He could not believe this s**t.
How the HELL are they swimming from a giant, ink-covered OCTOPUS?! How did this thing even exist?!
Damien, while normally not afraid of things, could not excuse the sickening feeling of dread in the pit of his belly. He looked to his younger brother, “The ******** did this happen?” One moment they were chilling on some nice waves and then the creature from hell decided to try and pull them both under. They barely escaped and were now dodging ink tentacles left and right. The shore was rapidly approaching, they just needed a moment longer.
-------
Cass frowned at his brother, “Damien I swear, shut up and swim. Who cares, it's trying to kill us?” He just barely dodged a tentacle and his board wasn’t helping, but he certainly didn't have time to cut himself free. When his feet kicked dirt, he had never been so relieved. He stood and book it for the shore, dragging his board as he tried to free his arm of the tie.
First the ******** Halloween game that appeared out of no where ans tried to kill them, now the sealife was trying to unalive him. Serves them right for surfing at sunset, but the temperatures promised to drop over the current week and they wouldn’t be able to surf without freezing soon.
-------
Damien didn't have the focus to narrow his eyes at Cass’s comment, barely touching the shore only to feel something slimy wrapping around his throat. His hands instinctively went for his throat, slamming his fists into the offending tentacle as hard as he could. The grip around his neck only tightened which annoyed the poor man instead of frightening him. Black started to creep along the edges of his vision, the force behind his fists getting weaker by the second.
s**t, he didn't want to die like this.
He could feel movement as the creature started to get out of the water, following Cass’s retreating form. Just as he thought he was going to die of suffocation, the tentacle released him, the fall to the ground was no better since he fell face first into the sand. Damien picked up his face with a groan, coughing and gasping to bring in air. His vision was slowly coming back and with it, something that looked interesting. He couldn't explain why but it seemed like the item was… Calling him? The ********> the bigger man started crawling towards the object, steadily gaining more stamina. An all consuming need came over him as he was soon picking himself up.
-------
At first Cass didn't realize his brother wasn’t behind him, looking over his shoulder only to see him being nearly choked to death by the creature. He scrambled without thinking, grabbing his board up and running toward the creature. Surely he has lost his damn mind, but that thing dropped his brother and headed for him.
The thing had a whole body, sort of like a barbie in all its undefined parts, but it wasn't just an octopus. A tentacle shot out at him and he swung the board only for the monster to catch it and grab him with another tentacle trying to pry the board out of his hand.
“Damien, I know it almost offed you, but I could use a hand here.”
-------
Damien blinked, cursing and looking at his brother for all of five seconds, “Yeah Yeah! I know little brother I got you uhhhh….Give me a second Da? Look uhh….Distract it with Italian or something?! You know that works on Mercy and clearly that thing has female stuff to it! Just go ham like papa!” He turned back and reached down to grab the pulsating object, frowning when some light engulfed him and there was a sudden breeze in places that there shouldn't have been earlier. He took one look down and nearly jumped out of his skin.
“The ********?! Cass I'm in a ******** TOGA?!”
It was then that he remembered his brother was in dire straits and needed help. “I'm coming!” He charged forward, leaping up slamming his fist down on top of the octopus’s head, stumbling back at the sheer amount of force that was used. He looked down at his fist with a mild shock before a knowing grin appeared on his face. “Oh HELL yes!”
-------
Cass was being lifted off the ground when Damien asked for five seconds. “Are you kidding, I'm not trying to woo it.” He was however indeed speaking Italian just not to distract the monster, but instead yelling at his brother angrily.
That octopus monster managed to pry him from his board them proceeded to slam him into the ground. If it wasnt for the sand, Cass was sure he would have broken a rib or worse. His brother was shouting about being in a toga, but Cass was more concerned about the board about to crash into him.
Damien very narrowly saved him and Cass looked at him like he’d grown a second head. How the ******** did he end up a toga.
