Prompt 7: The Gargoyles By all accounts, you should have seen the last of them. The Star Festival had its fair share of oddities, but it seems like some of them did escape into Destiny City. Maybe you see them perched on the roof, or hiding in the shadows, but not all of these grotesque creatures are satisfied with just escaping their interdimensional prison–some of them still have a bone to pick. They seem stony; some of them will watch with a penetrative gaze and never strike to attack, but some of them will dive down to target anyone who gets too close. The monsters come in an array of sizes and shapes, but they are no more than half the size of their target. Their goal is uncertain, but they will crumble into a pile of rocks and dust if struck hard enough. Powered characters can use one roleplay with an attacking stone beast to count as a battle requirement if they are roleplaying with another powered character. Koeia was exploring the city when out of the corner of her eyes she spotted something she knew was out of place. Hiding in the shadow of a rooftop was a familiar creature. The grotesque Gargoyles she had encounters in the space between universes a few months ago. She was not aware that any of the creatures had escaped their interdimensional prison but she supposed it had been a chaotic time so it was understandable some had been able to slip through. As the monster noticed she had spotted it let out a cry before diving at her.
As the large monster flew at her she tried to call on her magic. "Koeia Spirited Shield" However as her star appeared behind her head it fizzed and exploded her magic failing to activate as the monster barrelled towards her. She brought up her arms to block the blow as it slammed into her claws tearing flesh and pushing her back. "Damnation, of course it fails me now." She cursed under breath. She hadn't yet sensed the other power near by.

Hamal has been out, on her own for once, patrolling when she came across such an interesting sight. She'd felt the aura, how could she not? But what she saw was even more shocking - a gargoyle. It wasn't just a gargoyle, cause those weren't abonrmal in the city, but rather it was attacking a senshi.
Watching as the senshi, she really was so very tall, tried to attack the gargoyle Hamal was shocked when the magic failed. Deciding to step forward, and help, she dark haired senshi moved i nclose before unleashing her own magic in the hopes of helping the taller female. "Talisman of Explosions!" Sending her out attack she moved closer to the other now.
"What's going on? I didn't know gargoyles were coming alive in the city." That was a big concern, given the size and weight behind them. If they were coming to life there were a lot of them in the city - that wasn't good. Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Talisman of Explosions As she speaks the first word two slips of bright yellow paper appears between her thumbs and index fingers. It is as the last word is spoken that markings for “explosions” in bright red symbols appear going down the bit of paper. Holding the talismans out toward the target (who must be within six feet of Sailor Hamal ), the talismans will dissolve into two reddish-orange colored ball energy with bits of yellow paper, which have turned into golden shards, suspended inside. The orbs are then launched forward towards the direction of her opponents at speeds similar to a racquet ball being smashed. Upon contact with a solid object the orb explodes and the flecks of sharp golden flecks of paper burst outward like a firework in a 3’ area around the point of impact. Upon contact the magic sparks will cause a character's exposed skin to burn, as though it were being held over an open fire. It may also feel like the magical shrapnel is cutting into the flesh but this sensation is akin to a cut worse than a paper cut, but not something bad enough to need stitches. This magic will last for thirty seconds can be cast three times. Players may aslo choose to sustain lasting damage in the form of deeper lacerations about two inches long (which can now slice through uniforms), but this is player choice and is an additional chosen affect, not a guaranteed one.

