Quote: The Noises (9) : There’s a noise somewhere around you and you don’t know where it’s coming from, or what it is. Maybe it’s the sound of something otherwise normal–glasses clinking, someone walking, a clock chiming–except, it doesn’t belong there. It’s a common noise, it just has no source. Or, maybe it’s something scarier–a whisper, a scratch, and wail. The noises come and go without any apparent source. It’s constant. For minutes, or hours, or days. And then, it stops, with no explanation, and that’s almost as scary as when it started.] He really shouldn't have drank so much before bed, a habit of his, and he knew it even as he crawled out of bed are carefully as he could. He didn't want to wake Mason if he could help it, why should he wake the other up when he didn't need to be up?
Are carefully as he could, on tip toes even, the ashen blond made his way into the bathroom. Wincing as he turned on the light, blinding himself for a moment, he was squinting as he went to the bathroom, rubbing at his eyes with one hand. His hand dropped to his side, his head turning, as he heard a noise from downstairs. It was an unusual sound for this time at night...it sounded like the really good china clinking and moving about. He only used that when he had people over who drank tea and he decided to be particularly polite to them.
Now he was curious, because no one else should be up and making such noises, he hurried to wash his hands and went back into the shared bedroom. Making his way for the doorway, so he could head downstairs and investigate. Something was going on and he needed to know what it was, because unless his cousin was up and getting himself a drink, the sounds should not be a thing right now.

Mason grunted softly as Alex climbed out of the bed, dragging the pillow closer and burying his face to try and keep from waking up more then he already was. It wasn't Alex's fault. He'd always been a bit of a light sleeper.
After a few a minutes, Mason sighed heavily, giving up the fight. Climbing out of the bed, he wandered over to were Alex was standing, draping an arm over Alex's shoulder. "Don't go down the stairs in the dark.." He muttered, rubbing at his face. "What's the matter?"

"I really didn't want to blind myself with the hallway light though..." But he really should propably turn on the hallway light anyway, it would be safer. Sighing he leaned into the other and yawned, he couldn't help it. "I heard the china downstairs...the china I almost never use." He didn't have people over often who liked tea, and that sort of thing. He kept them for when his mother came over or a few other family members, rare as those visits were. He was pretty sure everyone in his family had a tea set in the house that was rarely used, kept for those few family members who expected such things.
As if willed by his words the sounds came again, the clinking of china, and what sounded like a spoon against china. It all sounded like someone was down there having tea. But he knew Hudson would not be having tea this late at night and not with the good china. It wasn't something his cousin would do.
"I don't like that..." Were he not the sort to shave most of the hair off his body, he really did prefer having smoother skin, he knew all the hair on him would be standing on end. He could feel his skin breaking out into gooseflesh already.
"No one should be down there."

"And... falling down a flight of stairs was the better option?" Mason mumbled, rubbing small circles into Alex's back when he was hugged. He eyed the pitch black darkness. "Hudson's not here, is he?" Could the other be messing with Alex's stuff?
The taller blonde froze at the sound. "...There's nothing in all that tea you drunk last night was there?" Were they just hearing things? Was it just that the two were just tired? A quick glance back towards the bed confirmed that both dogs and Katya were curled up on the bed, tangled amongst themselves and the blankets around them.
Tugging Alex backwards lightly, Mason carefully descended the stairs.

"He's likely sleeping, like we were. And he's not the sort to sue the tea set, only a few family members expect a tea set for drinks." His grandmother, mother, and a few others who were rather proper and prim...sort of like himself, only he didn't like tea. "No, I drank a tea I mixed with plants from the green house - to help with the headache I was getting." Too many hours reading over books studying for classes. He didn't drink tea, not unless it was some herbal tea he made because of a medicinal need.
Pouting as he was moved behind Mason, though he also was rather pleased abotu it, Alexandre kept behind the other as they headed downstairs.
As they descended the stairs it changed form the sound of the good china to whispers, female perhaps, and the tea set and some other sound that was hard to figure out. Maybe it was something brushing against something else...it was just another sound which didn't belong. He really didn't like this, not one bit, the only good thing was the headache from earlier was gone.

"And it's definitely not your mother..." Had it been, Mason would have been long gone out of the house. It was nothing against her. Alex's mother had been nothing but kind to him, but he would just prefer to not be around if the parents were. Mason kept a hand out, blocking Alex from ducking around him and dashing out once they were at the bottom of the stairs. His other hand, found the light switch and flicked it on, momentarily blinding them both. "...Ow..." He muttered with a scowl.
There was nothing there.
But they'd heard it... Whatever it was.
He blinked for a moment, before trudging into the living room. ...The tv was off... So where was the noise coming from.

"Not this late at night." Since they'd been tucked in bed and fast asleep. There was no way his mother would be awake much less in his home. His mother would visit during the day and ask to be invited in, he wasn't like some crazy parents who would let themselves in uninvited. Blinking, hiding his eyes against the others back, he found himself smiling for a moment. A powerful general he might be...but he liked the idea of someone protecting him.
"Mmmm." Peeping around the other Alexandre was shocked to see...nothing. Absolutely nothing. Looking at the tv he really was baffled, especially when the whispers came again.
"This makes no sense." Unless it was a new Halloween twist that the people of Destiny City were being thrown. "New trick for the season you think?" He asked, pressing his cheek to the others side and staring up at Mason.

"I don't know." Mason muttered. "Maybe." Though, it was getting to be the end of the year, and Destiny City did have a knack for ******** around with everyone's lives during the holidays... Maybe something was up again... "This isn't a Negaverse thing is it?" He asked quietly, on the off chance that someone was around and listening. Though, he felt like he would have heard about an idea like this, if it was. "Whatever it is. I don't like it and I'm already over it." He grumbled, though all threat was lost as he yawned.
"I'm so over this city and it's bullshit. Remind me why we don't move again?" Came the quip. Mason knew full well why they didn't move, but that didn't stop him from asking.
Whatever. He wasn't awake enough for this bullshit. "Let's just... go back up and try to ignore it." They'd lock the door. With any luck, the sound of two dogs barking if they tried to enter would be enough to deter whatever was making the sound... If not, well, there was always plan b.

"I can't say for certain but I've heard nothing of any such plans..." Though he'd been caught in plans before, things he'd never heard of. The biggest one he could think of being that hospital. That whoel thing still creeped him out honestly. He also somehow had the feeling those poinsettias that one year had also been a Negaverse plot, though he couldn't prove it. He still wished he'd had one of those plants.
Shaking his head against the others side he smiled up at Mason. "As much as I'd like to I won't. You know that." But he wouldn't mind a vacation one of these days, though to where he didn't know honestly. There were so many options, the world was rather large after all.
"Yeah, bed sounds good. I'm tired and I have a feeling it's the normal holiday nonsense." Like so many other things. He couldn't let it keep him up and bother him. So long as it wasn't spiders he'd survive.
