Versailles sneered to himself as he kept himself hidden behind a few trees waiting for passerbys in the park. Recently he had been caught and reprimanded about his lack of energy draining and not going out as much by one of the Generals. He had only barely escaped physical punishment but was now having to go out and make up for three months quota. It irked him. Being under the command of someone else. The Negaverse had promised him power and while he had it, there were many restrictions as well. Rules that seemed to be enforced depending on which agent one was talking to. An inconsistency that the Negaverse claimed that they did not have compared to Order. He snorted. As if something that got it's power from "chaos" would be more orderly. The ridiculousness of everything had almost made him laugh at the General who had reprimanded him. Only the threat of a more severe punishment had managed to stop him. So he was out here doing grunt work and draining from people who happened to be passing by. He only had 3 weeks worth at this point and many who had gone by him had suddenly wanted to go home and take a nap. At least he was making good progress. That is until he felt the presence of another Chaos Agent nearby. He practically growled to himself. Did they really send someone to keep an eye on him? Or were they taking his targets? Either way he needed to investigate and headed over to where he had felt the source coming from and could see that it was clearly another Agent, a Captain. He crossed his arms and leaned against a nearby tree. "Out here just to drain or is it something else?" He said, looking the other up and down and mentally congratulating the other on looking so good in the patterned leather that they had on their uniform.

Captain Crocoite felt the approaching aura, but was in no rush to be anywhere and had no real reason to dodge it. Beyond not liking people and having trouble connecting with others. He could fake it well enough, and he needed to get better at it if he ever wanted to gain the connections he needed to grow truly powerful.
As much as he would like to be a one man army, he understood the need for connections that filled the gaps in his own abilities.
The Captain tilted his head toward the person approaching, wondering vaguely if it was someone he had met before. He sighed, nodding his head slowly.
"I suppose the quota is immutable, though I prefer to spend my time in other pursuits. It serves to make the day a bit more tedious, but I try to get my energy gathering done early so I can tend to... other matters... at my leisure. You're in the same boat, I see." He offered a small nod of his head, which was actually a more genial and patient gesture than he made to most. Except when he was on his best behavior because he wanted something.
For now, things could go either way.
At the very least, he did not have a General breathing down his neck at the moment. Mostly because he had severed his ties to his own General, and was actively working to destroy her and her newest Lieutenant from the inside out.

Versailles felt himself calming down a little. At least this Captain hadn't been sent to keep an eye on him it seemed. He relaxed, but only a little. Even if they were a fellow Agent, he knew that there was plenty of backstabbing that happened within the organization. One more reason to get out of all of it. Versailles nodded. "Yes... I find having to collect energy quite boring, but we do have our quotas to fill." He replied with a shrug. Of course he had a larger one than usual at the time, but he wasn't going to admit that he had been going against orders. "I'm Versailles. I don't believe we've met Captain...?" He waited to see if the other would introduce himself.

"Ah, forgive my manners," Crocoite said blandly, almost meaning it. He offered the other his hand, the other holding his cane as he leaned on it leisurely. He did not need it to walk, of course, but it complimented the outfit and was his weapon.
He rarely pulled the sword that hid inside it, though.
"Captain Crocoite, at your service," he said, now with a grin. In a way, he was always available to help anyone that came to him, though there was always a hefty price to pay. Usually he made deals with his victims, as ones with his compatriots were always far more complicated and he always stood to lose more. Still, it was always an interesting way to build a relationship.
"Well, since we're both here with the same goals in mind, it might go twice as quickly if we team up." He could see what the other was capable of, as well, which was information he always liked to have.

Versailles could tell that the Captain wasn't so friendly. Most Agents were like that however. It was more uncommon to have an extremely friendly Agent that didn't have any ulterior motives than someone who only pretended to get along. And he was one of those pretenders. He smirked a little and shook the other's hand before letting go. "Crocoite. You uniform certainly suits your name." He said, taking another look at it. He understood the other's offer though wasn't quite sure what the exact motives were behind it. Information of course and Versailles had been about to offer the same thing. Unless one put it in there, there was very little information about Agents in the database, so when meeting another one it would be best to see what they were capable of. If this would be used for an Agent's advantage later, that was up to them. He nodded to the other. "That's a good idea. There are quite a few people out and about the park today. I'm sure if we teamed up then we could easily take care of all of them." It was even better that they wouldn't have to physically touch their victims, if they didn't want to at least. He always found it more difficult to do so, usually it meant having to knock someone out at the very least so that they couldn't alert anyone to what was going on. He turned in the direction that he had found most of the civilians in and looked at the Captain. "Let's see what we can do." He said before starting off and looking around to see if there were any civilians around. Of course, he kept an eye on his back as well. If there was one thing he knew, it was never to trust another Agent completely.

