Work had been anything but pleasent today, aside from the heater being broken, he'd had a client towards the end of the day who had been just disgusting - that was the only word for it. He'd been inking them, a tattoo on the inner thigh, when they'd had an...accident right at his work station while they were working. He wasn't sure what was worse the smell or having his gloved hands and what he was workong on contaminated.

He'd managed to keep his calm, if not becoming a bit colder towards the customer, as he'd handled the situation and than sent them home unfinished. There was no way he was finishing with that smell in his place and having them remain in piss soaked underwear because he'd needed them to take their damn pants off in order to tattoo them. They'd wanted it so high up their thigh there was no other option, as any pants would not roll so high and shorts had not been worn.

They'd gotten mad at him ending things, for whatever reason they seemed uncaring of their state of being, and tried to fight him on things. He'd ende it all shiftly, he was not dealing with such nonsense bullshit, and had sent them home. He'd handle them another day, a day when they hopefully decided to let him know they needed to piss.

That over and done with he'd finished the day and headed off to get a coffee. What he'd not planned on was wandering a bit, wandering into a part of the city he rarely even crossed into, he was not the short for these sorts of expensive and boujee places. But he'd wandered a lot, more than he'd realized, and so he'd entered a coffee shop to grab a drink while trying to avoid the looks. He damn well knew he'd garner looks from people, especially when he pushed up his sleeves because the place was too darm warm - it was almost smothering. At least they took his order and most people just stared and turned away after a few moments, no one seemed willing to speak up or question him being here. Reaching up to move his bangs from his face he managed to contain a sigh, he hated places like this. Leaning against a wall, as far away from everyone as possible, he waited for his order. Hopefully no one would bother him and maybe once h e got out of here he'd power up and head home, maybe do some hunting on the way.

It did sound like a very good idea considering the day he'd had....yes - he liked that idea. He could only hope he'd find a senshi or a knight to deal with - he hoped they'd scream. Smiling as he continued thinking, hoping, he almost didn't catch his name being called but there it was - his order. Moving to grab his drink he headed outside and made for an alleyway so he could power up, his drink set aside as he did so. It was the first time he'd powered up with his small collection of piercings in, something he knew wasn't the best of ideas, but as he picked up his drink and headed off sipping it he found he didn't care. If someone dared try and touch them he'd bust their damn fingers before wrecking them. The thoughts dancing about in his mind, like sugar plum fairies, had him letting the ground around him frost over and the air about him chill. Oh this would be a good night - he was sure of it.

Work had been ... work, that day. Inexplicably boring, as always. It felt like Adam was going to crawl out of his own skin to get himself out of his predicament, and he desperately wanted to. It was so easy now to call upon something else and be something much closer to what brewed under the surface than the contained formality he projected. He supposed he would eat up his time creating a new maze for his latest maze book; perhaps it would give him ideas for something else he could do, later.

Or it would occupy him, at least.

It had occupied better than the meetings and the office lunches and the return to blase spreadsheets, at least, and the thoughts about how to complete them occupied him until the end of the day.

Adam stopped at one of his current cafe haunts after he was finally able to flee from the building. It was a trendier place, at least, recently opening outside of the financial district with hopes to capture their richer pockets. It was working, for certain, with the amount of more expensive drinks he saw leave. His drink was a bit more expensive, festive as he was wont to do at this time of year. Cinnamon blend, apparently, if he cared to inspect what he had actually gotten.

He sipped it as he left, sliding against one of the buildings he did.

Spicy. Hm.

In one moment, he was Adam. In the next, he was Borax.

A patrol and an easy path to his also freshly released coworkers leaving him the ******** alone--

It was the feeling of someone nearby, someone weaker than himself, which caught his attention and had the corrupt turning around. Someone, a Lieutenant he figured, was around where he'd just been but he couldn't pin down the signature. "Hmmm." Sipping his drink as frost trailed behind him as his hair moved along the ground like an inky black river snaking behind him in a sinken train. It was entierly too early to go calling out for someones attention - too many people out and about. He wasn't interested in getting the attention of normal civilians, not to night anyway, he didn't care to deal with them.

