up to the menu the shop sported, skimming it briefly to figure out what she'd want to get. "You weren't waiting long, right? Sorry about that."

The photos that they'd sent each other kept their glamours from making things confusing, but it was still always sort of a shock to see the way that people looked without all the trappings and power. When she saw Kyrie making her way over to the line, with her oversized sweater and her quirky earrings, she saw a girl who looked soft, perhaps artistic.

Despite their previous conversation, it was hard for her to make her brain see a soldier in front of her.

"No, you're all right. It's only been two minutes," Brielle said over her shoulder before she stopped for a moment to pick up the drink that the barista was passing through the window towards her. It did look just like a reindeer, and it took some self control not to start giving soft gasps just at the sight of it. "This does look good though, doesn't it? Even better than the pictures."

That was something she didn't often get to say.

Unlike in the pictures, she wasn't sure that the whipped cream was going to stay perfectly in place on top of the hot coffee, so she took a quick cream-filled sip while she had the chance. Her eyes widened a bit as warmth seemed to find its way all the way to her fingertips.

"Mmm. Perfect," she murmured. "It's so good to see you, by the way!" Now that her drink was settled, Kyrie had her full attention. "Order yourself something, too, and then we can see if we can find a nice place to catch up."

There were some benches and small flowerbeds not too far away, or similar options where they'd hopefully be able to discuss senshi things.
