Quote: Prompt 4 (Flurries and Flowers): Strange snow flurries have been blowing through town, frosting entire buildings. Sometimes they come out of nowhere--overnight, or in the timespan of just a few short hours. Sometimes, only minutes. Snow falls rapidly and ice coats doors and windows, sealing them shut. These snow flurries are knocking out power, and worse--trapping people in buildings and cars. Sheets of frosty ice build up quickly and have caused major inconveniences. But, it’s not all bad, if you can find a way to appreciate the small things. After these flurries, in addition to the fresh snow and ice, beautiful flowers in the shape of snowflakes have sprouted up, too. They grow in small patches and permeate a pleasant, sweet fragrance. They can grow on any surface, as long as it is covered in snow or ice. If the flowers are not kept in freezing temperatures, they melt, but for the duration of their lifespan they are beautiful, fragile things. Cybele had been honest in her conversation with Encke a few weeks ago. Summer was her favorite season. She had some good memories associated with it, but on top of that, during summer, everything was green, alive. The days felt like they would last forever. Conversely, winter was terrible. It was cold. It was dark. There was no point in going outside for pleasure because everything was dead. Everyday winter was bad enough, but this? She'd been out leading a late class, and then it had started to snow, which was fine, except that five minutes later, everything was covered in ice. Cars were stopped. She got a text from her partners that the door to her house was frozen shut, which meant there was no point in going back. On top of all of that, there was a strangely sweet scent in the air. Magic. Somehow, that made it worse. Something like this had good chance of having the Negaverse behind it, and if they were, then of course Cybele was going to do everything she could to put a stop to it. She'd powered up, but salvaged the boots from her outfit to switch out with her senshi shoes. Then she started trudging around heavily, peeking into every alleyway she could find. She was still complaining under her breath every step of the way, though.

After a time or two out in his slippers Miyamoto had decided to just trade them in for his snowboots, it was just easier. If he could he would have slipped some sort of pants on as well for added layer of warmth. he might like the cold and winter, it might feel comforting in a sort of way, but his skin still didn't like it and he still reacted like other people did. He just did a good job at hiding it most of the time, sometimes it was really trying. Tonight was one of those nights as the chill in the air was enough to take his breath away, something which he didn't mind in a way, but the snow was deep and it had come out of now where and hard - too hard.
Walking through the snow was a bit of a work out, that was for certain, and he could feel a senshi in the area as well. Gritting his teeth, not at all pleased with this, he doubted he could properly fight a senshi in this sort of weather. He might want to, they might as well, but the snow would hinder vision and the snow on the ground would make movement difficult as well.
Doutbing anyone was out and about in the city, in this ******** mess, Miyamoto moved from the allyways to the actual sidewalk and plodded past stores where people seemed unable to get the doors open, he could see them yanking on the doors. Good for them and himself, they were locked in and he could plod on by without them trying to attack him like he was some witch and this was Salem.

The prickle of a Chaos aura on her senses was all it took for Cybele to change direction. She turned one corner, and then another, grumbling under her breath about the cold for a few moments of it. Then she saw who it was and fell silent. Him. The traitor. There might have been others who had betrayed Order, but she couldn't think of anyone who had betrayed her quite so extremely. At least this time, the sight of him didn't make her blood run cold. The winter weather had already taken care of that. The same weather had the unwanted side effect of keeping her from running up to punch him in the face, though. Even with her boots, she could just see herself faceplanting into the sidewalk, and then he might be able to reach down and haul her starseed off to Axinite. Instead she just shook her head at him, and said, "Today's weather is just as lovely as you." Her voice dripped sarcasm.

Turning around to face the senshi he couldn't help but smile. "Why thank you, I find todays weather delightful and beautiful." Though he wasn't a fan of the ice spikes he'd heard of falling from the sky, or the ice locking people into places. But all the snow was lovely to look at, he didn't know how she didn't find it beautiful as well.
"It would seem this is not weather for you to go fighting me is it." Nodding his head towards the obvious boots he'd caught on her feet, not that he was any better really. Snow and ice, and things generally cold, might be his thing but this weather did not get on with him well enough to permit him the ability to fight some senshi.
"I've taken the time to gather energy tonight as I'm sure so very few others are out, less chance of someone attempting to fight me." And it allowed him to get what he needed done.
"Tell me, what are you doing out tonight?? You aren't dressed for this weather at all."