Koeia winced at the slashes across her forearms they weren't too deep but the wounds still stung. She was surprised when the other senshi made her presence known. The girl looked vaguely familiar but Koeia couldn't place her, the human faces her old colleagues now wore made it harder for the ancient senshi to identify them. Thankfully the magic was still the same when the young super senshi cast her spell a memory clicked in her head.
"Hamal! Sailor Hamal of Talismans is that you!?" She exclaimed. She had met a previous existence of the girl before her millennia ago during her wanderings. It was an interesting feeling meeting some many old faces in new bodies on this planet. The surprise had momentarily distracted the woman from the monster that was currently stumbling back its body smoking from the magic. The old senshi refocused.
"That's not a gargoyle." She had spotted such creatures perched on rooftops of certain older looking buildings around the city. She had had learned about them with the help of the Human information sharing repository that they called the inter webs. Apparently the creatures were extremely passive not even moving in most case and they scared away evil spirits from the domicile they resided above. "It is a being from an interdimensional world it seems to feed on energy." She explained what little she knew from her experience a few months ago.
She delivered a strong kick to the monster shoving it back away from the two senshi.

She was surprised the other knew her name, as she did not know them. "Yes, that is who I am." She sounded shy, hesitent even, but she had a confidence to her when it came to fighting the gargoyle. She had gotten used to using her magic and needing to fight, even if she still did not like fighitng. She didn't think she'd ever much like violence. But sometimes she needed to stand up and do something in order to help others, she'd been learning.
"Oh! But that ..." Shaking her head, hair flapping about as she did so. "It's a magic thing...because they look like gargoyles." And those she knew had a histopry, even in asia there were similar things...they just didn't look the same. But the idea behind them seemed to be a shred thing - like dragons. They looked different in various places about the planet but they were the same in their essence.
"I hope this is easy to kill...because it looks heavy." And very upset with them, though she did notice it seemed to be losing bits of itself...falling off like little dust clouds. when it came for her, no surprise there, she didn't kick it because her slippers were useless for such a thing. She had to use magic, again, she didn't care to explain to her cousins why she had a broken toe, foot, or ankle or some combination. "Talisman of Sparks." She was sure they could finish it,. as she saw dust coming off it from her kick, she was certain of it. Quote: Sailor Scout Attack:Talisman of Sparks As she speaks the first word a slip of bright yellow paper appears between thumb and index fingers. It is as the last word is spoken that markings for “sparks” in bright red symbols appear going down the bit of paper. Upon contact with a solid object the orb explodes and the flecks of sharp golden flecks of paper burst outward like a firework in a 3’ area around the point of impact. Upon contact with exposed skin the magic sparks will feel like the skin is burning, like being close to an open flame. It may also feel like the magical shrapnel is cutting into the flesh but this sensation is akin to a paper cut. The magic will last for thirty seconds and can be used three times. Koeia watched as the girl unleashed her magic again it seemed to blow a chunk away from the monster, it was stumbling around now with much of its body blasted away. It would not last much longer by Koeia's estimation from the senshi's onslaught.
The monster roared before lunging forward in a desperate attack. Koeia decided to try her magic one more time. "Koeia Spirited Shield!" This time it worked as a star appeared behind her head she dashed forward to put herself in the monster's path her arms open wide allowing it to drive its claws into her heart. However miraculously when it's claws would have pierced her chest it instead found its claws in its own chest. That was the final blow as the creature crumbled to dust.
Koeia let out a sigh a relief. "It's dead. Thank you for your assistance Sailor Hamal!" She turned to the young senshi appreciatively. "Oh but I suppose I haven't actually introduced myself to this incarnation of you. It is a pleasure to meet you young senshi, my name is Sailor Koeia I am the Senshi of Miracles." She introduced herself with a friendly smile. Koeia Spirited Shield Koeia calls out her attack name as she claps her hands together. She is blessed with a protective miracle as a star appears behind her head. All damage done to her is reflected back onto whoever hurt her, so she can't hurt herself to do damage to someone else but anything they do to her is directly done to them instead. She can only perfectly reflect all first stage attacks, she splits the damage of a second stage attack (she takes half, they take half), take 75% of a third stage attack while they take 25%,and she cannot block a fourth stage attack at all. This damage vanishes when the attack ends unless the other player wants it to persist. Duration: 25 seconds Radius of effect: 5 feet Uses: 3