They were useful for their energy at best...and useless at worst. He wouldn't pull there starseeds...senshi and knights however....he'd take those. But as he drew closer he was sure the lieutenant had to sense him...he was too close now. Would they investigate and find him? Would they avoid him and flee? He stood in a back alley, near a dumpster, waiting.

Borax had been enough signatures by this point that he had picked up on what the sensation that felt like it crawled up his neck was. There was another member of his "organization" around somewhere, though he wasn't exactly sure where. The signature did not feel as if it was a blister like Faustite's did, but did not contain the same subtlety as Cryolite's. Easy to conclude that this was either a captain or a super senshi.

Either may be worth his approach, especially if this happened to be a member of his direct chain of command. Was Jadarite out? Or perhaps this was one of the myriad supers that Faustite seemed to have at his own beckon.

He wasn't sure how to start his pursuit, though it had quickly become obvious to him that his fellows often took to the back paths. It was valid as a mechanism to stay hidden, especially considering none of the outfits he had seen so far were built to blend in. If he was in Greece or Albania, he might have gotten away with it, but even then, fustanella were frequently entirely white as a base color. He wore black.

So, he'd try there.

What caught his attention first was the trail of frost -- reminded him of Cryolite, but so far as he could tell, he wasn't capable of that. Still, he pursued it, until he saw the unmistakably long hair of a corrupted senshi. A super, then.

"Out on a patrol?" His tone was as smooth as butter.

Turning his focus to the new comer his head inclined in greeting before he nodded, something of a malicous smile creeping up onto his features. "Of course, no better way to end a long day." This was, in his opinion, a perfectly good way to end a long work day - especially a bad one. Now if he could find a senshi or aknight to kill he would be especially pleased.

"And yourself? What brings a Lieutenant out on there own this evening?" Not that they couldn't hold there own, he was sure they could. He'd been more than willing to dive headfirst into a fight on his own when he's been a basic senshi. He'd even risked himself by attacking a senshi infront of a large group of senshi and knights, whilst being a senshi himself at the time. But sometimes you had to be a bit crazy to get your point across, and his point was that they all needed to convert or die. It also helped that when you appeared to be a loose cannon the other side didn't know how to handle you; which was nice. Leave them unsure what was to come next and all that.

A sip of his hot drink, clasped between both hands in a manner similar to how Japanese people drank there tea. Miyamoto shifted his weight and took a moment to look the other over fully. The uniform was interesting...was that a skirt?
PostPosted: Thu Dec 08, 2022 7:41 am

So this super was inclined to patrols after shift, too. Borax could appreciate that, his brows lifting as he nodded in acknowledgement. Had he found himself in an organization of people who were in part trying to escape their daily lives? It couldn't be, entirely, not when he had been recruited by an infiltration captain for presumable infiltration purposes. That did require him to maintain some degree of affiliation with his job, no matter how much his powers may make him no longer need them.

"Similarly, if you'd believe it. Work is very dry in my field." He took another sip of his cinnamon-blended coffee. Frappe? He hardly paid attention to what it was specifically, only that it was seasonal. Presumably, as the snow fell, this drink was what he was to speak of. It was ... okay. Not boring at least. "I recently got off shift and decided being in a different skin for a while would be preferable."

A different skin, which on the inside for some of them could hold fire, could hold magic, could hold teleportation, could hold the power to clutch souls and hold them in his own hands, yank them out as if they had no rights to the chests in which they had sat in the first place.

"General expects me to start bringing in quota, and I plan to succeed in that. Same for you?"

"Ah, while my job may not be dry by any means I do find myself wanting to go out after some days more than others." He always did want to power up, he wanted to hunt down senshi and knights. It was, for him anyway, more important than meeting quota though he did make sure to do that. He wasn't about to fail the officer who had brought him in, even if he hadn't seen them in a long while. The mark they'd left on him was a reminder.

"No, the one who brought me in I've not seen in some time. I like to go out hunting for senshi and knights. I want to leave bodies in my wake." Let the other side know how serious he was about removing them from the war, and thus ending the war. He had no issue in getting his hands dirty, some might think he even fancied the idea.

"I needed a hot drink tonight though." To go with the frosty chilly which hung about him, and trailed over the ground about his slippered feet.

