Quote: Prompt 5 (Snow Fairies): On a cold winter night, when the moon is nearly full and bright in the sky, you hear laughter. At first, you can't place it, but then you feel little pokes and prods, tugs on your hair, your clothes. Sometimes you think you see something out of the corner of your eye--a small, icy body. Sometimes you hear wings flapping in the night. As long as you are out in the cold, you feel eyes on you and you find yourself the target of small mischief from what seems to be icy little fairies, though they move too fast for you to see or grab. They never speak, only laugh. When you go inside, or venture anywhere with too much light or heat, they seem to disappear and do not bother you again. It was a nice cold night, snow having fallen earlier in the day, and the cprrupt senshi was already half done with his quota for the evening. He'd had luck in grabbing couples for a quick energy drain, he left them nice and bundled up once done, he made sure they were safe before he left. They could one day be clients of his and he didn't want to possibly take a client of his away. You never knew what sort of people might walk into a tattoo studio after all, he'd seen an old lady once walk in.
As he drew closer to the city library, he was enjoying the cold air, he heard something. He wasn't sure what the sound was but he turned around, hail dragging behind him and trialing frost scross the ground. Nothing - nothing was there. But he'd heard something and he knew it, it wasn't wind he was certain, something was out here and he just couldn't see it. He didn't like that but he wasn't surprised either, it was winter time in Destiny City.

Though a Royal Knight, Camelot decided to try to patrol in his third stage form this evening, rather than go full power. He was a little more comfortable than his previous outings, at least. The cape in this stage was a lot lighter, especially without the fur, and the snow did not cling to it quite as much. Plus, it did not reach the floor like the one in his Royal regalia, which made it much more manageable as far as the slush left behind be fresh snowfalls went.
The armor acted the same way in either case, though at least there was a little less of it this way. The cold and the metal did not get along very well, which made him thankful for the fabric dressings that kept his body mostly safe. Mostly it was a comfort thing, as he could not quite remember the last time he had been in a battle.
Not a real one, anyway. Plenty of practice ones. And he had been present at some encounters, but as a teacher-type, these days, he did not often engage. When he 'fought' youma, they did not last long, so he did not really count them. Not that he was complaining, either way.
Having powered up just recently, standing on the roof of the library as he always did, he took a moment to register the aura of a Chaos agent nearby. From the feel, it was a corrupt senshi, They had a very distinct aura about them. Sighing, he hopped off the roof, dropping down to the pavement below and landing near the Corrupt. It was a bit of a harder landing than he was used to now, but there was still no harm done.
"Good evening," he said, noting that the Corrupt looked a little distracted.

He'd felt the signature of a knight, he was good enough by now that he could tell senshi from knight, and this aura had him smiling. It had been a while, too long by his reconing, since he'd last run into one of orders children. This one might be fun, he could hope, the sound of metal had him turning and staring. Oh...so this was a real knight - they had armor on. "Which planet actually gives it's knights proper protection?" He called out while shifting his weight a bit.
A step or two taken forward. He might not typically be much for talking but he was curious about this ones clothing. This knight looked like a proper knight, like he'd stepped out of a book, it was what you'd expect when you heard the word knight.
As he got closer he took note of the others appearence and he couldn't help it, though he did decide to show some manners. "Good evening as well. Aren't you abit old to be running around like that? I can't imagine a battle would be a good place for you." He couldn't picture a battle was a place this one could keep up, not with how much younger nearly everyone else would be. Would he just rely on his armor to keep him safe when he got kicked and tossed about? Why would he power up and risk it? Lithiasaur No respect for his elders...smh

Sleet Tempest Snape (Secretly camelot's like 'ow, my feelings ;-; ) The Knight tilted his head at the corrupt, frowning thoughtfully at the question. It was a fair one: lots of knights he met had woefully thin fabric, and sometimes less, protecting them from the battles head of them. It usually got better as they powered up, but there were certainly some planets that did not believe too much in the usefulness of armor.
"This one," he answered, easily enough.
He tried not to wince at the old comment, though there was a slight twitch under his eye as he cleared his throat.
"You're right about one thing. It would not be a very wise decision to start a fight with me," the Royal said as patiently as he could. Being young and reckless was common, in both Order and Chaos. He was not one to barrel head first into a fight, though he could see his new companion was on the 'punch first, talk later' side of things. Chaonis, Camelot's son, was a lot like that, too. And now Carlisle. Those two were spending far too much time together, actually, and were clearly influencing each other.
"It might be best for you to head back to where ever you call home: there is no energy for you to find tonight. Not in this area."