She'd been about to shout for the other to watch out, those claws were going to surely hurt the other. But instead the gargoyls claws entered it's own body! Was that the other senshi's magic; to reverse an attack onto it's owner? That was good magic to have, if that was the case. She was relieved to see the other ok, thoough she notw was able to see how different the other looked. "How do you know me? No one really knows me." Aside from her family and boyfriend, that was it. She didn't go out and socalize at all...she was a bit too shy for that.
"You said this incarnation of me....does that mean in the ancient past we knew each other?" And still remembered her somehow? Had she regained memories of the past? "Hamal, senshi of Talismens...but you know that." Smiling at the taller female. This was...odd and interesting but in a good sort of way. "I'm not that young...I'm twentytwo years old." And that was young but she wasn't a teenager anymore either. "If you don't mind me asking...why do yhou look different." Different from normal people on Earth of course.

"We did." The alien senshi confirmed. "I met a prior you in the past. Oh my apologies I don't mean to offend, most beings are very young compared to me." She assured with a laugh.
"I presume you mean why do I not look like a Human? That would be because I am not from Earth, I am of the Planet Koeia so I carry the characteristics of the Koeian people." She said gesturing at her body.
"If you'd lend an old soul a bit of your time I'd be happy to tell you about it." She had nothing better to do with her evening than catch up with an old acquaintance in a new skin. She probed the area with her aura sense ensuring there were no other enemies that would interrupt them.

"So you're..ancient? Like before the silver millenium? I mean you'd have to be right, I heard life everywhere ended around then." Of course surely, over the course of time, civilzations fell but everything had ended once the moon kingdom had fallen - right? Everyone had than been reborn here...but she wasn't from here and had arrived here - not been reborn. So there had been life in space than, or was there still life in space? Hadn't her cousin mentioned an alien once to her. He had, she was certain of it but she'd simply forgotten about it, it had been so long ago and such a small thing.
"I have time, I don't think my cousins will mind if I'm ouit for a while." And if they called, because she did carry her cellphone on herself in subspace, she'd answer them. "I'd like to hear about the past...Was this war happening even back then? Oh! And we should find somewhere to sit, somewhere comfortable." Not wanting the other to think she had bad manners, or to just stand around talking for what could be a while. It would be rude to expect the other to stand and talk to her for a while and not have tired feet, or just want to relax while talking.

"The Silver Millennium, that was the name of the lunar empire which ruled this star system a millennia ago, correct? Yes I lived during that time. I'm afraid I was busy with troubles of my own system when the Silver Millennium fell so I'm not aware of what was happening here. All I know is the little I've learned since I arrived on this planet a few months ago. However I did spend the first few centuries of my life traveling around the universe." She explained.
She smiled and motioned for the young woman to lead the way to a more appropriate location. Once they were sat down the older senshi began. "By war I presume you mean your war with this Negaverse. No, no such organization existed in those days. I understand they were involved in the fall of Silver Millennium but they must have been a newly found group right before the fall because when I visited this system last it was a peace. Of course there were small skirmishes here and there. Senshi who fancied themselves conquerors or mad tyrants who found other means of magical might but those were all small scale conflicts comparatively. Mostly the worlds lived in harmony. The senshi acted as guardians and shepherds for their people some as rules others advisors and others still as simply protectors. For the places fortunate enough to have them Knights protected and nurtured their wonders. I cannot speak for every world of course but I had not seen true conflict or the first 4 centuries of my life."