Crocoite nodded his head, actually relieved to not have to do his energy hunting alone. While sometimes it proved very interesting, especially when he had a senshi or knight to hunt from, it was getting to be a bit of a grind.
People reacted the same way, more often than not, when under duress. While sometimes the situations were in his favor and he could make a great deal from it, most of the time it was too simple. And he did not want to make himself too bored with the daily grind and lose his motivation for his higher goals.
The more he could shake it up, the better, he supposed.
"I've always thought so," he said with a chuckle, looking at his cane. It was topped with a crocodile head, heavy enough to do some damage when he swung it but mostly just very appropriate for his outfit. He was not quite sure how much more crocodilian he could get, though he was hoping his next stage would not be too ridiculous. He had some pride in his appearance, after all.
He let the other lead the way, noting that it did look more populated than most of his other trips to this particular area. That was good, and bad, really. No elaborate set ups or torturous traps, at least not without a lot of planning. Doable, but unlikely. So the straightforward approach seemed more fitting.
"Do you prefer a subtle plan, or are you one of those 'the more chaos, the better' types?" He could easily someone he used to know just teleporting into the middle of the group and stabbing someone or pulling a starseed.

Versailles shrugged. "Subtle might be better if we use my magic, but we could only use it twice before I run out. One of the problems with being a Senshi." He said with a slightly dramatized sigh. He often found himself annoyed with the two use limit, but he supposed that it was a way to balance everything out. He still would have preferred something that he could use the entire time like a weapon. "It's a distraction magic that I can use within 10 feet. While they are distracted we could then do what we wanted with them, perhaps even with others who wanted to see if something was wrong. But... we could also go in and stir things up and see what comes from that. Whatever you prefer. I'm game for either of them. Though the former would attract less attention, which means less likely for any Order to come around and try to stop us."

Crocoite looked curious at that, nodding his head and grinning a bit.
"I have to admit, magic is always fascinating to me. I suppose because I only get to bash and stab. I would be very curious to see this magic of yours in action, if you don't mind showing it to me. Of course, I will provide support if any unwelcomed element shows up."
The white moon had a very bad habit of crashing parties. And he very much wanted to see what this magic could do. If it was something particularly useful, he may want to form a working relationship with this stranger. Especially if it meant furthering his goal of not only becoming more powerful within the Negaverse, but of taking down the wretch he used to call his General.
At the moment, he could not come close to her power, but he would create an inescapable web for her.
"It sounds useful. I think the more subtle approach suits me best, as well, so we will use your distraction to draw some prey away from the rest of the crowd."

Versailles smirked again. "All right." He looked through the crowd for a moment before spotting someone mostly in the middle of it with some onlookers. Seemed they may have been some type of performer. All the better. He focused on them, murmured "Share the Splendor" to himself and snapped his fingers at the same time. Suddenly a light showed on the performer and they seemed to be distracted by... something. Whatever it was that they were thinking of, along with several in the crowd. He looked back at his current "companion". "25 seconds. That's as long as that light lasts and they are distracted. Now would be the time to drain them." He said, stepping closer to the crowd, which had gotten a bit bigger this time and drained some of the ones closest to him. Quote: Share the Splendor With this attack, Versailles snaps his finger and let's off a brilliant light shines down on his opponent. A target within a 10 foot radius is suddenly put in fine jewels, gems, and/or other things that would make the target feel splendor and would distract them. Lasts 25 seconds. Can be used twice in battle.

Crocoite looked on in wonder, eyes lighting up a bit, as much as they were capable of anyway, as he witnessed the magic. There really was something exciting about it, and he supposed it did stem from a place of jealousy. Magic was such a powerful ally, moreso than just heightened strength.
He had to admit, he was impressed.
"I have a lot of questions, once we're done here, if you don't mind!" Crocoite said, actually sounding excited and a bit more energetic than before. He wanted to know a few more details of the magic, like just how distracted they were, though the other had already given him a good description of it. He moved to join the draining, making short work of gathering a good number of smaller orbs.
He was clearly distracted in his own right, though he was doing his job admirably. The magic was not impacting him, but rather his mind was running with all the ways such a power could be utilized. How had he not thought of this before? Perhaps introducing himself to more magically-enabled Chaos would be beneficial to him.

