Near the river, there is a hole in the ground that leads to spacious rooms and glorious caverns. There are a few pieces of human furniture, here and there, but for the most part it looks like it was designed for a much bigger creature. A creature like a Comet Serpent. This is Darien's home, and visitors are always welcome.
exclaim Anyone is welcome, but please don't trash the place. Darien is usually very tolerant, but if you get him mad enough... exclaim Roleplaying is encouraged. Darien will be out and about here, so you can usually talk to him. exclaim Humans are allowed, as well. Which is why Darien has the furniture in the first place. exclaim Don't flame anybody here. Darien doesn't care if you have a problem with them, elsewhere. This is his house, and is effectively a sanctuary for all visitors. exclaim I prefer past-tense, third person view roleplaying. Please, no symbols to indicate actions, and at least decent english.Little Notice-thingy: If any Serpents, or any other type of Dust, want to move in to Darien's caves, just come by and roleplay their intent! ^.^

The chambers of Darien's caverns:
Darien's underground home is a veritable maze, what with all the interconnected chambers, so this is a list of his rooms as of now. He can always add rooms, as there are natural caves about.
~The Entrance - Near the river, but set in a little hill, the entryway to the caves is somewhat hidden by brush. It is set in such a way that if it rains, or floods, the water does not go in to the steeply slanting tunnel. If it does, in the first room there's a shallow "ditch" at the base of the tunnel which branches to the left and right to divert waterflow to two other tunnels. These tunnels lead to the natural caves (out of sight, out of mind), and there are several other tunnels that lead to the various chambers of Darien's home. ~The common room - This is where most of the human furniture is, and is one of the largest caverns. There are several luminous fungi growing on the walls and ceiling, so there is a comfortable and acceptable light level for everyone. Several piles of water grasses offer comfortable nests to lie on, and there are also a couple mounds of packed dirt with hollowed indentations on the top for serpents to curl in. ~The caves - Around his self-made home, there are random natural caves and tunnels that lead, well, elsewhere. Darien has not bothered to furnish these caves, as he doesn't consider them part of his home. Some of them may be lit with the luminous fungi. Strange animal sounds echo quietly from these shadows. ~The Library - Because Azul is usually very contemplative, meditative, and quiet, there is a library. It is a rock bubble small enough to make the lack of books less noticeable, but large enough for six or more full-grown Serpents to splay on the ground without touching. A bubble of rock, left over from volcanic days, was chosen because Azul thought that it wouldn't have as much dust or dirt falling on the precious books. It is simple, with a couple shelves, and various 'seats' for Stardusts of materials such as grass, reeds, and cleaned sand. Most of the books are historical, some fictional, very few have to do with fantasy. ~The Larder - There's a cool, basement-like cavern with an icy spring running through it that Darien uses as his larder. Draconis often keeps the shelves stocked with cloth-wrapped cheese, fruit, and dry meats, and in iceboxes uncooked meats, vegetables, fish, and crackers. Aure really likes crackers. ~Darien's room - This room is off-limits. It's Darien's sleeping chamber, so he'd rather people not just randomly walk in. ~Aure's room - Aure usually spends most of his time in here when he's not outside, gallivanting about and causing a ruckus. His friends are allowed in here. Others, no. Unless they're pretty females. ~Azul's room - This room is still pretty bare of furniture, though Azul likes it that way. It's calming to not be cluttered. Anyone is allowed in, as long as they're quiet, don't make a mess or are interested in some philosophic discussion.

Darien's Family: Baby . AdultAure ~ This trickster of a Serpent causes much grief to Darien. Though they could be father and son, Aure was abandoned and the kind Comet took him in under his wing, err, claw, err, umm, limb. Darien, being the gentlemanly Serpent he is, is more like an older brother to the reckless, gold-veined child. Even as an adult, Aure is still the mischievous Serpent he was when growing up. It's like he's still a teenager. His relationship with his adoptive father Darien is somewhere father-son/uncle-nephew. Darien is undoubtedly the elder, so whenever he's not looking Aure can be found up to his stunts (like chasing some pretty girl, breaking something, et cetera...).