"Perhaps some company would suit you tonight?"

So this one had a vested interest in the torment of senshi and knights in particular, and it seemed self-motivated. That was interesting to him. Borax couldn't quite deny the appeal of bodies in his wake, but he also knew what he had been told by Jadarite. Better to pick people who wouldn't be noticed for his own collection so the Negaverse didn't have to do too much clean up. Borax shouldn't be too obvious.

Of course, he followed a captain of Infiltration. It sounded like this super didn't follow any particular authority at all, and perhaps he was aligned under a different division. There was a part of him that envied that; listening to the authority of others felt internally abrasive.

On the other hand, it had given him a group of people to mine knowledge and experience for both his own benefit. For the benefit of the organization as well, of course, which could only benefit him in turn. If they saw him as useful, perhaps they would be inclined to let the firey general funnel more power into his starseed.

"A hot drink and bodies in your wake?" Borax somehow sounded sultry about the concept. "Sounds like a good evening. Count me in."

Perhaps this was one of the members of SpecOps.

"Mmm, good to know someone doesn't have a weak stomach for such things." Some did and he honestly couldn't understand why. This was a war and they were the enemy - do what you must to win. If winning meant killing a few, or many, what was the problem? It also was that he lacked some morals he'd had taught to him by his parents and his childhood...that helped - a lot. All he knew was he'd lost his home, family, and everything because of the otehr side - because they had forced him into this war.

"Shall we go hunting than?" He questioned as he made a grandious gesture for the other to lead the way. "I shall follow if it pleases you. Let the newer decide where they want to go tonight." Whjat was comfortable for them. He wouldn't push a new member in any direction, not if they weren't up for it. Though this one seemed into the idea of killing, if it came to it, he would let them decide things tonight. Reaching up to brush his hair from his face, fingers trailing over the scar of bite marks on his neck. He couldn't help but wonder where Wolframite was...he would make him proud, whether he knew what Miyamoto ever did or not. He'd work as if the other knew...as if he had to make him proud.

Perhaps he should have had a weaker stomach than he did. It was hard to feel sympathy, though, when he wasn't sure if the people they hunted, as Miyamoto described, truly counted as people. They were farming their souls. At what point did he decide he had been accepted into an organization which went a bit further than just using people to their advantage and instead simply were using them as cattle?

He sure didn't have a soft spot for cattle.

A super suggesting him lead caused his brows to loft momentarily. Not something he had expected, necessarily, with the concern over rank that seemed intrinsic to the Negaverse, but also nothing he would complain about. "Absolutely can take the reins." It was good practice, in any case. 'It sounded like you were focused on the forces of the White Moon tonight. Had you already felt any?"

He sipped from his frappe like they were simply talking office gossip as he slipped forward and further into the alley, focusing on the energies he felt around them. It still required some practice, but Borax had started to attune to what he needed to notice with his new senses. Something that threatened to blind him was too much, but a light like an irritant breaking the ambiance of a good movie was more accurate. Did he feel any of those?

... Perhaps ...

Borax headed left, up a different street.

"No, I've not had any such luck but I only just powered up after getting a drink." And he'd come stright from work. "I'm hoping to find myself in posession of some luck however." While he didn't take the starseeds from civilians he had no issue with doing it to knights or senshi. From civilians he took energy and he left them in safe places, warm and safe, because they might one day be a customer of his. Also, how to take energy from people when you've gone and killed them all?

He wasn't about stabbing himself in the foot. He'd much rather stab someone else - it was more efficient.

Following behind the other, a step or two right behind, he trailed frost behind him as he moved. "What have you managed to do so far in this war? I want to know limits if there are any...or things you have not yet done." He questioned, sipping from his hot drink. It was worth asking...though this one didn't sound like much would put him off - how nice.

"Maybe I'll be your lucky charm." He gave a smooth wink to accompany that, happy to intentionally butter up a connection in his new organization. Miyamoto was not in his direct line of command, but that didn't mean he should spurn him. He was letting him lead a hunt for starseeds. To be honest, that was ideal.

Even if the hunt at the moment was a merry conversation about murder while drinking just as merry drinks.

