She was always shy and had a difficult time making friends with people who weren't her brother so when he was gone, she had to rely on herself to make friends. This was something that she didn't have practise with and most people at school found her too weird so excluding a few people, Haru never had an easy time talking to others.

When it comes to something that she's passionate about, whether it's an argument or a competition, Haru does her utmost to succeed and win, almost aggressively so. She can also be temperamental and does not know how to back down from a fight, even when she should.

Haru isn't good with people, so she figured that if she can't be good at that, she could be good at other things. Even if she doesn't care for it, she tries to do as best as possible and can be a perfectionist.

Haru has been disappointed far too often to expect the best outcome to things. If things go the way she planned or hoped, that would be a nice surprise but if she wasn't expecting them to then she wouldn't as disappointed, right? CHILDHOOD:
For a long time Haru thought she had the normal family life. She had a big brother, Junpei, who she loved and they played together all the time. She had parents, Minoru and Chiyo, who she loved even though she didn't like how much they argued or how mean they were to each other (and to her sometimes). Then one day, her mother said she was useless and took her brother and Haru never saw them again, leaving her with her father alone. Without the arguments, the home was much quieter, but it was also lonelier and Haru wasn't good at making friends without her brother so even though her dad tried his best, Haru still hated it.
Eventually, Minoru met Maram Salama through work and grew close enough to start dating. Haru wasn't sure how to feel about it, but did warm up to Maram over time. It helped that Maram was much nicer than her mum was, and she had a son, Ghassan, who she brought over and was just as nice to, so Haru could tell it wasn't just an act. Ghassan himself was curious and eager and since he was younger than Haru, she decided that she could be his big sister and be as nice as to him as Junpei was to her. She almost didn't want to go to Hogwarts when she became 11 because while she hated her old school, at least she got to go home every day. But Hogwarts ended up being fun and while she missed her family, she stayed in touch.
