Gender/Pronoun: Cis woman, she/her
Age: 30
Birthday: July 14th, 1992
Sign: Cancer
Gemstone: Pearl
Blood Type: O-
Fav. Food: Steak, hamburgers, hotdogs... home cooked meat, pretty much.
Hated Food: TV dinners, microwavable stuff.
School/Occupation: Pursuing a Marine Biology PhD at DCU / Teaching assistant/undergrad lecturer in the DCU Biology department.
Alma Mater: Studied Marine Biology at DCU for her undergrad, after attending Crystal Academy.Hobbies:filling your dreams to the brim with fright (Horror and Macabre): Look, when you spend as much time as she does looking at the stuff that lives in the depths of the deep blue... you’d start getting curious what people around the world like to say about it, too. H.P. Lovecraft is a childhood favorite of hers, much to her aunt’s dismay and her uncle’s massive amusement. Over the years her interest in the dismal and creepy has extended beyond the water—though there’s oodles of creepy stories focused around water in oh so much folklore…—and has expanded to include a lot of the popular depictions of gore, creepy killers, and the supernatural. Still her all time favorite stories, games, movies, collectables... will all contain elements of water life... and water deaths.
darling, it’s better, down where it’s wetter: under the sea! (Water World): Eva is certified for diving. She loves to snorkel. She adores swimming in (most) bodies of water. Half the reason she got into marine biology was just for the excuse to try to get a career that requires her to gear up in a wetsuit and jump in. As a kid, she dreamed of being a mermaid. As an adult, she still wishes she could be a mermaid—it’d be more convenient than having to rely on oxygen tanks or submersibles—but she makes due with what she’s got. Ironically, she hates getting caught in the rain. The idea of wet clothes does not interest her, and she bundles up quite a bit when the clouds start rolling in. She always carries a small umbrella in her huge purses just in case.
one man’s trash, that’s another man’s come-up (Antiques): If you’ve got the money, flaunt it. Or something like that. Her love of the water life aside, Eva’s got expensive taste when it comes to her decor and wardrobe. Mainly, she loves French fashions and designs, anything that comes with an expensive tag and has age in its value. Most of her apartment is furnished with her findings, or newer creations made by local artists that look the part of antique fab. Still, Eva loves making trips to thrift stores, antique dealers, exhibits, shows, private collections... and trying to get her hands on whatever she can with her parents’ money. Though she’s not as interested in the history of the pieces, she does still listen with full attention when dealers and collectors can tell her more about the region the styles are from, the creator, or anything that can add not just value to the piece, but sentimental value for her.
don’t go lookin’ for a mermaid, son, if you don’t know how to swim (Mermaid Collectibles): Eva’s got a kinda huge collection of different art, plushies, figurines, dolls, shirts, skirts, hair accessories, jewelry.... plates, mugs... pillow cases.... Really, you name it, and if someone out there has put a mermaid on it, Eva either wants it immensely or already has it. It’s not a surprise most of her apartment is covered in a nautical theme—industrial nautical, really, due to many of her antiquing trips—and her mermaid collection fits right in. Particularly biased towards the more macabre depictions of the mythical maidens, she does enjoy the childish and rainbow pastel versions as well.
let’s get real and spill the tea (Gossip): Eva likes being around people, and more than that, she likes to know everyone’s business. Even if it’s just rumors with no objective evidence, Eva wants to hear about it—the juicer, the better. She usually justifies this by saying that it’s good to stay informed or that she just wants to help. There’s truth to that latter statement: when things in her own life feel like they’re spiraling out of control, Eva does try to help others so she won’t feel like such a mess. One of the best ways she knows to do this is by offering advice, offering to meddle, or giving someone a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on.…… But beyond that, Eva just likes getting to hear about everybody’s drama. She wants to hear who’s been sleeping with whom, who’s been pulling longer hours than usual, who said what about whom behind their backs, and all of the messy business. If she intended to deploy this intel maliciously, she might see it as a problem, but as far as she’s concerned, she just has a healthy amount of curiosity in other people’s affairs.Virtues:tea and sympathy (Soothing Babbles): Sympathetic to her core, Eva has long taken on the idea that if she can help take some of the burden off someone’s shoulder, whatever the circumstances may be, she has to at least
try. This can extend anywhere from treating someone to a meal, to random drops of candy or coffee (or tea, or other snacks... if she happens to know the person’s preferred snacks or beverages, she'll aim for that) being dropped by their desk (apartment, house, whatever), to of course being the shoulder someone can sob on. Eva’s aware she can’t just magically fix peoples’ problems, though if she’s able to offer advice on how to try and deal with a situation, she’ll put forth the advice along with whatever else she can offer. But usually? That’s usually well outside her capabilities, much as she would love to be able to financially support people around her, or wiggle her nose and all their problems poof out of the world. So she’ll try and distract them with little things to attempt to cheer them up. It’s not uncommon for dear friends of hers to get brought out on shopping trips, bar hopping, expensive meals out, movies, or any combo of the above, if she’s aware they’ve been having a rough time. She’s also damn good at being that supportive friend who’s totally willing to join in someone's ranting against their horrible roommates, exes, or whomever else could be blamed for the friend’s misfortunes.