Roomies! Azul ~This pretty Dustling is new to the Caverns. She's gentle and soft, as well as shyly friendly, but can be very icy and cool at times. Azul just seems so light that she moves gracefully slowly, most of the time at rest, sometimes doing a peaceful activity such as sculpting, reading, or thinking. Aure is the bane to her way of life.

Darien was just helping Draconis carry in a couple things for the larder when he picked up a strange smell. He stopped, looked up, and waited for his human to notice before heading off into the rest of his house to find the newcomer. The Serpent was a little disappointed that he hadn't been here to greet a guest like any polite host should.
He peeked into Aure's room, for sometimes the young golden Serpent would hang out with unknown friends there. It was empty; he was still out, though it was raining and cold. He was probably visiting.
Darien sniffed, and looked about. The smell was coming from an empty room; he had been making a new one for himself, as a little self-indulgence. A little irritated, but never showing it, he entered his room and saw a Dustling dragon.
His first impression of her was thin ice. He didn't know why. She was very blue, yes, but her fur was just so downy-looking and soft. Darien found himself staring at her before gathering himself up and bowing like the gentlemanly Serpent he is.
"Greetings, madame. All visitors are welcome in my stead-"
"But... I'm not visiting. Are you Darien?"
The serpent blinked, just a little slightly highly confused. "Er, yes, madame..."
"Azul. Draconis told me much about you."
Azul was the perfect name for her, he thought. "Ah, Azul. What do you mean by, you're not visiting?"
It was the Dust's turn to blink. "I live here. Did Draconis not tell you?"
"No, she didn't." Darien was about to mention that this was actually his new room, but decided not to. It would be impolite. So instead, he said, "Ah, well, you can sleep here, if you'd like. I just have to finish some chores."
"I understand."
Darien left, a little blushed. Draconis would invite someone he never met to live in his house? His? It was no surprise that when he entered the larder, glaring, that the human was a little taken aback. But it was a surprise to him that she was expecting it.
"Darien, I can see that you're upset."
Darien growled something, and she replied, "Azul's staying, and that's final. I don't want to hear any more about it." With that, she walked out of the caves, and Darien was left looking at a recently stocked larder.
Sighing, he went back to Azul's new room to entertain, and offer something from the larder.

Darien sighed and leaned against the wall once he was out of sight of his new roommate. Why hadn't Draconis told him she was bringing someone new to his home? Really, what right did that human have to tell him what to do or make him give up his room to someone he never met before? Especially when he suddenly had to dig a library to meet the dragon's meditative needs.
No, he stopped thinking these negative things, for nothing good would come of it. All that would happen would be for him to grow bitter, and he liked to think himself a good host and a good Serpent. And so, he sighed again, rubbed the dirt off of his winglimbs and looked around.
He hadn't seen Aure for a while. The golden Serpent's room was virtually untouched for the past few days, though it was nothing new. It just meant that he was growing up and moving out, was all. Perhaps he was meeting new people, doing new things, not being the dumbass he was growing up... Darien dared to hope.
The dark turquoise Serpent got up again, and continued on his way to the larder. Azul had requested bread and water. Darien, his mind returning to negative things about the last week, wondered why she couldn't get it herself; after all, she wasn't a guest anymore, and he no more her host. Shrugging it off, he retrieved a half-loaf of bread and a serpent-sized bowl that he filled with water from the underground stream.
Carefully carrying these things back to the library, he came in and set the food and drink upon the floor, near Azul but far enough away that she'd have to get up to reach it. The blue dustling opened her eyes, disturbed from her calm thinking by Darien's intrusion, and saw the way he set them down; her eyes flashed, her brows knitted, and for a fraction of a second the much larger Serpent was afraid. This was not the Azul he knew.
But a moment later she was calm again, and she smiled politely up at him. "Thank you, Darien," she said, before standing up from her nest of grass and bringing the bread and water to herself. "If it's no problem to you, I'd like to be alone."
Darien nodded, and went back to his own room, wondering. Eventually, he decided that he had imagined it, and fell asleep in his serpent-shaped hollow.