"Earth, so this planet actually cares about it's knight. It figures that Earth would have actual knights." What people thought of when they thought of Knights. It was fitting, he'd give that.
"You sound confident." And that wasn't something to over look, as much as he'd like to just attack the other and think about it all later. The other knew he was old and despite that he was the one being warned, the other didn't seem worried. That armor wouldn't save him from the handicap his age would place on him. There was a reason.
"You're only one rank higher than myself...so what are you hiding. You're too old to be joking and you don't sound like you're bluffing or in posession of an over inflated ego. So what has you so confident that I can't win in a fight." He wasn't stupid....there was something hidden here, something he should know. "Aside from experience." If it was just that, experience, he would be annoyed. Experience didn't always mean you would win in a fight. It did give a better chance to the person but it wasn't the end all be all.
Taking a moment to look up towards the night sky, ant the full moon above, he could appreciate the light it cast down on them...though it wasn't as bright as it would be if they were outside of this city. Slowly he brought his dark eyes back onto the knight. As he did he swore he heard laughter, like a whisper, in his ear. That wasn't the wind, he was certain of it, but there was nothing next to him either - he turned to check.

Camelot chuckled, holding his hands up at the other's assessment. It was true, Earth Knights tended to look like the classic idea of a knight, based on human histories and fantasy tales, but he had seen some very interesting knight uniforms in his many years. While he was not sure one was better than any other, he did feel bad for the knights that got less-than-weather appropriate outfits when it was hot or cold.
His, at least, was comfortable enough during any weather, minus the heavy cape in heat.
"Only one rank higher? That's quite a lot, in the scale of power. Not to mention that experience, which you mock as being old. I've never enjoyed fighting, but believe me, I'm not bad at it, either. I'm giving you a chance to go home, and end this before it becomes violent." Camelot was a patient man, though he could see this little spitfire was not interested in peaceful options already.
Just in case, Camelot called his shield to his arm, the massive plate of metal over half his own height. He had not seen this shield in a little while, used to the one with the massive wings in his Royal stage. A nostalgic look came to his face as he regarded it, though he tried to shake it off quickly.
"Distracted?" he asked, noting the way the other glanced away. "Or maybe looking for that way out I'm offering."

Why did he make it sound like he was questioning their rank difference? There was no way the knight was so aura blind, which he was aware was not a word, to think he was some basic level corrupt right? No, he couldn't be not when he was calling age experience.
"Age and experience are two different things. Age is age to the body. Experience is not the same, it's not the normal aging and weathering of the body." He did think the two things different in many ways, yet also in some ways perhaps the same or similar. But now was not one of those times. He was using them as different things.
"You have experience, I'll give that, but the age is still a downfall. The body can't handle as much with age, even when the experience is there." Someone might do a job for a long time but after time the body would wear and not perform the same job to the same abilities. It was just that simple.
Though he didn't say anything else, even if he had been going to, when a sheild just seemed to appear. "You didn't hear that? Laughter...like some female laughing at a distance?" He questioned the other, he knew what he'd heard. "It was like an echo...but without the reverb. Just at a distance but it carried well." Ok, he was not going ******** nuts, he'd swear that, but he heard laughter and the other hadn't? How in the hell not? Lithiasaur He swears he isn't insane.

Camelot sighed, not bothering to glance around. He knew that the noises would not really lead him to answers, as he had encountered these little laughing things before. They were bothersome, but so far not harmful in any way. At least as far as he had been able to tell.
"It's a strange little thing, whatever is making that noise," he said, though he was getting used to small things making a lot of noise. He took a calming breath, trying not to let the comments about his age get to him. He had not exactly been a young man when he started this whole endeavor, after all, though he knew it would all be much harder without the boosts his impressive magical pool gave him.
He tried not to think too hard about it, as he knew exactly what he was still capable of. And anyway, he often tried to reach the peaceful options first, and avoid having to put any of those thoughts or ideas to the test.
Sometimes, a lesson was easier taught the harder way. It was roundabout logic, and yet he could see it was one this Corrupt needed to learn.
"Well, I suppose there's only one way to see how much I can or cannot handle. I'll even give you the first move, if you'd like. But if I win, you have to promise to call it a night. And not return to this area for energy. That is, of course, if you're not too distracted all of a sudden." He tried to sound slightly mocking, though it was not exactly his forte and never had been.