"Yes, that's what it was called." She answered softly. She still couldn't at times believe it, that such an empire had exsisted, and nothing remained of it. They, senshi and knights, were the only remains along with mauvians. They had memories, which came with time, but that was it. If they had never woken and the mauvians had never turned up...than it was like it had never happened. How no one had ever dug up proof was a shock. she was sure magic was the blame.
"I can't say that I know what happened during the fall either. I don't have those memories." If they were memories she'd ever have, she didn't know what she'd been involved in back then.
Staed, hands in her lap, she nodded his head. "I'm not surprised to hear that about some senshi in the past. Give power to a person, even if they aren't the same as us on Earth, and it will get to some. The odds are in the favor of such small things happening...but at least it seems the time was mostly peaceful - here was peaceful."
To think of such peace, to not have such a conflict, it seemed like a blessing. Though it was funny how only some years ago she'd had no clue about this whole world going on and now she couldn't go back to that time, to that ignorance. She knew there was a war and now she wished for peace, and not the false peace she thought had actually been real.

She offered a soft smile, one of compassionate wisdom born from centuries of experience. "My people had a saying 'Power reveals all.' When one has the ability to do anything you will learn exactly what they always wanted to do. Sadly neither Cauldron nor Code can guarantee that those blessed with power have the character worthy to hold it." She spoke thinking back to some of those ancient tyrants and conquerors and wondering what had befallen them, had they too been ultimately bested by this Negaverse like the Silver Millennium was or perhaps they had done the unthinkable and joined the ruinous powers.
"It was such a different time to live in, the worlds hummed with magic back then. It is so strange living here where the people of this world are so reliant on combustion generated energy. I wonder if that is the product of them being without their senshi." She mused to herself. It was hard to wrap her brain around the state of the world, it was like it was robbed of a core part of its existence. Yet still it was a miracle in and of itself it persisted and in some ways thrived all on its own, perhaps that spoke to the robust nature of humans.
"Things must always change but that does not mean that they cannot be better than what came before." She said shaking her head slightly to clear her thoughts. "My peace is gone, but you and the other young senshi and knights on this planet I think you all will build a new peace."

Listening to the other the senshi of talismens found herself nodding slowly. "I can see where that would be true. The same for money I suppose as well. Those who have all the money show just what sort of people they are. They may have had nothing...but once they gain they show whatever true colors they have hidden." They might have been sympathetic before hand but might not be once they had money...they might not care for others as they once had...meaning they really never had. They simply did it because it seemed right and because they were similar than. It was very similar to what the older senshi was saying.
"You mean a Sailor Earth? I don't think I've ever even heard of such a senshi...or do you mean the moon senshi?"
Shaking her head she smiled up at the other, who was a lot taller than herself. "I do not know if we will. Sometimes it seems an impossible thing...to win this war. It seems at a stand still really. Neither side making any drastic moves against the other. A constant thing hiding in the wings but never coming out to actually fight and finish things. It leaves a person on edge I fear. Go to a new buisness and find out the Negaverse is running it the hard way." Shrugging she clasped her hands together and held to her skirt. "I know you will find your peace again, I'm sure you'll revive it on your planet and with you guiding it things will be as they should. I do wonder how no one has found remains of the ancient past...how there is no writting of it but we have all sorts of otehr accounts of history - even from over a thousand years ago. Could magic have wiped the proof away? So we can't know the truth and the normal people cannot fight for it? Can't long for the peace returned?" It was a shame so few people knew what had been lost..and so few fought for it - tried to regain it.
"I don't know if we'll ever regain what was lost, I don't know if the people now would even want it with how they've moved on."

