Wavellite made her way towards the aura of a page with a slight exasperation, and some growing amusement. Order was just…so boring, so stick up the butt…but. She could have fun at least, and then she could feel good about herself and go home with honors. Even if the honors were only in her own mind.
Whatever. Huffing softly, she summoned her sword to her hand and teleported the rest of the distance between herself and the green clad page, striking a pose and looking quite impressive, thank you very much. “It’s a bad day for you, little page. I’m sorry to say that your time is up and today is the day your starseed becomes a betrothal gift for my girlfriend. At least it’ll be something beautiful that you’ll become. What do you say?”
Maybe if he was good about it, she wouldn’t stab him a few times just for fun, maybe if he accepted his fate like a good boy, she wouldn’t stab him at all...he’d still die but…it wouldn’t be as painful.
Maybe.
Then again…she was bored…

Belmont half-turned to face the Negaverse Agent, torn between taking her seriously and thinking it was a joke. He knew he shouldn’t take the Negaverse lightly but her arrival was more than he’d expected from all of this.
“Uh, I guess I’d say…no?”
She was stronger than he was, which was obviously going to be an issue, but Targoviste was going to be here any minute, and he hoped two against one would make it a fair fight–or, fairer, at least. She could teleport and had an impressive weapon. He had…
A broken hilt and a will to live, so that was just going to have to be enough to get him through this. In any case, he wasn’t planning on just laying down and dying.
“You should try a ring or something instead, maybe. I like my starseed where it is, so I’d rather it stay in place.” He’d already had it taken once before, and he figured that was enough trauma for it in this lifetime. He wasn’t sure where Targoviste was, but he knew she was close and he didn’t doubt her.
He didn’t want to fight, but he wasn’t opposed to it. Running didn’t really seem like an option, not when she could teleport and have access to his starseed from any direction.

“But just think of how happy she’d be if I made a ring out of the starseed! Use your head stupid boy, for more than just a place to store your ugly hair.”
Why couldn't they just do what she said. It wouldn't be hard! Wavellite would have so much easier of a time doing things if people just followed her orders. Of course, doing so would cause them to die but it would be so much easier for her. This way she had to fight and…spar and banter and she was bored but…
But she was lazy too and it just didn’t work. “I’m feeling nice today, I’ll give you another shot, be a good boy and listen to me and you won’t have to get stabbed! It sounds good, doesn’t it? Better than getting stabbed, run through…chopped to bits? I mean. I’m going to kill you either way so…just let me make it easy for the both of us, yeah?”

Sadie was running late for her patrol with Belmont, but as it turned out…that might have been a good thing.
When she heard voices, she waited to power up and kept herself hidden, frowning slightly as she saw a Negaverse Captain threatening her friend and promising to kill him…well…no. That wasn’t going to happen.
Drawing in a breath, she swiftly powered herself up and ripped the fabric from her windsock once again, running out and wrapping it around the Captain’s eyes, securing it in the back with the stick from the windsock itself. She made her way to Belmont and drew him a few steps away from the overly confident green haired girl. “You okay? Sorry I’m late, but…not sorry I was able to step in when I did…she didn’t hurt you, did she? She really talks big.”
Targovishte let her voice carry for the last line, hoping that it would work the Captain up and she would get sloppy. It was a good theory, at the very least.

Targoviste’s arrival was more than welcome, and she moved quickly enough that she managed to get the upper hand before the Captain could react to her arrival.
“I’m fine. I was wondering who was going to show up first,” Belmont said, and while the Captain was temporarily disoriented he took the opportunity to take a defensive stance. “I trust the others aren’t long behind you, but you all need to be a little better about showing up on time.”
He spoke loudly enough that he knew the Agent could hear them, but not so loud that it would have seemed like he was trying to be obvious about it.
There wasn’t anyone else, but she didn’t need to know that. He sounded convincing enough, even as he felt his adrenaline begin to spike. The Negaverse had many unfair advantages, and a bluff might have been their best weapon, especially if she still thought she could take two pages.

Wavellite had tensed when she felt the second aura flare up, but it was just that of another Page, nothing to worry about…at least that was what she thought before something was wrapped over her eyes and pinned in the back of her hair with…
“Is that a stick? Did you just…are you serious? You little toads!”
It didn’t matter that they outnumbered her…she was stronger…and…if she could just get rid of them before their extra backup arrived…that would be…well.
That would be ideal. She didn’t want to fight off a whole horde of stupid little Pages. Finally, Wavellite was able to get the…what was this? A rainbow…windsock? She had been blindfolded by a rainbow windsock. “At least you know I’m a lesbian, I suppose you have that going for you.”
She broke the stick into small pieces and let them clatter to the ground before she turned to look at the two. “I’ll just have to kill you before the rest of your help arrives. And when they do, I’ll kill them too. No problem.” With that said, she lunged towards the girl in the pink, the one who no longer had any sort of weapon to help defend herself.

