The Spiders (5): Webs have begun to appear all over Destiny City at an alarming pace; at first it doesn’t seem like anything to be concerned with–maybe a web over a window or door frame is the worst you see, but there have been reports of webs that cover a whole tree or even entire cars. The media cites changing weather patterns and, even though you don’t see any spiders, it’s clear you might have a problem. Once, Destiny City had a bad run in with Giant Spiders. Now, you can’t even see them. Tiny little spiders are either passing through for the season–or they’re back for revenge. It depends on how superstitious you are. Either way, these little spiders might be small–almost always tinier than a pea–but they can still leave a bit of damage in their wake. Their legs are tiny and needle-like, and their fangs are even worse. They might show up alone or in a swarm, but they always disappear shortly after attacking. And, these spiders are very aggressive. Being bitten can cause nausea, dizziness, fatigue and hallucinations. These symptoms can begin immediately or can manifest up to a few hours afterwards, but the symptoms always seem to clear up within a day or two. Just be careful not to get bitten again.
Dreama was headed out again, one cool morning and noticed a single Spider Web across her Dorm Rom Door. Strange, these Americans kept everything so spotless. She knocked it down, and then went on her way to breakfast -while the school had their own cafeteria, she preferred getting her own Irish Breakfast at an Irish Pub down the street. But before she could get there - the traffic was detoured - due the largest spider web she had ever seen - it covered a two-lane road! She murmured in shock to the person next her on the sidewalk, "Now, I've seen huge spiderwebs, in Ireland, doncha know - but this tops all..."

"Ireland?" The figure next to her questioned, looking up from where he was sipping a coffee." Fionan had just gotten a morning coffee, so he could wake up a bit, before heading to his morning hurling practice. He just was not a morning person and needed to wake up, he did not need to take a hurly to the head because he was too tired to notice it.
"This city had an issue a few years back as well - similar to this." Fionan added after a moment. . And he could only assume something was going to happen again, at least it seemed liek it, and the idea of spiders big enough to make those webs was worrying. Why did this city have to be such a mess...

"Yeah, I'm quite new here, came to find long lost cousins and to attend Sovereign Heights. But this city, doncha know..." she stared at the web in silence, and listened the guy talk about the incident from a few years back. Suddenly, the web began to vibrate, with the running of many tiny spiders. In horror, Dreama muttered, "Oh not again." She looked to the gentleman she had been speaking to as people began to panic and asked, "Is this normal for this city, or is it apart of this city's Samhain magic- er I believe Americans celebrate "Halloween'?"

Long lost cousins brought someone to this city? Good luck to them on that, this city was not the easiest to live in that was for certain. He knew people who tried to leave as soon as they could, including a former classmate of his. This city was dangerous after all...and most people didn't like living in a city they knew was dangerous. Surprised by the vibrating of the web his attention turned, rather quickly, towards it.
"It's not part of Samhain but it is normal in this city for things to happen around the holidays. They aren't always bad things.,..but bad things also do happen. It feels like what you'd expect in the old countries, where fae and the little people came from. You'd expect tricks, some nasty and some not so nasty, to happen all around this time of year. Here...it happens, including what I imagine are hell hounds of some sort." Though no one had seen them really...it had hit the news - again.
"This city is a mess really."

This fellow seemed to know a lot about the old countries - she'd have to look him up later - that thought was lost to her as the reason for the massive vibration of the web was soon known - Tiny Spiders numbering in the millions were running down it towards what they thought was their feast - the townspeople in that area. Dreama watched wide-eyed as they came down - "I'm gonna say this one's not a good thing... We need to get everyone of here, you got any ideas?"

"I'd say light the web, and the spiders, on fire if we can. I doubt anyone around has a lighter though." And he really doubted a few people in the crowd would have a lighter, so they'd have more ligthers and could do more damage to the web and all it's little spider inhabitants.
"Seeing as that's not an option - run. We just run and escape them." And he could get to practice, late as he'd be, he was sure it would be understood...though he did tend to run late for things normally. He was sure this would be understood especially when he was sure this would make the news.
Shouting for people to run, not stare, he motioned for them to do just that - run. "We can't kill them all." Damn it, how he wished they could though. He understood that spiders were needed...but not this damn many, and he was certain something was off about this all.