"No I'd suspect you wouldn't have, I asked a Mauvian about the senshi of this planet when I first arrived and was told no such being was active. I would guess they have not yet been awoken in this age or perhaps they died in obscurity and await rebirth at the Cauldron. But a planet as radiant as this surely must have had a senshi of their own. I find it had to believe that solely the moon senshi guarded both their own brilliant moon and this planet." She explained her thoughts to the young senshi.
"You must never give up on impossible things, it is when you face impossible things that true miracles occur. Believe me, I have seen the spirit of your generation the fire with which you all fight gives me complete confidence you will win. It may not be today or tomorrow, it maybe not even be in the next century but I believe you will drive Chaos from this world and reclaim peace. If it means you so little by little, business by business as you say then so be it." She would offer her full support to the endeavor for whatever it was worth and for however long she had.
"Thank you." She said closing her eyes as she thought of home of her ravaged world imagining it once again beautiful and bright with its crystal clear waters and verdant islands. "I hope so, the work I have seen here to restore the worlds brings me hope I only pray I live long enough to correct my own mistakes and I do not leave them to another me." She spoke a quick prayer in her native language to the Cauldron.
She thought on the other's questions of magic's seeming retreat. "I think the people of this world simply forgot how to look. They live their lives with eyes half closed unable to see the magic that permeates the world around them. They were left without leaders or guardians for so long the reality of magic escaped them. But it is returning, across the universe as more senshi and knights awaken, as you all reach your potential, more magic is made apparent in the world. Give the people time I am sure they will come to remember the magic that was once so natural to their lives." It was conjecture, she could only speculate when the world was not her own but she believed it must be the case.

"Would it even be possible for a senshi to take on their world and another? It seems like it would be wrong like some sort of offence. Almost like saying the other planet can't portect itself - that it needs an outsider to do the job. It would be insulting I'd think and cause great offence among the people of the second, senshiless, planet. Plus, wouldn't magic or something create a senshi if one was needed?" She wasn't entierly sure how things worked but that made some sense - right? If a senshi was needed, if knights were needed, didn't whatever controlled all this just create one? They might have to awaken, of course, but still it would be created so no need for an outsider was arise. That would cause issues; she was certain of it.
"I'd rather see this done within our generation. It shouldn't be a burden for the next generation, between us dying and being reborn chaos can get out of hand." And when they were all reborn than it might be an impossible task, chaos would have the upper hand. They weren't reborn...they corrupted people all the time. They didn't need to be reborn and such. They could keep replenishing their forces.
"It seems we both don't want to leave burdens to others." She said after the other spoke, smiling at the taller female. "Let's hope we both see things to an end and others, after us, can live in peace without the need to fight. I know if you need help in fighting for your world I'll be there; however you need it." She wanted to help and not just because the other was a fellow senshi, even though she was, but rather bcause peace needed to be achieved and neither of them wanted to pass the burden on to others. She would help assure that for the other.
"I like that...I'd like people to know, so we don't have to hide. I think....I think it's something little children dream about, magic and fairytales and such, but as they grow older it escapes them. I think if they still had that they might be less jaded and perrhaps have more hope in things. It also would put an end to all this secret keeping - and I'd like that." She said the last part while smiling and even giggled and laughed. She really would like to stop hiding what she was from her aunt and uncle, who had been so kind as to take her in. She might not like how they treated her cousin Seung but she still loved them. They hadn't needed to take her in; but they had.
"Perhaps you are right on how people forgot...but no one has found, or seen, proof of people living on the moon. We can go there and see it though...you do know that right? We can go visit the moon." Now focusing big, wide, brown eyes onto the other as she questioned her. She hadn't been there but she knew people could go. Would the other want to go and see? Space was something still very new to her but she would go, especially with this other senshi who knew so much.

"Whether through divine providence or through conquest, Senshi have ruled over multiple worlds and even multiple star systems. However I do not believe this to be the case for this world, it has enough power that I would find it hard to believe it does not have its own Guardian even if they have not made themselves apparent. I cannot pretend to know the Cauldron's will but I do not think it would leave a golden world like this Senshi-less." She explained her thoughts.
She smiled. "Only a fool does not heed the wisdom of children. A fresh mind is a powerful thing." She laughed. "I'm sure you are aware of glamors, the eyes see what the mind tells them, since they don't know to look for a moon kingdom they will not see a moon kingdom."
"I have heard that the Senshi of this planet have the ability to travel to your moon, I would love to visit it with you." She stood up with a friendly grin. She offered her hand to the other Senshi and waited for her to take to the shinning silver planet that sat above them in the heavens.