like a river flows surely to the sea (Persistent): Kind mannered though she mostly is, once the girl’s got a concept in her head—a project she wants to tackle, an assignment that needs to be finished, a new piece to her collection she has to find…—she’s tenacious in her course to get there. She’s got the head to plan out what she needs to get the job done, and the flexibility to adjust her course if necessary due to the inevitable unforeseen problems that tend to happen with all well made plans. It’s not to say she gets tunnel vision—she’s perfectly capable of still seeing the larger picture around her goals, and if necessary she
can and
will put off her original goals if a greater force that be (her boss, her friends, family...) require her to refocus for a time on something. She hasn’t
forgotten her original goals however, and can often still be found chipping away at her original plans as she focuses the majority of her attention and resources on whatever other project needs her. Soon as the moment allows, she’s back to her original course, even if it might have looked like she’d let the goal go dormant for a while.
Patience is most certainly a virtue, and good things most certainly come to those whom can
wait.
just keep swimming, just keep swimming (Trickling Erosion): Kill ‘em with kindness is the old saying. Eva’s just sort of adapted a version of “convince them with kindness”—and if that doesn’t work, just keep working away at them till they crumble. Very much a persuasive personality, her tenacity makes her all the more keen to work with people as much as possible to convince them why her way is the optimal course to flow. Bribing with little gifts—or larger ones, should the situation allow—is not out of the question for her, along with playing up flattery, hitting the books to get the backing for why her ideas are ideal... the list goes on. If her course of action requires her to break someone down to see
her way, there are few things she won’t consider to make the plans work. It certainly makes her an ideal person to have on your team when you're looking for research grants, bargain hunting, an epic wing woman....
you must be swift as a coursing river (Decisive): When Eva sets her mind to something, she will move Heaven and Earth to make sure that it gets done. She dislikes wasting time on waffling between ideas or possibilities, so she tries to do that as little as she can get away with. Yes, she gives herself some time to consider the options before her, but she’s good at weeding through them to pick the path or approach that feels like the best idea to her. Once she has made that choice, she throws herself behind it full-force and does everything she can to make things happen in the way that she thinks they should.Flaws:changing with the tides (Weather On The Open Ocean): Eva’s moods... can change. Fast. One moment she’s bright and sunny. The next, she’s got storm clouds rumbling around her and she’s looking to pick a fight. The usual culprits behind these changes are to be expected from a girl like her: friends being upset by specific people, goals getting upset in a particularly frustrating way, and so on. If Eva can’t get her way, her temper’s quick to flare and she’ll be—in her mind—understandably upset with the situation. Though she won’t start throwing punches, that verbal whip of hers will be out and cracking. Eventually she’ll cool down and reassess the situation to figure out how to best try and salvage the situation, but there’s certainly the chance that her own temper could have ruined such a chance, depending on whom sees or hears what. When she’s in a nasty mood, Eva’s not against using someone’s faults or problems to rip them a new one, and can become quite creative in her angles of personal attack and verbal assault if she happens to know someone else’s history and secrets. It’s cost her some dear friendships through the trials of university life, and certainly branded her a few bad ways in high school, so Eva has definitely come to learn there’s some things bribes won't help to fix if she lashes out too badly at people.