Targovishte stared at Belmont in confusion for a moment, trying to catch up and understand what it was that he was saying. The others? They didn’t know any…oh.
“Yeah well, you know them. They like to get the snacks when we patrol, and they think it’s easier since they’re stronger than us, we babies need the practice without them. But, it looks like that’s paying off, yeah?”
Shooting Belmont a confused grin and a half shrug, she nodded towards the blindfolded Captain who was quickly working to no longer be in that position…and all too soon…well. She wasn’t.
And Targovishte had no weapon for it was now broken to bits at the Captain’s feet. “Guess the bluff dind’t work so well…” She murmured to Belmont, concern in her voice as the wild eyes of the Captain fell on her and then she began to charge, her saber pointed right at her. <******** waited until the last moment and dove out of the way, ducking around the Captain and trying to get to the windsock fabric. Maybe she could do something if she had something to use…

Belmont wasn’t exactly grateful that Targoviste had been the Captain’s target, but it worked out well enough. When she dodged, he shoved his shoulder into the Captain to try and throw her off balance. He didn’t have much to work with in terms of weaponry, so he shoved the wooden hilt into the Agent’s side.
He charged behind her, trying to take advantage of her temporary disorientation to meet up again with Targoviste.
His weapon felt strange in his hand and he nearly dropped it. He didn’t know how or why; he was clutching it tightly in his hand and it still felt off.
It wasn’t until he looked down that he noticed it had changed shape somewhat, but he didn’t have time to analyze it. He felt strange, like a fresh burst of adrenaline had shot through him. It was different than usual; his heart wasn’t pounding but he felt invigorated, like he could take on the world.
He didn’t necessarily understand the change in his weapon, but something in him did. He moved between himself and the two women to give Targoviste a moment to brace herself.

Wavellite gave a grunt as the second page decided to take advantage of her and shoved whatever he had into her side.
…It hurt. And she didn’t appreciate it one bit.
But. But then something changed and Wavellite looked up, staring in confusion at the page who…suddenly wasn’t a page any longer…he had gotten stronger by doing nothing there…was nobody to force the power onto him, nobody to grant him the power this…
This really didn’t bode well, honestly.
Swiftly, she turned to try and get the girl once more…she could handle a Page and a Squire, maybe. She still had a weapon that could do damage...but then there was another surge of power and…
And now she had to deal with two Squires and…
“Are you kidding me?” Wavellite spat, clutching her saber tightly and looking between the two.

Targovishte was lucky to have Belmont for a friend and partner, and it was nice to know that they could work so well together under pressure. Though, at the same time it would be nice not to have such a situation happen again in the future…
Holding the remains of her…well, weapon, she closed her eyes and forced them to vanish, summoning the windsock back into her hands. It wasn’t something she liked to do, it was kind of exhausting but…
But if it gave her something to smack the Captain around with…she’d stand to be a little tired.
Strangely, the stick felt different under her touch, and when Targovishte opened her eyes, she blinked in some confusion.
The windsock was completely different…and so was Belmont’s outfit and…as she looked down, her own was different too…and the Captain no longer seemed quite so intimidating.
Moving to stand beside Belmont, Targovishte gave a half eager grin. “Guess you’ve lost your upper hand, hm?”

Belmont might have been a bit lacking when it came to sensing his own upgrade, but he picked up on Targoviste’s, he jerked his head to look at her, took in her appearance, and then shook his head so he could focus on the Captain.
“Neither of us have any intention of handing over our starseeds, so I guess you can leave now, or…”
He glanced at Targoviste’s weapon, and then at his own.
His eyes settled on the Captain again.
“I mean, I guess we can make you.”
He hadn't wanted to fight before, if only because he wasn't eager to jump into battle, but...
It didn't seem really impossible right now. It was more than just a numbers game, he felt like they could take her on. She might have had the advantage before, but he was pretty sure that had slipped right through her fingers.
He wasn't complaining. She'd started this, they could end it.

Wavellite looked between the two and grew more and more disgruntled, finally just shaking her head and spitting on the ground out of pure frustration. “Just you two wait, you think you’re so cocky because you’ve gotten a little stronger? Just you wait until I’m a General. I promise you here and now I’ll be taking both of those pretty starseeds and they will be betrothal gifts for my girlfriend.”
Taking a step backwards, Wavellite tossed back her green ponytail and turning on her heel, teleported away from the two Squires. Well. They had been the worst…and this hadn’t gone at all how she had planned.

When the Captain fled, Targovishte gave a heavy sigh and seemed to slump, resting against Belmont for a second. “Holy s**t. That. That was far too close for comfort.” Her heart felt as though it were pounding fit to burst, but she managed to give a little laugh that had only a hint of hysteria. “...I want…to talk about all of this with you but um. Do you want to go somewhere else? Maybe back to my place? I have some good booze, could make us something to steady the nerves. If only for me.”
The smile on her face came a little more easier now, but not by much.
Something to drink would be welcome.
