Quote:
The Spiders (5) :Webs have begun to appear all over Destiny City at an alarming pace; at first it doesn’t seem like anything to be concerned with–maybe a web over a window or door frame is the worst you see, but there have been reports of webs that cover a whole tree or even entire cars. The media cites changing weather patterns and, even though you don’t see any spiders, it’s clear you might have a problem. Once, Destiny City had a bad run in with Giant Spiders. Now, you can’t even see them. Tiny little spiders are either passing through for the season–or they’re back for revenge.

It depends on how superstitious you are.

Either way, these little spiders might be small–almost always tinier than a pea–but they can still leave a bit of damage in their wake. Their legs are tiny and needle-like, and their fangs are even worse. They might show up alone or in a swarm, but they always disappear shortly after attacking. And, these spiders are very aggressive. Being bitten can cause nausea, dizziness, fatigue and hallucinations. These symptoms can begin immediately or can manifest up to a few hours afterwards, but the symptoms always seem to clear up within a day or two. Just be careful not to get bitten again.

It was impossible to not notice all the webs in the city, even average people were talking about it. Though most of them didn't think anything bad of it, why they wouldn't he didn't know, but it had him in a near state of panic whenever he went out of the house to do any sort of shopping, or take the dog out, go for arun. It was all horrible for the ashen blond. As of late he'd taken to ordering dog food, and his own groceries, for delivery at his door step. He was not leaving for any damn reason. He remembered horrid, huge, spiders that had caused such a panic attack.

He was certain there were massive spiders lurking somewhere...but where he did not know. He'd locked all the windows in the house, he'd even shrink wraped them with plastic coverings, he was not risking any spiders getting into his home. He'd already spotted a few small ones, and had promptly had a panic attack that had several people getting him to a go health center out of worry for him. He'd been sent to the hospital from there, since he'd passed out, and had woken in the ER with his cousin and a few other family members.

He knew his panic attacks were bad, they always had been, his whole damn family knew they were bad so they weren't shocked when this had happened, they seemed to be expecting it in all honesty. His mother had combed his hair form his face with her fingers, while an uncle of his had tried to joke about it. A younger cousin had mentioned how she didn't like spiders eithers, a cute little six year old with her bloond hair in pigtails.

Once he'd gotten home he'd srpayed around his doors, and the windows, to make sure any bugs which got in would die. He would not allow any spiders into his home, especially after hearing someone else in the ER talking about being bitten by one of the little things. No thank you! He might have to power up and track the damn source of them dow nand burn them all down if he had to deal with being bitten.

Now he was waiting for his grocery delivery, candles flickering about the house, as the sun set and the darkness creeped in. He'd placed a bit of a late order from one of the online apps, he'd just discovered he was out of several things he needed for dinner. He really didn't like this fall, and considering the past ones this said a lot, he also hated it even more when his cousin was out and he was alone with Katya and Cadha. Katya was good company, whenever she got her nose out of a book, but he didn't like opening the door to pick up the groceries...what if some spider, or several spiders, got in? For once, in a very long time, the ashen blond was a mess.

He'd been at the house by the time Alex got home. He'd avoided the hospital, Alex had had enough people in there poking and prodding at him, one less person was probably for the better. And any chance to avoid a hospital, was always a win in Mason's book.

Mason had let the smaller man buzz around the house without protest, doing his best to stay out of Alex's way till he'd all but collapsed on the couch. Gently he leaned over the back of the couch, and collected the blondes hair, clipping it up and out of the way. He did have to swat away an offending hand that came to tug at strands. "Leave it." He muttered softly, you're going to get pissy later if you keep messing with your hair." Mason pulled gently on the back of Alex's shirt, prompting him to lay back and relax for a minute. "You could have just sent me to get groceries instead of having them delivered you know." He at least knew what to look for there.

"Hey." The taller blonde said, still trying to get Alex's attention. "What can I do?"

It felt like he was on an adrenalin rush, a buzz with energy, but he kept looking around as if some eight legged monster might just jump out of no where and attack him. The things were small though...so he might not see them...so he was trying to be on alert. But at some point he couldn't keep it going and he crashed - right into the couch.

Allowing Mason, when had he arrived anyway, do as he pleased as he let his hair be fussed with and his hand swatted out of the others way - and away from his own hair.