Borax felt the frost before he noticed it, taking a brief look behind himself to see if he could figure out where it was coming from. Was Miyamoto himself producing that? Fascinating. Were they all so elemental? Could they all one day become the kind of infernal that Faustite seemed to be, or did that have limits? He was curious about it, even if body modification itself was not his thing. The magic, though--

"I am fairly new," came as an unfortunate admission. "I've been learning the lay of the land, making connections, studying the database and the Negaverse training manual. Very basic stuff." He swatted at the air. "I've taken some energy, though. A couple starseeds."

As Jadarite said, aim for those who would not be missed.

"Good, at least you are getting your hands dirty early on and I assume it hasn't bothered you." Or no longer bothers him. He didn't want to have him running off, or becoming ill, at the sight of blood or any such things. Because if they ran into a senshi or knight the corrupt would not hold back, he was out for the kill whenever he went against order.

"I'm not much for taking the starseeds from civilians, order is another story, I don't believe in stabbing myself inthe foot. I work in a very public sort of job...I'm not risking killing clients or potential, future, clients as that's money I won't have." Abd his job relied on people coming in for servies as well as tips. He couldn't risk killing someone and finding out they had booked an appointment over the phone, or online, with him and he'd just killed them. Someone could point out that by killing senshi and knights he mightg kill a client...but they were, above all else, the enemy so he'd deal with that.

"Connections can be good." Though he'd not made any himself, not really anyway, he wasn't a social butterfly and making friends was not his thing. "The database is useful. I've read it a few times in order to memorize what I can." He was making it into something to study as he did growing up when attending school. He wanted to remember everything he could about everyone on the other side, he didn't want to be caught unaware of people he might encounter. He knew it wasn't complete and he'd miss things but he'd still rather do his best to limit things.

"Hasn't bothered me at all." While Faustite had gotten to see his sudden acute interest firsthand, he wasn't necessarily about to tell everyone else that he was getting a rush out of getting "his hands dirty." There was something about having lives in his hands and being able to pull people out of living so easily that drove his interest into overdrive. He wanted that power. He deeply desired that power. And he had it, now.

If he had to torment people a little bit to get there? So be it.

They were cattle anyway.

He shrugged. "Suit yourself. I think humans reproduce enough to replenish the civilians." Borax could understand the business sense of not wanting to wait years for them to become clients, though. He didn't necessarily need to worry about that in his line of work. Capitalism meant that people were always going to need banks. Worked for him. "And I find connections very useful. It is often not what you know but who."

Jadarite, for one, had gotten him recruited in the first place. He was not entirely convinced that he would have ever been given the time of day without.

"The database is exceptionally useful. Gives me a head's up on what enemies to be aware of and how to counter them. Will help if we happen to run into any of them on this patrol." Borax stopped and felt around for a moment, checking a bit harder for any auras, before turning in a direction where he may have felt one. Perhaps. He was still attuning that sense. "I will likely contribute to it as I can."

"And the amount of time I'd have to wait...and how many may poentially be clients one day. It's a lot of waiting and it's all an unknown. It's not a field where everyone has a need." Shrugging as he spoke. He wasn't going to stab himself inthe foot, he much prefered the idea of stabbing others, so he'd keep mindful of civilians and killing them.

"It's likelyt you have a far more secure job than I do." Not that he couldn't have gotten a better job, and done something esle in university, his high school grades had been more than high enough. He just did not want to get into buisness like his father, or healthcare like his mother, he wasn't that sort of person. He was a rebel, according to them, as he prefered the arts and expressing himself. He had modified his own body and he was sure that wouldn't see him any favors if he tried for other jobs, once he went back to university to get whatever he'd need to get other jobs.

It was why you never tattooed a person on the hands or the face unless everywhere else was done; as it was a job killer. If they had a job that was cool with it - than fine. But he'd never start off with that, though he'd been asked, and he'd never tattoo there when little else was done. He wasn't going to ruin someone elses chances for a job. He'd ruined his own though, at least he was sure of it.

"Sense something?" He questioned as the other turned and he was trailing right behind him, casual and at ease with everything around them. He had felt something, he wasn't entierly sure just yet, but he wanted to make sure the other wasn't just wandering them about. He did doubt it though.

"What do you do anyway?"