"So you've heard it as well then - do you hear it now?" He questioned, even as he heard it again, and felt a tugging at his hair as well. Something had tugged at the end of his hair. "I don't sense anything." Nothing chaos or order. So what was it precisely, that was what he wanted to know. Hedidn't like the idea of not knowing and not sensing, being in the blind really, it annoyed him.
As the knight brought the conversation back around, to better things, he nodded slowly. Something was not being said, he was certain of it, there was no way the other was offering a first shot for no reason. He had a card up his sleeve and Miyamoto knew it, though he didn't know what was hidden, he figured it might be worth it to try.
"Before I do anything, tell me something. What is making the noise - it is not a risk to any of us? Civilian or otherwise?" He did wonder about that, he didn't need to deal with it as a civilian. The idea of something he couldn't see attacking him, especially in public, was not give a warm fuzzy feeling.
He did wait for an answer, he gave the other time, he wasn't going to ask something and not give time. When he had his answer he finally moved to take a swing at the older males face, an easy opening move. Lithiasaur Sorry on slowness, busy working and than a few days not feeling well.

Sleet Tempest Snape I'm the one that should apologize! <333 The incognito Royal Knight looked concerned for a moment, then sighed and shrugged his shoulders. He tilted his head, listening but could not hear the giggles. At least not right then, but maybe they had found a more interesting target in the other.
He could see why they would like picking on someone who was much more confused and concerned about them than Camelot was. He had learned to roll with the punches, sometimes literally, when the magic of the city and the world at large demanded it. That was not to say he did not get annoyed by certain things, from time to time, but in general he was pretty hard to catch off of his guard.
He tried not to smile, though, as Miyamoto pondered.
"I think it's harmless," he offered, 'the noise, I mean. I think it's just a part of the season. Strange things always happen, especially in the later part of the year. Honestly, you don't have to worry too much about that." He was surprised, but it did at least calm the initial heat of the encounter, calming the Knight back down to his normal levels of peaceful will.

That was not an answer he liked, not really. It was harmless, at least the knight said as much, but that didn't mean it always would be and assuming neither side was the cause of it and the cause was unknown was concerning. Whatever caused it might change it's mind, might be seeking some long term goal, who knew.
"How can everyone accept random magic that is caused by something unknown? With unknown intentions and perhaps some sentience." He didn't like that idea at all, he didn't like an unknown which might have power and thought, especially when he couldn't fight this unknown.
"How has your side not dealt with this issue?" Never mind his own side having not dealt with it yet. But why did order not think it something malicious, at best, and possibly more dangerous than the Negaverse. After all it certainly could become such, considering there were giant ice shards falling from the sky amongst other things.
"Or does your side not see the possible problem here?" Lithiasaur It's ok, I promise. Real life happens, trust me. @.@

"There are plenty of things in our day to day lives, in this powered war, that neither side can claim, nor explain. Even the origins of our magic, or the ties between our sides and just how deep they run. Magic is an endless, timeless, and ethereal thing that we are allowed to draw from, learn about, and utilize in our very limited capacities," Camelot said, noticing how riled up the other was about this whole thing. He chuckled, though, waving his hand at the snow.
"But that understand is as fleeting and surface level as the snow that falls on too warm a day. We take what we can get, take each experience for what it is, and learn from it as best we can. But that in no way means we will ever find the explanations for everything this planet, and all those beyond it, can offer us."
He did not seem particularly troubled, his eyebrows lifted in amusement and mild curiosity at this point. Maybe he was just too experienced, in his way, and maybe he was taking something simple for granted when it could have been a problem. But he had instincts and understanding on his side, and felt no strong amount of doubt in his conclusions.
"I would wager there are things you do, experience, and are exposed to in your day to day, or night to night, in Chaos that you do not question, yet cannot explain. That would mean you simply accept it, but that doesn't make you wrong to do so. 'My side' just does not see everything as an issue, when it is just trying to exist. Perhaps there is a problem, that will warrant solving, but at the moment I am not going to act on the possibility of one. Why treat something with hostility, right out of the gate? You would gather far more understanding with a gentler approach, after all. That doesn't mean we're not on guard: we're just willing to give things a chance."
The Royal Knight chuckled, not sure how he managed to let himself warble on so long. It always happened, though.
"At least, I always am."

