Quote:
Prompt 5 (Snow Fairies): On a cold winter night, when the moon is nearly full and bright in the sky, you hear laughter. At first, you can't place it, but then you feel little pokes and prods, tugs on your hair, your clothes. Sometimes you think you see something out of the corner of your eye--a small, icy body. Sometimes you hear wings flapping in the night. As long as you are out in the cold, you feel eyes on you and you find yourself the target of small mischief from what seems to be icy little fairies, though they move too fast for you to see or grab. They never speak, only laugh. When you go inside, or venture anywhere with too much light or heat, they seem to disappear and do not bother you again.

Winter had come with a vengeance, and Angelica was honestly missing her pants. And her sweater. Sure her new, upgraded outfit was about eighty times cuter but…it was colder too. She was thankful for the stockings that covered her legs under the skirt, but the lack of her sweater and her hat...oh she missed her hat right now.

There was a strange laugh from just behind her and to the left, and at the same time, she felt the unsettling aura of something chaos, and Angelica’s mood went from simply cold to…a bad mood. And cold.

Very cold.

Turning, she saw something out of the corner of her eyes, and then the senshi came into view. Black clad, of course, with one of those stupid overlays like Sappho had.

Oh well. At least she wouldn’t have any issues in fighting this one.

“Think something’s funny?” Angelica’s words dripped with anger and hatred. All of the mirrors were the same. Interchangeable. Easily squishable, at least…that was what she hoped so.

…Easily shatterable? Maybe that was a better phrase. “Because I don’t.”

Heavy clouds had been dumping snow on Destiny City for the last several days, roads covered in ice and slush with vehicles abandoned on the sides of streets, or in some cases even the ditches. Some neighborhoods weren’t as affected, mainly because the snow plows were able to clear the roads due to the lack of steep hills.

But none of this affected Markeb.

Ok- well… some of it did. Commuting was less impacted since she just mirror walked most places to save on needing to spend money on gas. With over five years spent avoiding everyone, including other Dark Mirror Senshi, she had become quite skillful at moving around undetected.

Nonetheless- the freezing temperature was hardly something to balk at which is why she had no intention of staying in this ridiculous not-winter-proof uniform overlong. The ONLY reason she had powered up at all was because of a peculiar light that had caught her attention, a little wisp that glowed a soft blue off in an area where there were no hanging lights.

Curiosity drew her forward and out of precaution she powered up just to make sure the little lamplit creature wasn’t actually a Negaverse youma trying to sneak up on her.

It was late enough that Markeb thought she’d be safe. Oh boy was she wrong!

A super senshi was near enough to sense her, and rather than leaving her well enough alone, they approached her with an accusatory tone. “Excuse me?” she replied, genuinely confused. The wisp’s light dimmed slightly as it floated up towards Markeb and hid behind one of her pigtails creating an almost halo-lighting effect behind her. “I wasn’t laughing,” she tried to explain “I was-”

The Senshi of Wishes paused when the chiming sound of melodious laughter danced around them. It reminded her of those classic horror movies when the sound of a child’s giggle could be heard in an attic but when the main character goes to investigate, there is nothing to be seen except a creepy-looking doll on a rocking chair. “That?” she gestured around her since she couldn’t pinpoint the source. “That’s not me…”

Angelica scoffed, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. “That one might not have been, but it must have been you that I heard.” Honestly though, if it hadn’t been her, it didn’t matter. She was trash anyway. She was one of the mirrors and that meant that what Angelica was about to do was completely justified due to the transparent crap she wore.

“I’m not sure if you know Sappho or not, but if you see her, let her know that I’ll be ending everything when I see her again, if you would. And, just know that I think you’re all utter garbage, and that it’s all her fault, just saying. You though. I’m sure you might be a nice person…very deep down but.”

That really…really didn’t matter right now. “Spruce Smoke Surprise!”

With a grin, Angelica let the magical cones fly at the senshi, hoping that they were a surprise…of the negative kind.

