Dant was frantic by this time. The eyes of his glamour were slightly bloodshot, and he was sweating. He was shaking badly, as he sat on the couch with his face in his hands. This was the sight (including the knotted blankets on the floor) that would greet his friends. He had called them all about 15 or 20 minutes ago.

Drew had just gotten off work and was headed home, when he got the call. Hearing the familiar sounds of grief and agitation in his friend's voice, he turned his car around and drove as fast as legally allowed to his partner's apartment, where his friend stayed. When he got to the door, he knocked but there was no answered. Worried, he called his partner.

Dant's eyes were bloodshot and red from crying. When he saw Drew, he ran to him, fell to his knees, and gripped Drew's uniform shirt his fists, crying, "Is this how it is for those of us who are responsible for the destruction of their Homewords? For I too am responsible for the destruction of my Homeworld!" In a rather loud voice.

Drew was in total shock. "Dant... What the hell... are you talking about?"

But Dant just keep going on.

Drew frowned and took Dant's hands off his uniform and led him back to the couch. "Take a deep a deep breath, and then start again calmly."

Dant inhaled slowly. "So, I was watching TV." "What were you watching?" "Something about a place called Egypt (much like Sekhmet) being destroyed by a foreign God with 10 plagues."

"What were you thinking about?" "Well, of course Sekhmet." "Then what happened?"

"I heard the voices." "Voices?" "The voices calling from Sekhmet. They were asking why I abandoned them and let them be destroyed." "Ah, did anything else happen?" "I turned off the show, tried to ignore them and rolled to sleep." "What happened then? What did you see?" "The destruction of Sekhmet. Then, I woke up and... and called all of you." "Hmm."

Drew stood and walked back to Myles and Jeremy. "I may have some idea what is going on."

Drew frowned. "Lately, especially with the holidays, lots of strange things have been going on. I have spoken with many people and one of the more common things is that one might hear a noise, sometimes common, like glasses clicking or such - over and over... every few seconds, minutes, or even up to days - the creepy thing is that it has no source and it will eventually stop suddenly for no known reason, which is worse. Furthermore, it could also be something worse as in a whisper, a wail or a cry for help." Drew paused and took a breath.

"I've heard it's worse with certain people. People who have experienced harsh things - like Dant has. I'm thinking that with the magic, he 'heard' his people and maybe others cry out to him - because though he doesn't show it, somewhere deep inside there is a lot of anger, regret and guilt for not being able to save what was his duty to protect. So, the magic projected a 'slight auditory hallucination' and his experiences drew it out and made it worse. He then probably tried to sleep it off and had a nightmare and we are seeing the effects."

"He should pull through this any moment, but if my police instincts are correct, the Halloween Magic, may have opened a can of worms. He may have something like PTSD or something and may need to talk to counselor or something - but we get one to talk to a DSS... I dunno."

He frowned again. "If it did this to Dant - I wonder what it would do to me?" he muttered under his breath.

Drew nodded at Myles's and Jeremy's ideas. "I think all of those things would help. Hmm, I could speak to Dria. Her double major includes counseling and teaching - though she is nowhere near finished and may never have the training for something such as this. Maybe they could just talk. And maybe we could have mm some sort of group session sometime. Cauldron knows I should probably be there." He inhaled slowly, then his eyes went to Myles. "Myles, you up for it?" He looked to Jeremy, "And we could always use a police officer's / non-powered person's point of view?"