He was right about some things, without a doubt, there were things which science couldn't explain but he accepted. Starseeds was a big thing...and wher the Negaverse was located...and life on other planets and stars and such. There was a lot but this magic, whatever had just tugged at his hair, was from from the Negaverse and didn't have tied to the white moon either. Perhaps they'd find out it had such ties, eventually, but for now it was an unknown third party with possible motives of some sort. He didn't like the unknown really.
"I'll consent that you are right on some things, I still dislike an unknown third sort of magic, that it causes all manor of things to happen." He didn't like a third party involved when there was no face to it...nothing to know about it. It was just something ti sit back and deal with and accept. It didn't sit well with him, he'd rather know and determine what to do with it.
"I doubt my side sees this as an issue as well, at least for the majoprity, I simply dislike this unknown." It was a him thing...not a Negaverse thing.
"This city is a mess. Tell me, you've been around a long time. Was this happening before senshi, knights and the Negaverse or did it start up after people started to awaken?"

Camelot chuckled at that. He imagined there were far more types of magics in the universe than they could ever fully comprehend. Their little world was only getting bigger and bigger, as more and more doors opened and strange things came through cracks that most were not even aware of. He had learned, in large part, to take it all in stride, and to act when action was necessary.
But that was age and experience, playing on his side. At least he could use it to his advantage every once in a while, instead of it just being a way to make a joke about him. He was old, and very much aware of it, and yet most still felt the need to point it out to him. And rather rudely, to boot.
At least the other was willing to give a little ground, Camelot nodding his head in appreciation. It was unlikely that anyone was too worried about these little giggly things, whatever they were. Seasonal magical run off.
Trying not to twitch, he sighed, waving his hand.
"I actually awakened a good while after I first came in contact with Senshi and the Negaverse, though I had not encountered a Knight before then. I had seen many other strange things, too, before stepping into this strange world myself. I get the impression that civilian life grants us a bit of magical reprieve from being too aware: there is no real way of knowing how many of the odd things I experienced in my life could have been magical in nature. But that's the nature of magic, I suppose. If we could understand it easily, we would all be living much different lives. Or we would have all destroyed each other completely, at this point."
Though, sometimes it did still feel that would be the ultimate result, anyway.

So the other wasn't certain these things had been happening before he'd powered up for the first time, but things might have happened. But there had been others awakened before himself. Maybe he could find someone who had powered up before this knight, however much he doubted this, and find out about all these magical things. Because however much he needed to just accept it, he couldn't fight what he didn't know about, he did want to know how long this had all been going on and how he'd not noticed it when he was growing up.Had it only started up when the first senshi and knights had awakened...had it come hand in hand with them and this fight? Or had it led to the awakening, as he was calling it for now.
"I dislike not understanding the magic which neither side controls." Shaking his head as he took a few steps back, ignoring when he felt something tug at his uniform and his hair. It was irritating for him to try and ignore it, when he could feel it, as he refrained from responding to it.
He didn't like backing away from things, he didn't like walking away from a senshi or a knight, but this one was hiding something and he was certain of it. He might normally jump right into attacking but there was pause here, and he was he was right in pausing here, this one wasn't jumping right into fighting him either. There was something here....
Shaking his head he hissed when his hair, closer to his scalp, was yanked on. "Time to go I think. Whatever this magic is has a thing for my hair." And he was not interested in having his hair plucked him his scalp.
That said the corrupt senshi turned and headed off, he was not dealing with this wintertime madness...it might just drive him mad. He had some things to think about anyway after talking to the knight.
Lithiasaur Gonna call this a fin if it's ok with you.