Spruce Smoke Surprise
Angelia says the name of her attack and produces a three energy spruce cones. She throws this handful of cones at an opponent and when the cones come in contact with something, they explode into a light green smoke, which smells very strongly of Spruce. The attack is nothing more than an overwhelming smell of spruce, but it is nevertheless distracting. If the spruce cones hit a target, they will cause a small bit of pain upon exploding, akin to being struck with a golf ball. The smoke dissipates in thirty seconds and the attack can be used three times per battle.

It was clear by this woman’s tone, how dangerous this situation was quickly becoming. Not to mention the way she strutted all high and mighty as if she were a predator and Markeb was the prey. Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t inclined to be punished for someone else's sins.

Clearly she felt wronged, or hurt, by whatever this Sappho had done and was now intent to take her anger out on anyone who was a part of the Dark Mirror court regardless of their affiliation with her. Oh, she’d let Sappho know that this crazy b***h was out here hunting her down as well as warn any other Dark Mirror Senshi that might be patrolling this evening to stay well away from Santa’s little helper unless they know they can take her on.

As the White Moon Senshi pulled her arm back, Markeb quickly turned, cupping the little blue wisp protectively in her hands, and ran the opposite way knowing that most magical attacks had a limit to how far they could reach.

Most…This one, however, did not- it seemed.

One exploded to her right eliciting from her a startled yelp, but Markeb kept moving. The next landed much closer, exploding only a couple of feet away, which caused her to falter in her footsteps and stumble forward a few steps where the third exploded directly in front of her. Green smoke filled the area and with it was a heavy smell of… holidays? Such a strange thing to think about, but if she didn’t know any better she would have thought that she was suddenly inside a Christmas Tree Farm where they were being cut down to be taken home and decorated for the holidays.

To that thought, Markeb did laugh. For such an ominous attack, it wasn’t at all unpleasant to stand in. The pine cones, however, she was less inclined to be hit by, but the smell was quite nice.

“I suppose it’s my turn then…” The little wisp of light she held carefully in her hands glowed a little brighter when she opened her fingers to make sure it was alright. “Stay close, and I’ll protect you.” Markeb smiled reassuringly then, with her back still turned towards the White Moon Senshi, she spoke the name of her own attack quietly “Wish upon a star.”

With no allies nearby, both crystal-looking stars appeared in her own hands each glowing a soft white. “Let’s see if you can dodge mine,” Markeb turned sharply, throwing one then the other towards the other Senshi. She knew well enough that the magic wouldn’t work, even if they were to be picked up, nor with they hurt if they actually hit the woman. What she didn’t think about was the laughter that was heard earlier, or how the light would possibly draw out the little fae-like creatures from their hiding spot and send their curious yet mischievous minds toward to opponent too.

“Heh… her problem, not mine.” Markeb cupped the wisp in her hands again and fled the scene through a nearby mirror.

Sailor Scout Attack: Wish upon a star
After declaring her attack Sailor Merkeb summons two crystal looking star shaped non-physical objects that glow a soft white color. She then chooses 1-2 allies within 10' of her causing the stars to blink from her hands into theirs (she can use a star herself). Whomever is holding the star has 20 seconds to make a wish, downside is that if a wish is not made in the allocated time the white light will fade and it will disappear.

Angelica huffed and stepped out of the way, annoyed that the senshi wasn’t just leaving. Leaving and repenting and just…going away. “Seriously? You’re going to attack me? You’re a coward, a coward who can’t even fight for real. With your fists. Of course you just must know that you’ll lose!”

Her words went unheeded, and the magic that the Dark Mirror Senshi threw…did…absolutely nothing…but then the senshi was gone…she had just left…and that.

Well. That wasn’t very fun either. “Coward!” Angelica cried again, slamming her fist into a tree and then stiffening as she heard the strange laughter once again. Okay. No. Absolutely not.

Moving quickly, she went to the mirror and smashed it with the heel of her foot, satisfied when the glass splintered and tinkled to the ground. At least this would make sure that the senshi didn’t come back. Would make sure that this area was safe…

“...I could just smash all of the mirrors…I bet that would mess them up a lot more than just fighting them one by one…”

The thought made Angelica smile, and even though the laughter continued around her, she left in a rather good mood.

She had a battle plan now.