For a moment Versailles wondered if he should really tell the details of his magic to the Captain. Once he was finally out of the Negaverse they would be enemies. He supposed it would be fine. If his magic were the same as an Order Senshi, then the Captain would eventually learn it anyway if they were to ever meet and battle. And if it wasn't then it wouldn't matter in the future. At least in his case. Going up against other Order Senshi or Knights may be a different story. Or even giving the other ideas. He would have to be careful, but nodded his head to the other anyway. "If you wish to know then I can tell you." He said shrugging nonchalantly. Perhaps he could get information from the Captain as well. He received a few more orbs, now completing another one to two weeks worth of energy quotas, he would have to count later to make sure. At least he was ahead now. It just meant that he would have to stay under the radar more than he had been. He could tell that his magic was starting to wear off and it appeared that the crowd has been drained quite well. Not enough to knock anyone out at the moment, but enough to make them swing on their feet. He looked at the Captain again. "Well, I would say that's enough, but let me know if you want me to use my magic again."

Crocoite looked very pleased, finding the evening to be more to his liking than normal. A bit of good information, a fun display of magic, and the possibility of doors opening up in the future. To him, it was all positive. And he was not being as despicable as normal, which was a plus for everyone else.
Except the people they were draining energy from, as his mood did not change their fate either way.
At least he wasn't pulling starseeds.
"No, no, that's just fine. I wouldn't want to put too much of a strain on you. And we've gotten enough to keep the overlords off our backs for a bit." At least, he did. He had no idea the other was under a much stricter order to gather more. If he did, he might have even shared his take, though it would be a very rare day indeed that he gave anything without a payback or return in his investment.
He was just feeling hypothetically charitable.
"Let's return to our shadowy perches. I'll let you go shortly, I promise. I'm sure it's annoying, being questioned about your magic. I just find it to be quite the gift."

It seemed that the Captain was content with the amount of energy they had gathered and so Versailles stopped draining from the crowd and started to back off and follow the other's lead on going back to their "hiding spot". Or at least hidden enough that they couldn't easily be seen in the darkness. He decided not to teleport, just to save a bit more energy and waited for the other to ask his questions, wondering which ones he may have wanted to ask in return. And would it be worth it. He didn't know much about purification, but he had heard rumors of memory loss. If he lost his, then there would be no point in gathering any of it now. But it wasn't something he was concerned with at this time. He would take it one step at a time, and he had plenty considering he wasn't even sure how he would purify anyway. "Ask away." He said when they were both back to where they had met.

Crocoite was very curious, but his questions were very run of the mill. He asked about the timing, about how one went about learning the limits of their magic. He asked about the distraction and what could interrupt it. Really, they were questions less about this specific power, and more to help him understand the process at large.
He was very curious. If it was worth it, he could even find a senshi with a useful power and see if he could have them corrupted, just so he could have his own personal tool. It was something to ponder, as he was very unsure about how any of that worked.
But it gave him something new to look into, which he was more excited about than he thought possible.
"Thank you for your time," Crocoite said at last, bowing his head in much the same way his brother might, "I truly appreciate the information, and the experience. You have given me quite a lot of food for thought. But I've kept you captive long enough. Good night."
He teleported away, leaving behind all the energy he had gathered in a neat little pile of orbs on a bench nearby.

Versailles didn't reveal anything special. And the Captain mostly asked basic questions and so there were only a few things that could be gathered about Agents as well. How their weapons worked, how long they could use them, what happened if they broke, etc. It was something to keep in mind for when he encountered a... less than friendly Agent. And the other was nice enough to give him the energy that he had gathered as well, giving Versailles another two weeks worth. He couldn't help but lift an eyebrow at the exchange. Perhaps there were some Agents that were worth getting on good terms with. He gathered up the energy and pocketed it, teleporting to the castle to drop off the energy he had gathered. Perhaps the next time he was out would be another night like this, one where he wasn't interrupted by a Knight or Senshi. Lithiasaur End post from me! Thank you for the rp!
