Power. Power was…well. It was nice.
Lepidolite had called her into his office after the school day ended and let her know she was being promoted and…and damn she felt good about it. Proud about it.
…Her weapon still looked the same, but it could do some damage if she hit someone hard enough, that was easy to see, and Retzian couldn’t keep the pleased smile off of her face.
It was a little silly that the weapon still looked like a jellyfish…but now it had some sting and…it did look good with the strange water effects on the rest of her uniform. Patrolling tonight was going to be wonderful, and the fact that she could teleport now…it…
It would exhaust her, Lepidolite had warned but…
But that didn’t stop her.
A moment later, Retzian appeared in the middle of one of her favorite parks and patrol areas, grinning but feeling utterly drained. She didn’t notice the aura of senshi until it was nearly right on top of her, and when she spun around to look towards where the senshi was, a wave of dizziness engulfed her and she swayed, resting against a tree for support while the world spun around her.

Dagon felt her own power simmering under her fingertips. It felt good to be getting stronger again--not back to where she was, certainly, but that was alright. There was time enough for that. Clearly, coming to Earth was the right decision.
(No that she'd had many other options. "Come here and have a chance to live" or "stay on Dagon and wither away with her world.")
And power wasn't the only reason. Brooklyn was here--and in Dagon's heart, she was sure of it. That was her daughter, reborn, with a second chance to be what she should have been. Kurma was here, and remembered her. It wasn't hard to guess that other people she had once known might walk this world, either reincarnated or as themselves.
The aura of a Negaverse Captain drew her attention, and she frowned. Best to check it out, make sure nothing nefarious was happening. So she approached, wary--would this be someone misguided and foolish, or someone malicious?
"Misguided and foolish," at first glance, seemed to be winning, when she spotted the person that had to be giving off the aura. She looked almost...ill.
"Should you really be out, if you're unwell?" Dagon asked, tone more concerned than judging.

“No unwell, just tired.” The words were out of her mouth before she had a chance to really think about them, and she bit her tongue a moment later, annoyed that she had even responded to the senshi. “I’m still well enough to fight you though, don’t think that I’m not.”
Moving slowly, Retzian managed to straighten up, finally taking a good look at her would be opponent and paused, drawing in a breath through her teeth.
It was another one. Or…no. It couldn’t be Lavendulan, even though it looked like it could be…but…this woman was a different color of blue, and more…more fish like and…
The Captain stared openly and then summoned her weapon to her hand, scowling. “Don’t know what you think tonight will be like, but I’m well enough to kick your a**, I’m sure.”

As soon as the woman spoke, Dagon felt as if she had been stabbed. That voice--it was so familiar.
And then the captain looked up, all biting and threats, and the blade passed through Dagon's heart.
She staggered backwards, eyes wide in shock.
"I know you," something in her heart sang. "I know you, and I have been searching for you, and here you are--"
Those eyes. That hair. That face--not exactly the same, now, but similar enough, on a human. It was, without a doubt, her Kalari, she was certain of it. And yet here she was, in the uniform of the Negaverse, and it pulled Dagon in a thousand directions. There was rage, of course. Rage that Chaos had dared touch the starseed of her beloved, that it dared to corrupt someone so precious. Rage that she had failed to find Kalari--or, well, whatever her new name was--first, and save her before Chaos drew her in, like she had--she hoped--managed to with Brooklyn.
But there was grief, too. An oncoming tidal wave of it.
Because Kalari would not know her.
"I do not wish to fight you," Dagon said, and she knew that the torrent of emotions she was feeling had to be bubbling up, pouring over. "I know you. Or--I knew the person you used to be."

Of all the things Retzian was expecting to hear, this was not one of them. She frowned and her brows shot up, a confused, disbelieving expression on her face. “...All right. That’s a new one, I suppose. Care to explain, Miss Fishy?”
The insult didn’t come easily, and for a moment, the Captain’s eyes lingered on the pale blue webbed fingers of the senshi, and she half wondered what they would feel like caressing her face…but.
“Knew the person I used to be. That. Really is vague and rather ominous, you know. If it’s supposed to be a pick up line, it’s not a very good one.”
Except. Maybe it was. It had her interested at the very least. Had her almost wanting to hear more.
She was beautiful, and Retzian was almost tempted to move closer, to see if she could get those hands to touch her face.

Miss Fishy. Dagon supposed she must look quite strange, if Kalari-but-not had never seen any of her like before.
She couldn't help but smile, even if it was wan and miserable, and sigh. How was she going to explain this? How much had the Negaverse told her, and what lies was she going to have to undo?
"My name is Dagon," she introduced herself, as much as that felt like a lie on her tongue when she was speaking to the reincarnation oft he woman that held her heart, "and I have been alive for nearly one thousand, three hundred years, by your Earth's reckoning, and I knew the person they your starseed used to belong to."
She exhaled. "You look...so much like her. I recognized you as soon as I saw your face."

She wrinkled her nose, frowning. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” For some reason, it made her feel both angry and terribly sad, and Retzian didn’t like that feeling.
Holding on to her weapon a little more tightly, she shook her head. “I’m not sure I like how that sounds, and I think I’m going to take offense to it. You’re saying that I’m someone that you used to know? You don’t know me at all.”
Sneering, Retzian launched herself at Dagon, her new jellyfish whip raised. “I am myself, and nobody that you know, and I don’t care if my face reminds you of someone else. I’m me. Captain Retzian.”

Dagon stumbled backwards, eyes wide. Somewhere along the way, it seemed, she had stumbled, and made Retzina--at least now she knew her name, Retzian, she would remember that--angry.
Well, perhaps it wasn't so much of a surprise.
But that was alright.
Retzian was Chaos, but Retzian was alive. And alive meant that she could be saved.
"I apologize, Captain Retzian. I really did not want to fight you. Aura of Dread."
Her magic came to hand easily. If she could scare Retzian off, this didn't have to escalate, and she could regroup and decide how to try again later.Quote: Dagon touches her fist to her chest, and a strange fog begins to swirl around her. Enemies within twelve feet of Dagon will see her as something monstrous and dreadful, and experience a sense of oncoming doom in her presence. The sense of dread around her is oppressive, and can make it hard to breathe or focus on anything but that feeling. These effects last for 35 seconds, and Dagon can use this spell twice per battle.

Retzian paused and stared, wide eyed at the fog, at the magic. This…wasn’t something she was used to…or something that she knew what to do with…it.
She couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t breathe and for a moment it felt like back when she was drowning. When she was playing that insane boardgame…when…
Swallowing hard, Retzian shuddered, and then finally turned and took off, wanting to teleport but not having the energy to, wanting to do anything to just get away…and she broke into a run, using every last bit of energy she had.
Insane. She was insane.
And Retzian didn’t have the time for that.
