Regularly Scheduled Programming (3) : With Halloween just around the corner, television stations are constantly playing various spooky themed movies and episodes of your favorite shows. When you sit down to watch something in particular, the screen goes static. You try to change the channel but every one of them is static. If you continue to watch (or attempt to fix the television), an eerie voice comes across the speakers begging for help and that they're coming. No matter what you do or say, they only repeat the same phrases. When you turn off the television and turn it back on again, everything has turned to its regularly scheduled programming..

Today was one of the rainiest days that the weather said they would see in a while. They told everyone that due to the chances of flooding it was best to stay indoors if possible and try not to go outside. After hearing this on the radio since Demetrius had been so exhausted lately anyways. He deemed today a relaxing day which was a day he had not had in who knows how long. So he decided he was just going to chill in his dorm, and not move. His room was decorated with a huge bookshelf filled with all the law books you could imagine and his walls had his heroes from superheroes to super lawyers. He wanted to be surrounded by the things that meant the most to him. It brought him comfort but none of those really caught his interest today. Since today he had no classes, no homework, nothing it almost felt like a dream as he lay there in his bed. He tried to just relax for a minute or two or even stare at the ceiling just for some peace and quiet but all it did was drive him a little crazy. There was too much white around him and he needed something to focus his mind, even if it was something he normally didn't do. He was trying to think of things that caught his interest but today nothing was coming to his mind. It was a little frustrating.

So he sat up in his comfy bed and looked around his room. That was when he noticed the black television remote on his bedside table, he carefully thought about it and contemplated if it was the right decision. He hadn't watched television in so long since he was afraid it would dampen his mind and his ruin his focus on his studies. Though he could remember a time when he really did enjoy watching it. He would watch all the law shows he could and he remembered taking notes on each trial or case that played. It was as if he wanted to learn justice right with the television. At one point he remembered how fun that was and just the thought of it made him smile a little. That was actually how his dream came to life and brought him to all the schooling he was doing now. It made him want to help bring justice to other people in the world.

Well, he figured since he had nothing else to do why not take a trip to the past? So with that thought in his head, he hit the button on the remote and turned to his favorite law show that he used to watch in high school. He couldn't wait to see that television show again and watch it like he was a kid again. Except for this time when he turned to the channel it was there one second and had him overjoyed. Then all he saw was static, nothing but static was all over the television screen. He was so super upset that the show just disappeared into static that he quickly hit his remote against his hand to see if maybe that was the cause. When nothing changed he tried to change the channel it all was static. "oh come on not today," he said as he quickly got out of bed. He couldn't believe that the one day he decided to do something relatively different in this lifestyle this is what happened. It seemed fitting since he was taking his mind off school, but in reality, he was still focusing on justice in a way and he shouldn't be punished for that.

He headed straight towards the television with one mission in mind and that was to get his show back on. He checked all the cords, the box, the wifi, and anything he could think of but it was all fine and in the right spots. Honestly, there was nothing in the wrong place and he couldn't find anything wrong with the television which was weird. How can something just break like that and yet nothing be out of place, it was weird.

Just as he turned to walk back and sit back on his bed for some ideas, he heard what sounded like an eerie voice coming from the television. "Help me...Help me..." it whispered loudly through the static with a voice that sounded like it was undead or something. He looked and saw no one there. Nothing but the voice that continued to echo like it had entered his head now. He quickly shook his head and tried to find the voice around him. When he still saw nothing that connected that voice to anything around him. He just responded back to them, "Sorry can't help you, I don't know where you are." The voice just continued to repeat so he did the logical thing and just turned off the television and set the remote back down on the nightstand. Luckily as soon as he turned off the television the voice stopped and didn't continue any further.

His mind felt like it had been cleansed of that crazy undead voice he was hearing. As soon as he set the remote down he quickly got dressed into some rain-resistant clothing, maybe today wasn't the day to be even a little lazy after all. Maybe the universe had something else in mind for him to do today, and who knew maybe when he got home he could try and watch his favorite show right before bed. So he quickly grabbed his umbrella and headed for the front door. He didn't know where he wanted to be at this moment in time but not here. That was it for his relaxing day and with the creepy eerie feeling not in his head but the feeling all around him. He felt after that voice anywhere was better than here. Anywhere that was not near where that voice spoke, so he walked out his door quickly, and went looking for something else to do on this day.