The spiders started to surround the crowd. Dreama frowned, and then had an idea. She jumped nimbly over the thinnest length of spiders, leaving the crowd and Finonan to be surrounded by and at the mercy of the spiders. "I'm going to get help!" She called to him. She disappeared behind some buildings. A minute later from the opposite direction came a young woman in Hip-Hop Clothes. She pointed at the thinnest group of spiders and called out: Sailor Scout Attack: Lord of Dance's Rhythmic Curse IWhile channeling her magic, Sailor Terpsichore does a brief dance and points at a target. A 'curse' is brought down on the target, giving them a powerful impulse to match her moves and dance in rhythm for 30 seconds (the target is able to fight this urge to a certain degree but may feel slight anxiety if they fail to repeat her dance moves perfectly for the duration of the magic). While Terpsichore's dance will only last for up to three seconds, she can customize the moves for her target to copy in that time frame, and they must repeat the rhythm until the magic ends. This magic has 3 uses, and the target must be within 10 feet. She can target multiple people at once while demonstrating the magic's rhythm. A massive group of the spiders stopped what they were doing and looked at her, she danced them away from the circle (the other spiders tried to fill it) then she looked at Fionan, and with an Irish accent, called, 'Get them out while you can1"

Watching the spiders surround the people, himself included, Fionan was starting to feel really closed in and he didn't like it - this wasn't good. His first thought was not to power up, especially with all these people about, but it wasn't his first thought because he didn't do many senshi things and hadn't ever really. It was not the automatic responce he had. Though perhaps he should have thought of that. He had for traveling across the city at night, with the hell hounds out and about.
The sight of a senshi trigged the idea ofr him and he found a quick route to escape by, nearly being drown in spiders in the process, and managed to get away so he could power up as well. He didn't realize, in al lthe chaos, that he had in fact been bitten by one of the little things. He'd notice that later - once home.

Teri sighed at the sight of her new acquaintance running off when she had specifically recruited him to help the others escape - and then a thought struck her - she too had 'run off'. She turned her attention back to the spiders in her care. The ones she had forced to dance, had indeed danced to death, and withered there before her. She felt a slight remorse and shook it off. She went back for another set and used her attack on them as well: Sailor Scout Attack: Lord of Dance's Rhythmic Curse IWhile channeling her magic, Sailor Terpsichore does a brief dance and points at a target. A 'curse' is brought down on the target, giving them a powerful impulse to match her moves and dance in rhythm for 30 seconds (the target is able to fight this urge to a certain degree but may feel slight anxiety if they fail to repeat her dance moves perfectly for the duration of the magic). This magic has 3 2 uses, and the target must be within 10 feet. She can target multiple people at once while demonstrating the magic's rhythm. She led them too away from the others, massively thinning out the circle of spiders around the frightened people. The remaining spiders grew antsy.

For now he made his way back to the spiders, and the scene of chaos that had unfolded. While there was a senshi involved, he had sensed them, the civilians were going a bit mad. Some scared of the senshi, and what they were seeing, but others over all the spiders. Either way they were all trying to get away.
He supposed there was a first time for everything, though was this really his first time? He honestly couldn't remember if he'd ever used his magic. But it did come to him what to do." Rolling fog." The words were spoken and the gesture, whoever horrible and akward it felt doing, came to him with some amount of ease.
Quote: Sailor Scout Attack: Rolling Fog Sailor Pleione chooses a target within 10' of where he is standing (himself, an enemy or an ally) then brings his hand to his mouth and blows as if he were blowing a kiss. A fog rolls out from the palm of his hand and engulfs the target in a 10' radius of dense fog. Effect 1: To those standing outside this mist other individuals find it difficult to see whomever is standing inside the epicenter of the fog and have an increased difficulty when trying to attack the person that is currently being shrouded. Effect 2: Enemies inside the fog find themselves under the effect of cold damp/ chilly air and may begin to shiver. For Allies they are unaffected by the cold and his attack works more as a barrier. Rolling Fog lasts for 20 seconds and can be used three times in battle. Though it is not dodge-able as the fog rolls out towards the enemy even as they move, whomever is inside can step out of it at will once the 7' radius has fully formed. [/qiote]

The second bunch of spiders fell lifeless at Sailor Terpsichore's feet, and she breathed a sigh of relief, and fell to one knee, having worked through most of her strength. Another Senshi came in and sent in a fog on the remaining spiders. She rested while he did his work, wanting to make sure the job was done, before she left. The Civilians were getting restless in their fear of them. Once she saw that the spiders were frozen. She nodded to him, with a look that said plainly, Hope to meet you properly one day. And then turned and fled for fear of the civilians. To make her story more believable - she did indeed call the Destiny City police for help. She hoped to meet Fionan again one day.

With the last of the spiders dead, thankfully, the senshi of fog took off as well. He saw civilians running, and rushing, and escaping before more spiders returned. It wouldn't be a bad idea, in his mind, to do the same damn thing. Plus he knew, from watching the news, that the civilian population of the city didn't really care for senshi either. That in mind, and seeing a few eyeing him, he decided to take off as well. Maybe he'd run into that senshi again, though he sort of doubted it. he did wonder about the civilian he'd been talking to...she'd sort of just vanished as well. Hmmm...
Oh well, he still had practice to get to and he was beyond late at this point. That in mind he went to find a safe place to power down and than head off for hurling practice - hee was gonna be stuck running laps...he knew it.
((Finished.))