Cass rolled frowning as he noticed something blue on the ground in front of him. He felt like whatever it was, it was just for him. He ignored it because no wasn't the time to get distracted and the monster had all tentacles poised to attack his brother. Still the blue whatever nagged at the edge of his senses and he grabbed it quickly before jumping up to help his brother.
A moment later he was also in a toga and somehow he knew he was Palmyra.
-------
Hali was looking all proud of himself, even in the ridiculous toga. However, he wasn't expecting the same thing to happen to Cass, that was something new. “Wait you too?! Try hitting it before it hits us…” He almost had the idea to throw Cass at the thing like a javelin but he was sure the blonde would have his hide. The monster waved it's tentacles, slamming into Hali hard enough to knock him over, some of the air leaving his lungs. “Geezus!” He recovered quickly though, much to his surprise, giving the offending tentacle a nice spartan kick.
Very fitting considering his outfit.
For some odd reason the name Halicarnassius was ticking at the back of his head, so he just went with it. Looking at his brother, Hali grinned, “Tag team?”
-------
Cass wondered briefly if all the weirdness of late was leading up to this moment, but he didn't think too deeply on it. He didn't have time, because his brother was telling him to hit it first and the monster was violently flailing tentacle and managed to punch in the kidneys.
He heard his brother call out tag team and he smirked and quickly moved closer to his brother. “You go left, I go right,” he said fist poised and ready to take down this beast or die trying. He would very much not like to make his wife a widow.
He took off right rolling and grabbing his board before swinging it as hard as he could at the monster, shocked at how it somehow felt lighter.
-------
Now if Hali were paying attention he would wonder just how his board became detached from him and where it went at that point. But since he was having way too much fun, the board was an afterthought. He quickly dashed left, taking note of Cass being very resourceful with his board, going for a cold hard hit to the same tentacle he just kicked at earlier. The youma wailed and tried to go in for another hit to the side but failed, the scream of agony causing quite the sadistic smile to appear on Hali’s face. He had managed to stop the tentacle by stomping on it with as much force as possible.
He never skipped leg day so that HAD to hurt.
His fist landed successfully, just as Cass’s board had hit from the other side. Damn he was glad he trained his brother oh so very well in the art of a** whoopin. Lord knows if that had been anyone else but him they might have struggled a little.
-------
The youma tried to focus on both of them, but with Damien landing blows it was harder for it to keep focus on Cass. His board collided with the youma, slashing through a flailing tentacle and connecting with its side before it little turned into dust. Dust littering down around them on the beach making it look like it hadn't even been there.
Cass dropped his board and sighed in relief, “tag team is the best bro, but that was weird as ******** looked down to his toga, looking himself over for a moment and noticing the blue things he’d seen before were fingerless gloves. He flexed his hands, “you get another name too. It's like I just somehow know I’m Palmyra. I wonder how we can undo it.”
-------
“Weird as ******** don't cover it….” now that the threat was gone, he decided to take a better look at his outfit. He noticed the gauntlets on his arms and raised an eyebrow, “Yeah, I noticed that….Halicarnassius just came to me out of nowhere…” That was another question, How they hell are they going to undo it? Standing out here in the open made Hali feel like they were opening themselves to another attack or something, “We should head home….Bet Rose is gonna love the new look. Make a great costume.” Right, he could be the Spartan king finally coming home to his queen after a long battle….He liked that scenario, great way to get laid and quickly.
Yep, Home was the best bet.
He looked around and finally found his board, grabbing it and noticing how light it was. He was strong but the board did have a little weight to it when they first went out today, so that was weird. He also noticed the speed they had while they were battling ms tentacles earlier. Perk of being like this maybe? “Ready to go?”
-------
Cass laughed and smirked, “Knowing Rose, you won't be wearing it long … Im mean you're already not wearing much … Neither of us are. But, yeah let's go home. We’ll figure out how to undo this when we get there and another day when we can try to find out what all this is about.”
“Glad I’ve got some shorts in the car, we look very strange and Halloween is over. I’ll text you when I get in. Let me know if you figure out a way out of this,” he said motioning to his new get up.