Of course he liked this weather, thought Cybele, and it was really only her theater skills that kept her from rolling her eyes, or making any frustrated noises. Between his magic and the way he acted, she could only assume that he had ice running through his veins instead of warm blood like a normal human. "Try draining anyone's energy and we'll see how much this ice stops me from hurting you," she said, her own tone cool. He would be at the same disadvantages that she was. She doubted that whatever loneliness sphere he had would keep him upright if it came to something like that. The weather did keep her from jumping straight into a fight, however. It would likely keep him from it as well, given that he seemed to rely on backstabbing and magic that turned people against themselves even in more ideal situations. "I'm trying to make sure that there's no dark, nefarious magic causing this unnatural weather," she said with a small shrug. He didn't need to know that she was snowed out of her house.

"Ahh, but that is why I'm out tonight. Though I do doubt many will be out, it is terribly cold isn't it. But you would be glad to know that anyone I take energy from is left in a safe, and warm, place. I am not looking to kill civilians." He didn't mention that it was because some might be, or become, clients of his later on down the road. Also, why kill off your source of energy....kill it off and eventually you have no source of energy. It wasn't a good idea really.
"As far as I know we don't have our hands in this. If we did we would be better prepared for this." They also wouldn't be caught out in it...they'd leave everyone else to deal with what they'd created.
"Something else is doing this." He was certain he'd know if someone was behind this, they would all knig tbaout it - tight?
"So you can rest easy tonight in knowing that it's not some Negaverse plot. We're being good little boys and girls this winter...we all want to make Santa's nice list this year." Smirking as he spoke he tossed in a wink even at her. "I've already put in for a few things I'd like this holiday season."

He was like Sylvite, then. He didn't take starseeds, at least not often. He was gentle enough with his draining victims, and he acted all that gave him some kind of moral high ground even when he did all sorts of other terrible things. It was true that if he was just out draining, it wasn't the worst thing he could be doing, but it wasn't enough to keep Cybele's lip from twitching with that barely restrained rage. He had a debt to settle. When the ice melted, she'd make him pay it. Perhaps sooner, if he didn't back off. Energy draining might not be the worst of the Negaverse's evils, but she'd still do what she could to protect people from it. "I believe you that this isn't your doing," she said. "It's not the Negaverse's style." Now that she had a moment to think about it, it didn't make sense. Perhaps it was some other, less controlled form of Chaos, or some other power that she knew less about, but it wasn't like the Negaverse would want to do something like this that made it harder to reach their victims. "Which I suppose puts you off the hook for the moment." A beat passed. Her eyes didn't leave his, and her gaze was steely. "I still suggest you go home."

"I find that the Negaverse would rather not go messing with the weather...it hinders us and the civilians as well." Neither of which was good. At least she realized this weather wasn't their doing, as she should. Though if they did go messing with the weather it owuld have one good thing going for it - keeping senshi and knights indoors. Maybe they could figure out some sort of lightening, or something, that would only zap senshi and knights every time they went outside powered up.
"I'd rather not go home, I rather like it out here." And it did help that he was powered, when it came to getting through the city. If he tried to walk about as a civlian that would take forever. "Unless you are going home as well, I'll even escort you home." Miyamoto offered. Some might think it was flirting but he was certainly not interested in her, and he was certain she wanted him dead - tough on her. As the wind picked up, and the snow fall suddenly increased, the dark eyed senshi started looking around for a place to duck into. There was a back door he spotted...he was certain it could be forced open and he could slip inside, because he was not about to keep himself out in all this.
"I don't know about you." Plodding towards the side door to a building. "But I'm getting out of this." Grasping the door handle with one hand, and yanking.

At least, she supposed, the weather would hinder him, as well, from doing anything too nefarious. She had meant what she said, about this being stalemate, and she did not try to stop him as he decided to take on one of the frozen-shut doors. Of course he was being contrary about it, but she didn't even grace any of his last threats with a reply. She simply turned and walked away, down the slippery streets. She would take the long way home, and add some extra turns, just in case he had been serious about trying to escort her.
