The Pumpkin Thief (8 ): Every now and then, a few pumpkins will disappear from a local pumpkin patch. It’s probably just some teenagers playing pranks, or some wild animals, or–oh, this is Destiny City. Of course there are rumors that it might actually be some furry, moss covered behemoth from the forest. And, there’s credence to that rumor, because maybe you’ve seen it, too. It’s a strange creature that keeps its distance. It almost looks like it might be a skinny, malformed bear but there’s something just off about it. Sometimes, it just steals pumpkins and you find their carcasses strewn about not far off. Sometimes, it throws the pumpkins–at people, at places. Sometimes, it carves out a hideous face and wears the pumpkin like a mask. It cannot be caught, and it will always run off into the wood if engaged. Sometimes, you can hear a strange, ghoulish bellow as it disappears into the forest.

Leaena came back from patrolling to find another jack-o'-lantern missing from her porch. She sighed. Her parents had given her 5 days to discover the culprit, or they would assume she was the one pulling the 'prank' and she would be grounded, and she would have to do chores around the house to pay her parents for the money they had lost in buying pumpkins. She sighed - this was day 5 and she hadn't had any luck. She had only a few moments left before she would be read the riot act...and then she heard something - was that the sound of something large chowing down?

She carefully (so as not to alarm her parents, went around to side of the house, where her mother's small garden was.

What she saw there put her in shock - there was some kind of large creature.... like a skinny bear or something mauling away at the garden. She had never seen a creature like this before.

Out loud, she said, "Well it does not seem to have a Youma signature... so what do I do?" Her eyes were wide, and her mouth hung open.

Leaena felt strength crept into her Senshi body, and she quietly looked for the source of that beautiful harp music. but could not find it. The Creature was started to look up and around- and would soon see her and probably attack her if she didn't chase it away soon.

She does the same as 'Cheetah Cub' except she calls out "Cheetah Friends". Energy Cheetah Cubs fly out to attack. Range: 6-7 ft. Minor Damage from scratches. Lasts maximum of 15 seconds if doesn't target. 2 uses.

The Creature howled and scrambled away into the woods nearby - so quickly, there was no tracing it.

Leaena now sensed an Order Aura in the area, though not Senshi - maybe Knight - she did not know many Knights.. Surely, they were the one who had helped her, however, it seemed they did not wish to identify themself. However, she had been raised to honor those helped her, and so she said out loud for them to hear; "Thank you, whoever you are."

Then she took a saddened look at her mother's garden - how would she fix this - hmm, perhaps, her friends at Brox's Gardening would help. She then began taking note of what she would need.

As she did, she wondered, if she would ever know who saved her.

Leaena turned to him and smiled broadly. "Greetings, Squire Sumner and thank you. I'm Chibi Super Sailor Leaena of Cheetahs."

She turned back to the garden. "The problem is that thing has been stealing and mangling our pumpkins. My parents evidently think that I was doing it- and told me that I had 5 days (till today) to find and prove who was doing it, or I'd have to do chores to pay them back for all the money they've lost on pumpkins for Jack-O-Lantern's. I can do the chores - but what do I tell them now? Mom's garden has been destroyed - that she has worked so hard on - and... it helps soothe her emotions. There was a time ... when my older sister was missing for years... my older brother, her twin ... literally lost his mind acting out, and I was sent to live with an aunt, until everything was figured out... Mom...." Leaena nearly broke down and cried here. "They taught her gardening, and it brought her back and kept her afloat..."

Leaena sighed. "There is a store, that I have friends that work at that would what I need to replace the damage, but I don't have the money, and I can't ask them to tell their boss that a supernatural creature tore it to pieces and then ran off. And I can't ask their boss to give a 13-year-old a job to pay for items and not tell her what happen."

She gestured helplessly at the ruined garden. Then she shook herself. "Sorry for rambling."

Leaena brightened. "Thank you for the ideas, you needn't help any further, but I think those ideas will help, and my friends' foster mother who owns the shop, may willing to work something out with me - she's always giving kids a chance, if they are willing to be responsible - I may not be able to get a full-on job at 13, but I'm sure she'll find something. Thank you."