down to the fathoms below (Dark Depths): Though she’s always open to others sharing their problems with her, Eva’s not too keen on vice versa. To put it lightly, the girl’s got her
secrets. This can land anywhere from her stress around daily activities at work, to projects piling up, to social issues and even worse in some cases. Instead of calling out for help from
any source, she keeps her lips shut. Often, this is in at least some part due to insecurities about not wanting to “bore” anyone with her problems, or
burden them. No one has to be burdened with her issues, she can handle them, and certainly others have it way worse than her! It doesn’t really occur to her that others might be just as willing to help her out, as she’s willing to assist them. In her own mind, she’d just be causing problems for other people by opening up. This can cause her to become additionally stressed by situations around her, as she feels she can’t vent to others around her, or seek help for her problems. Her sense that only
she can deal with the problems has a tendency to compound issues, only increasing her chances of lashing out at people in her frustrations.
i use it on behalf of the miserable, lonely, and depressed (Sneaking Tendrils): Eva means well, genuinely means well. But at the end of the day, she’s willing to go to great lengths to get others to go along with her ideas, her plans, her plots—and that can extend to getting back at people who are the source of problems of her loved ones. When it comes to having to get her way in situations, and get her course plotted out exactly as she needs it to be, she’s aware it often comes with having to... convince people her way is best. By whatever means she has at her disposal. For all her good intentions, Eva is most certainly the
manipulative type, willing to say or do whatever she needs to to try and push her ideals forward. Her tendency to listen to people ranting and raving about their lives gives her a wonderful opportunity to learn some not so good secrets about others, something she is well aware of and very capable of utilizing to her—and her loved ones’, in her mind—advantage.
with all the force of a great typhoon (Steamroller): Facing down problems, Eva has very little tolerance for waffling or giving herself too much time to think about things. She doesn’t consider herself impulsive, because she does try to think about things before she just runs headlong into different situations. But, well.…… When Eva sets her mind to something, she will move Heaven and Earth to make sure that it gets done. No matter the costs or what it takes, she will see her ideas actualized……even if she’s nominally doing this for other people, but not necessarily thinking about what they actually want. Not only does Eva dislike feeling indecisive, she also dislikes hearing that she’s been going too far, or that she isn’t really listening to people, or that she needs to calm down and let other people decide things for themselves. She means well! In most situations, she has the best intentions! But regardless, Eva still tends to push through, pursuing her own path that she has decided on, likely with very little in the way of feedback from anyone else, and won’t stop until she decides she’s done.Knight Title: Dunwich, Page of Neptune
Lineage: Descended.
Uniform: here!Weapon & MagicPage Weapon: An
anatomical heart made out of driftwood (
most of the heart is wood), with roots curling around it, it’s the size of her hand and hollow. Trying to smack it against someone wouldn’t hurt, but she can put money into the heart if she wants to grab a snack on patrol! The markings and debris on the heart make it look as if it’s been in the ocean for a long time, though there are carvings along the wood that seem
particularly chilling when looked at for too long....
Squire Weapon: An anatomical heart made of driftwood, the roots have been replaced by creeping tendrils akin to tentacles. These dark, creeping tentacles do not move however are a bit sticky—though only able to stick to each other, giving her a way to wrap the tentacles around herself. Convenient when she doesn’t want to carry around her weapon or de-summon it. The tendrils only stretch out to about a foot, but are not strong enough for her to hit opponents with the heart (while holding the tendrils) without breaking the tendrils.
Squire Magic: Focusing her magic, the heart begins to pulsate and plays a deep, strange melody. At first, it sounds like a haunting mix of a piano, violin, and flute. For any Chaos agent that stands within a 10 feet diameter range of Dunwich, they begin to hear a strange, unknown language in the notes. This “gibberish” fuels a disturbing sensation of being watched, hunted, and being incredibly
small against something that lurks within the depths of the water.... Should they be standing in, or near any water, they would glimpse visions of strange... indescribable creatures lurking around them. This sensation only lasts for as long as Dunwich channels her magic, and she only has a magic pool of 45 seconds.
Knight Weapon: An anatomical heart, made of
dark carved wood, ripples with veins and tendrils that though they cannot move, are a bit sticky and able to stick to themselves to give her makeshift handles to hold her weapon by. The tendrils only stretch out to about three feet, but are not strong enough for her to hit opponents with the heart (while holding the tendrils) without breaking the tendrils.