Trying to breath, and to calm himself, he took the time to finally look up and over his shoulder at the other. "Find them all and kill them with fire?" Came the suggestion, as impossible as he knew it was. "I just...I didn't want to bother you and risk you getting bitten or something. I thought I could have groceries delivered and it would all be good." But he hadn't gotten so lucky. Shivering, noting that he was chilly, the blond looked about before reaching up to the other blond. "Blanket, something warm, and a movie...and you." Comfort was the best thing right now and he knew it...that and a warm blanket and a warm body to curl up in - since he could easily sit right in Mason's lap. "I used to love this time of year..." But not after those big spiders and now this - little ones. The fall was turning into a nightmare for him. Winter, as pretty as it was, was too damn cold for him.

He'd heard it during school, from female classmates, about wishing they were as petite and slim as he was - despite him being male and other males teasing him. Those girls might have wanted his small figure but it had it's down sides...like very little bodyfat so he got cold very easily. Also, he ate a lot of small meals because he was hungry often. He just managed how much he ate each time. But winter was never his friend because he couldn't manage to keep warm.

"I don't like this." More shivering and he looked around for something warm, one of the throw blankets he kept in the living room.

Mason huffed slightly as Alex finally sat back, bending over the back of the couch to place a kiss on the top of the smaller man's head. "Unfortunately, my magic doesn't involve fire. I don't entirely think setting the whole city on fire is going to solve this either..."

The taller blond snorted softly, pulling a hoodie sleeve up and waving his arm dismissively. "I'm not worried about a spider bite. I think I've been through worse." They both knew he had been, but Mason understood Alex's distress. He nodded lightly, letting Alex tug at him. "I'm not going anywhere." Mason was fairly sure Alex wouldn't leave for the night anyway, new spider overlords or not. Gently, he detangled himself from Alex, Mason tried to ease the other into laying down for a bit before disappearing from the room.

He returned a short white later with a rather large blanket, and one of his hoodies, that he had tossed in the dryer to heat up for a few minutes. "When the hell did you go out and buy a ten foot blanket?" Mason muttered, passing the hoodie to Alex. He waited a moment before prodding Alex to lay down again, this time laying on top of the smaller man. "What movie did you pick?" He asked, haphazardly tossing the comically large blanket over the two of them.

"It would be warm and pleasing to watch though." It would also end the war, or at least do sever damage to the other side. "I like your magic just the way it is." He did, he liked a lot about Mason actually. Though he would amdit he liked fire, and other sources of warmth, a lot.

"Good, I don't want you to leave - you don't have permission." As if he'd give such an order, well maybe with some pouting to go with it. He wasn't about to seriously order Mason to stay, even if he wanted him to. "Mmm, you can be my hero whenever spiders around then. I think I need one." Someone to kill them, maybe with fire, so he didn't need to panic and pass out again. Watching as Mason moved, to go do something in another room, he sighed and went to grab the tv remote so he could turn on netflix.

Mmmm, something supernatural sounded good to him. With Mason returning, carrying something new he'd bought, he puffed up his cheeks and pouted at the other. "I found someone selling them on etsy - they hand make them to order." It was heavy and large and woven...and it was warm. "I like to wrap myself up - ten feet gives a lot of extra blanket for bundling." So he could wrap himself up like a buritto and cover most of his head so just part of his face peeked out. It was perfect for such things. Hugging the hoddie to himself he let out a surprised omph as Mason laid on top of him, but than went and wraped his arms right about the taller blond. "Mmm, this is nice." Snuggling in he turned his head towards the tv.

"i went with a tv series, I thought binge watching it wouldn't be bad." Shrugging a bit from under the other. "You don't mind, right? I thought supernatural would be nice...something fantasy and supernnatrual." Like their lives weren't magical enough already.

"That includes your place...." Mason reminded him flatly. "Are you really about to set your house on fire cause of a bug?" Scratch that. He didn't want to know.

The blonde snorted. "Permission my a**. Good luck stopping me." Alex might know where his apartment was, but that didn't mean the smaller man knew where all his hiding spots were. Mason had disappeared once, he could do it again if he wanted to. Mason rolled his eyes, shifting just a little bit to get comfortable. "A hero is the last thing I want to be." Far more attention then he ever wanted. He made a soft, irritated noise, hiding his face away for a moment.

"Oh my gooood. I'm hiding your ******** credit cards.." Mason groaned. "Up on the highest shelf and I'm breaking all the step ladders in here so you can't reach them." Though, he had to admit. It was a nice blanket. "You're ridiculous..." He could picture Alex bundling up like a little burrito. "Lucky Jay's been a no show lately. You'd never live that one down..." Mason made another noise, a pleased one this time, as Alex snuggled against him. "Suppose to put the hoodie on, dipshit. I put it in the dryer for a reason."

Mason didn't care what they watched. In all honesty, there was a good chance he would probably fall asleep during it anyway. "Put on whatever you want. Though I swear, if you put on some stupid s**t like 'Teen Wolf' or 'Vampire Diaries...'

