The Leaves (6): With the changing seasons, there are piles of leaves all around Destiny City. It’s a difficult job to try and keep up with them all, and sometimes the allure of these leaf piles is impossible to ignore. Who doesn’t want to relive the childish joys of their youth? And no one’s around to see, right? So why not jump into a pile of leaves? Oh–because, when you do, you jump through one pile and come out of another somewhere else across the city. The leaves all seem ordinary, but there’s a few odd seconds between when you jump into the leaves and when you jump out; it feels like falling, tumbling, somersaulting through the air. It’s not scary, just odd. You see walls of leaves–brown and orange and yellow and red–and they crunch magnificently. Overall, it doesn’t seem menacing, just a bit of trickster fun. If you try to jump in a pile of leaves again, you might wind up somewhere else entirely–or right back where you started.

Dant was making his way to the Bones House as a test to see if he could find his way, without getting lost. He had to do it alone. He thought he was doing well and making good time. So, he stopped for just a moment to enjoy the colorful environment around him. Drew/Etamin said that here there were sensational changes in the weather at certain points year like on Sekhmet. In the 'Summer', everything was green and alive, and hot - or at least warm by the former Court's standards. Then came 'Fall' or 'Autunm', which was now. Colder weather caused the leaves to die and, in the process, change colors and fall the ground and wither. Then came Winter, where most plants died or were bare, and snow and ice came down. In the Spring - the snow and ice melted, and everything blossom, and new animals were born.
Now was Autumn, he saw, and people were gathering the fallen leave into piles and the children seemed to like to jump in them, before they were taken away to be burned or what not. He watched this with interest, and suddenly a little girl jumped and did not come out...
Her mother became frightened for her. He ran up to her, and said, "Don't worry Ma'am I will go after her." "No... wait..."
He went and jumped in and found himself tumbling through a leafy tunnel. He found himself coming out very close to his friend Drew's house, and the little girl was near him, crying.
"Little one, I saw you fall through and talked to your mother. I came to get you, and I can bring you to a good police officer who can bring you home."
The little girl stopped crying, though she still looked scared and took his hand. He led her to Drew's house, and Drew was waiting on the porch and immediately he knew something was wrong. (Besides the fact that Dant was incredibly early, he brought with him a little girl that Drew did not recognize). "Dant, what's going on?" He asked in deep seriousness.
Dant explained the situation. Drew nodded and showed his badge to the little one and knelt and said, "It's going to be alright." She nodded. He was able to contact the department and they were able to get ahold of her parents. Later, Dant and Drew warned everyone they knew about the leaves.
Later when they had some time together, Drew remarked, "That was incredibly brave..." he paused, "and incredibly foolish." Dant was quiet. Somehow, he knew that Drew wasn't attempting to just compliment and insult him at the same time. Drew was merely going to point out better and wiser options that he could choose to follow next time.
"Next time, I'd appreciate if you at least let us know first. If that dimensional tunnel thing had led to say another world... we would at least be aware of the situation... and be able to start figuring what to do." Drew was kind with his words and caring, in a way that Hapii had never been. It was a nice change.
