Prompt 10: The Call
An unknown number calls you. Maybe you pick it up, maybe you don’t, but the message is the same–someone on the other line is warning you about something. They seem to have details that give credence to whatever they’re warning you about, but there’s something particularly unbelievable about it all–because, they sound like you. And they know things only you would know. And then, the line drops, and you’re left alone. If you try to call the number back, it’s been disconnected. If it was a prank, it was a good one. But, maybe there was something more to it.

Koeia was lounging around the house bored out of her ancient mind. She had a wanderer's spirit so staying in one place was just driving her mad especially after spending so long trapped on her own world. So she had just decided to leave when she heard the sound of what she had come to learn was a phone ringing. She grabbed the phone in question that was making the cacophony of noise and hit the answer button. She didn't know who to expect on the other line since it wasn't like she had many acquaintances on this planet but what she heard truly shocked her.

Out of the human phone came her own voice. "Be ware!" The voice began. "Daughter of Imbar take heed of my warning." The voice which mimicked her own intonation spoke the name of her father, a name no living soul aside from herself should know. "Who speaks, what sorcery is this?" She demanded on the phone but the voice paid her no head. "The Nightmare Child stirs in the deep, the darkness gather again upon the World of Miracles. Be ware the shadow's curse, Elentári you must not let them silence the music again." Before she could ask the voice any questions the line went dead.

That was impossible the voice which sounded much like her own spoke of things no being should know but her. It spoke of things she thought long dead and buried. It spoke of the ancient enemy that had taken her people had poisoner their minds and turned their once warm hurts to violence. The Nightmare Child it had called itself, the general of the army of the shadows. It was as she now understood, a being of Chaos an invader who had plunged her once beautiful world into a bloody conflagration that would end in her beloved world burning and all life but herself and a few remnants of the Chaos perishing. She was certain the Nightmare Child had itself perished in those days when the skies of Koeia burned.

She looked down at the dark phone, could this all be a prank? But even if someone decided to find their merriment at her expense and used some magical trickery to mimic her voice how would it know these things. This information should only belong to her. The left the possibility that this was real so sort of warning from her future self. "A blessing from the Guardian of Time perhaps?" so wondered but guessing would do no good for her at this point no she needed to do some investigating on her own. She needed to go to Koeia. She was thankful the Mauvian phone she had been given had a feature that made returning to her homeworld much easier. She quickly made a note explained where she gone and she raced out of the house. Once she was far enough from the home she shed her human glamour and held her Henshin pen high. "Koeia Power, Make-Up!" She called as her powers enveloped in ribbons of water that reflected the light of the stars. Soon the ancient senshi stood their with her phone as she hit the button to take her home. She needed answers now.