"You only have to be my hero, I don't share well anyway." Especially not when he'd be sharing his spider killer with others, Mason was his killer of spiders. Laughing, softly, at the others responce to why he'd gotten the blanket and where from Alex couldn't help it - he pouted. "No hiding my cards....I don't use them as much as I used to." He'd gotten used to it a long while back. But how could he not? he was always cold and blankets, and other warm things, were a need when this time of year rolled around.

"You know I don't use the step ladder I have." Not unless he had to, he tended to climb the counter top in his kitchen. It was very unbecoming of him, and most people, and it completely lacked manners not to mention it wasn't exactly a clean thing to go doing. But it was easier than scooting a step ladder about his kitchen. He just hoped up and got what he needed and climbed back down....or he'd just sit on the counter top to eat or drink whatever he'd gotten himself. He would never do such things in front of guests though!

"I know, but do you expect anything else from me when it comes to me wanting to be warm?" He liked being warm, almos to the overheating point, but he did take into account when others didn't like that sort of heat. If he was on his own however, as he'd been too often lately, he went for neatly overheating himself. It was just so smothering and nice....it was comfortable.

"I was going to just snuggle with it...but I do have you..." Shiufting and wriggling about so he could sit up, sort of, he managed to strip off his own shirt and pull the others much too large hoodie on. Laying back down, though it was more like flopping, he pulled the other back close to himself. "Teen wolf...I've never heard of that. The second one I heard of but I'm clueless about." Shrugging he hit the play button for what he had picked out though, it was sort of random honestly.

"So, how long can I get you to stay?" Maybe a few days and nights so he could get in all the warm cuddles, movie nights, and he wouldn't have to worry so much about the spiders and the paranoia which was setting in.Though maybe he shouldn't try and hide from the paranoia...it might be a good thing.

"Mmph.." Mason sighed, ignoring Alex calling him a hearo again. "Oh no. I'm hiding them. Especially with the holidays coming up. You're not going crazy."

"You could always be normal and take a hot shower, or turn the heat up. Hell, you have a ******** fireplace. Why didn't you turn that on?" Instead, Alex bought a massive blanket. Really, he shouldn't be surprised at this point.... But here he was.

Again Mason snorted as Alex traded his shirt for the hoodie, momentarily distracted by the black ink plastered on his side. "...And the point of ditching the shirt was... what?" He asked, letting Alex pull and tug at him. "Oh my god don't. I had an coworker that was obsessed with them. Would not shut up about it. If you put either of those on I will be going to sleep, ******** you."

The taller man shrugged. "Anubis is already here, so I don't have to run for that..." Seriously, Alex had practically stolen his dog. Though stolen might be the wrong word. Anubis listened better to Alex, then he did his owner.

Dumb dog.

"Probably a couple days or so. I think everything was shut off at the apartment. anything else would be on timers so I don't have to worry about those too much." Besides that, the little old land lord would call him if anything seemed amiss.

"I still need to get you something though." He wasn't sure what though, he really didn't know. He knew it would be something far more simple than anything he'd get himself, Mason did not have anywhere near the same spending habits or taste that he did. But Alex understood and accepted it, he was glad to see someone who wasn't the same as he was.

"Because it's yours and I'd rather it closer to myself...and my shirt was in the way.," Clearly his shirt was in the way. Why did Mason even need to ask, he should know Alex by now and how he thought and did things- and why.

"I'd rather Anne Rice's vampires...they dressed well and were better spoken. Monsters who were polite and cultured. Though the second movie was terrible, at least when compared to the books." Which he'd read after seeing the movies, as he'd wanted to compare the two. He always heard books were better than movies. It was true, at least in every case he knew. "I figured you'd be threatening to leave me if I put on Twilight." But Alexandre had heard the horror stories of that, and about what an abusive relationship was the 'true love' couple in the movies. It was disgusting...and they glittered he'd heard. He had a little cousin who had loved the movies, and books, while an older cousin had ripped into the whole thing. He'd heard both sides of it one night at a family dinner, for the holidays.

"Anubis seems to like making my home into his home. I find it amusing, though I'm glad he doesn't have an iossue with Cadha or Katya." Though Cadha was getting a bit old at this point.

"Good, so maybe we'll be able to wait out the whole spider thing here...and by the time you and Anubis need to leave, it'll all be done and over with." At least he could hope for that. Wiggling his toes he buried his face into the curve of the others neck, where it met his shoulder, and gently pressed kisses there. "Were you worried when you found out I was in the hospital?" He hadn't meant to worry anyone, his parents and cousin included. But he didn't exactly have a choice either.
