After the cheese fries had been consumed…chili cheese fries in Talia’s case, she had wanted to insist on walking Rhiannon and Malcolm home, but honestly…she was too tired to make the trip. Tired and full, feeling like a bear ready to hibernate.
She had resisted slipping her hand in Evan’s up until this point, but finally, Talia wiggled a little closer and did just that, lacing fingers with him and giving a pleasant little squeeze. “So. That was…definitely something, I’ll say.” She gave him a sideways glance and tried to smile, but it may have come out as somewhat of a grimace. “You weren’t hurt, were you? I know I’ve asked like eight times, but I’m so scared, that like. One of you actually did get stabbed or something and you’ll just. Have a bloody gash or…or whatever…”
Chewing on her lip, Talia squeezed Evan’s hand once again. “...I hope that…you’ll still come back up there with me again sometime…I hope that this didn’t…didn’t scare you away from picnics or anything…I don’t want to lose that with you…and I know that’s me being very selfish right now but…”
Lysithea the place was important to her.

Evan had been thoughtful for most of the night. He’d been happy for Talia, and supportive, but there were thoughts dancing in his head because all of this had been a lot.
“No, I’m not scared of going up there for picnics. It was weird, but that was the first time anything bad’s happened up there. And you took care of it,” he pointed out.
It hadn't felt like there was any more Chaos up there.
He swung their hands slightly as they walked, and briefly glanced up at the stars. He couldn’t see Malus from here, but that wasn’t surprising. He didn't think it was much of anything in the grand scheme of things.
“I’m glad everyone was okay. How are you doing?”

Talia hummed softly and gave Malus a soft smile. “I’m doing fine, a little tired and…kind of really overwhelmed, honestly but…just glad that…you were all with me. I’m not sure what would have happened if I had to face that on my own.” She might have figured it out, but…she might have gotten stabbed by a unicorn horn and that just…that just didn’t sound fun no matter how you looked at it.
“I’m glad that we’re going home. I’m really in the mood for a really hot shower…whatever was in that water made me feel…kind of really nasty. I’m not going to lie, I want to go back up to do some research on it…just so I can find out how to really make sure that it won’t happen again…whatever I…whatever I did seemed to have taken care of it for now, but now doesn’t last forever.”
…As she well knew
Squeezing Evan’s hand, she gave a rather sheepish smile. “...Do you think you could make us some mac and cheese while I shower? I could use some magical comfort food from you, if you’re willing.” She didn't need it. She had just eaten a ton of fries and her stomach was quite full but...maybe it was just the idea of it. Of safety. Of home. "Or we could do it for breakfast tomorrow...lunch? I'm...not actually hungry. I just wanted it."

Evan was tired, and even if there were a lot of thoughts dancing in his head, he couldn’t really turn down a request for mac and cheese. Not the good, comfort kind. Not the kind he’d wished someone would make for him after a long day.
Talia had been through enough, and even if he didn’t understand it all, he was thinking some comfort food was well deserved.
“I was thinking I was going to make some when we got home. I’m not really hungry either, but. It just feels right. I know it’s not traditional celebration food, but. I think it’s worth a treat, since we all made it back in one piece. I’m glad you weren’t on your own. I don’t know what I would have done if we’d lost you. Do you know–”
He hesitated, and chewed on the inside of his cheek for a few seconds.
“Do you know how you managed to do that? I’ve never seen anyone get stronger than an Eternal Senshi. I mean, I know they’re out there, but it’s the first time I saw it.”

Talia hesitated and reached out, taking hold of Evan’s hand and squeezing it tightly. “I’m okay. Nothing happened…I’m also really glad that I wasn’t on my own, I couldn't have done whatever happened without you…and…I have no idea what it even was. I’m assuming it was just something…I don’t know. Lysithea related? Like…I saw the me from before do it…so maybe it was just some ritual that had to be done…I…”
His words confused her a little. Stronger than an Eternal Senshi? That hadn’t been what happened…it had just been something…unique to her homeworld, that was all. Nothing that big, surely.
“I don’t think it was anything like that, I mean…I really think it was just something my homeworld needed from me, and I helped with it, that’s all…I wasn’t stronger than anyone…”
Had she been?
Nah. It was just stressful, that was all.

Evan nodded, but he didn’t seem wholly convinced. Maybe he was just confused. He was tired, at the very least. Probably overwhelmed. Emotionally burnt out.
“I guess,” he said. It felt like too much had happened for him to replay it in his mind and he knew he was going to need some time to digest it all. “Maybe that’s why I haven’t seen it before. I don’t spend a lot of time on other homeworlds. I don’t know, I’ll have to think about it. But you felt it, right? How strong you were? I don’t know how you tap into that. I mean, my homeworld’s never done that. But I guess I’ve never had anything that dangerous on my world. Mostly just traps.”
He sighed, a bit exasperated by that, but he wasn’t sure if he was seeing more than there was there.
“I guess we’ll see soon, right? You’ll have to see if you can do that here on Earth while there isn’t any danger.”

“I mean…I don’t really know. I sure didn’t feel strong when it was all over. I felt really tired so…I don’t know.” IT was a lot to think about, and she wasn’t sure that she had the strength right now to do so…
“Of course we’ll see soon. If I can do it again I will, or…maybe just back on my Homeworld, honestly I really do think that it’s a Homeworld thing, I could be wrong, but. It felt right at the moment, you know? Like it was instinct or something…like. I knew how to do whatever it was I was doing…I don’t know…but I would…honestly like to see if it can be done again…without the danger, absolutely without the danger.”
Hopefully though…the danger up on Lysithea had been taken care of…and hopefully there wouldn't be any more danger up there to deal with.
That would be the ideal situation, honestly.

“Well, you felt strong when you were standing next to me.” But, maybe it was too much to figure out tonight. They’d already spent a lot of energy, and he was a bit sore and was thinking that laying down for a bit sounded like a good idea.
And…if she did have more energy in her, he didn’t want to risk drawing someone’s attention by trying to pull it out again now. No, tomorrow, or later, when they were better rested.
They’d be home soon, they could unwind and figure this out when they were refreshed.
“We can try it on my homeworld, if you want. Since we know it’s safe up there. But there’s no rush,” he assured. “I think we deserve a break, first.”

“Oh, I know we deserve a break first. All I want to do tonight is shower…because I know I stink, and eat some mac and cheese that I know I will regret when I’m trying to sleep because I’ll have eaten too much…but other than that, tomorrow. We can think about whatever happened...tomorrow…or later even, I don’t care.”
She wrapped an arm around Evan’s shoulders now, giving him a half hug. “Right now, let’s just go home. That sounds like the best thing ever.”
