The Spiders (5) :Webs have begun to appear all over Destiny City at an alarming pace; at first it doesn’t seem like anything to be concerned with–maybe a web over a window or door frame is the worst you see, but there have been reports of webs that cover a whole tree or even entire cars. The media cites changing weather patterns and, even though you don’t see any spiders, it’s clear you might have a problem. Once, Destiny City had a bad run in with Giant Spiders. Now, you can’t even see them. Tiny little spiders are either passing through for the season–or they’re back for revenge.

It depends on how superstitious you are.

Either way, these little spiders might be small–almost always tinier than a pea–but they can still leave a bit of damage in their wake. Their legs are tiny and needle-like, and their fangs are even worse. They might show up alone or in a swarm, but they always disappear shortly after attacking. And, these spiders are very aggressive. Being bitten can cause nausea, dizziness, fatigue and hallucinations. These symptoms can begin immediately or can manifest up to a few hours afterwards, but the symptoms always seem to clear up within a day or two. Just be careful not to get bitten again.

Syrus had never been one for superstition, he didn't delve into the realms of it same as his peers, didn't fear ghosts or ghouls or stepping on cracks. Even with all the mysteries and oddities of destiny city? He was still a man firmly grounded in believing what his eyes could see, what his ears could hear, and so when reports came in of spiders that rivaled that of any fantasy film or fiction he'd ever read?

Rumors of giant creepy crawlers and sprawling eight legged freaks infesting Destiny City, well? Syrus paid them no mind. Ignored all warning signs, webbed doors, trees full of trapped leaves, the occasional dead rat, or squirrel or --- shoe hung high....

It wasn't until he came across a cocoon the size of a body mid patrol, that he began to accept there might be some verita to the stories blown out in ugly tabloids and late night sensationalized zines.

Still? A bunch of webbing and empty husks were so on the level of prank-dom, that Cryolite had to inspect further; heedless of the tiny trails of spindly legs that amassed amid hidden bark hollows, unawares of endless counts of eyes that watched him step like a leggy shadow deeper into their secluded forest lair. Feeling cocky enough to not be paying a lick of attention to anything beyond the moonlit path that was more interlaced with webbing than could be seen save at the highest point of midday......

Not that Cryolite would've cared. He wasn't superstitious, and four leaf clovers were for fools.

Coco didn't like the look of the city spider webs popping up everywhere after her time on the game board she did not like the look of this at all and it made it hard to sleep in her normal spot fearing she was going to be attacked by spiders. She didn't trust the news reports that it was normal nature, since normal didn't seem to be anything this city knew about. She wasn't the superstitious sort but she did believe in the strangeness of this city and little spiders out for revenge seemed normal in her book. She decided to go on the hunt for the city spiders and try to squash as many as she could.

After all they might be dangerous to the knights and senshi of the city. So the little guardian cat was on the hunt. The little calico cat ran along the streets hunting for spiders to take out.

Cryolite was less than halfway through his wanderings, peeking under leaves, round bends, the drainage runs of sidestreets --- following an every winding web of thinly spun silk; when he finally caught the tiniest of bodies scaling across the pavement.

Lines and lines of little legs, rows and rows of what looked like large bodied spiders, until he kicked out at them, and the shadow scattered into a horridly messy pile of little bugs.

He was relieved, barked a laugh at how his imagination had begun to win him over, thinking there were large spiders roaming about snatching up bodies....

Then the tiny bugs came back, coalesced into a form larger than his foot --- and struck out -- he was already screaming shrill and high as the thing latched at his ankle and crawled up his calf, scattering like pins and needles over each bit of exposed flesh.

It felt like fire -- he cried for ice, he cried for help! Shrouded himself in subzero temperatures, yet even as the dead froze off his form, more seemed to come. Out of the gutters, out of the trash, around every crevice n crack -- He was outnumbered, by a hoard of tiny spiders of all things!!

Sailor Scout Attack: "Sublime Shroud!"
Cryolite says the word, and his body temperature magically drops to below freezing. He is not affected by this, but anyone who comes in contact with him will feel as though they are touching dry ice and will feel as if they are suffering mild frostbite for as long as they are touching him, and for up to twenty seconds after they break contact. While he is channeling his magic, it will appear as if he is sublimating into a chilly, foggy vapor. The illusion of the cascading fog that bleeds off of Cryolite serves as a visual warning sign to any who can see it: it screams 'Super cold - Do not touch'.

No physical or lasting damage is done in this magic, only the very uncomfortable mental sensation of such. However, players can choose to sustain any lasting damage in the form of chills or up to mild frostbite.

Range: Touch/Grapple
Duration: 30 Seconds
Number of uses: 3
Number of targets: Whomever touches Cryolite

Coco came on the figure that was covered in spiders she jumped up on them and started to bat the spiders off since her star beam would only stun one target it would be of no use against a swarm of spiders. She was shocked by the chill of the figures skin and she was curious why it was so cold were they dying? She didn't have the time to ask so she kept attacking the spiders. She didn't pull her claws out since she didn't want to hurt the figure underneath the mass of spiders. In a way it was a relaxing battle since she hadn't taken the time to fight the spiders on the game board, it was kinda nice to get a little revenge on the icky creatures.

When Syrus felt something heft itself onto him, something furry and far larger than any spider he ever wanted to imagine in any nightmare he could ever have, he nearly screamed anew. Bit it back beneath chattering teeth and a frosty hiss once he realized that -- no -- it was not a re-sequeling of 'eight legged freaks' come live to the real world near him -- it was instead a cat, order aura, but who was he to care when she was saving him!!

If anyone ever dared ask? None of it'd ever happened, he'd never met the cat, he wasn't caught being netted up by a writhing pool of very distressing spiders...

"Whoever you are, thank you, and please feel free to kill them faster!" some bitter joy beneath the icy beg, for crushing the spidery beasts beneath his heels. Less so for crushing them whenever he swatted them with an errant hand --- ooooh -- he was going to be shivering at the thought of crawling spiderparts for daaayyyssss.....

"Why me...why spiders. I hate spiders."
