The Gameboard
Destiny City is a large place, with a large population. It’s not uncommon to find a lost item here or there. Maybe a keychain, an earring, a book.
But, a six sided die? That’s different.
While traveling through Destiny City, you find a strange little object. It looks like old, stained wood, but something shiny in it catches your eye. How could you resist picking it up? It looks like a normal die in terms of shape, and each side has a gilded number, one through six, carved into it. The most interesting part of it all is that the dice seems to be made of old, stained wood with fossilized opal throughout the whole piece. Something about it called to you, and while you are investigating it, a harsh wind slams into you. Darkness falls all around you–and then, slowly, a path illuminates. It’s black all around you; there’s no light, but you can see clearly marked spaces.
A line of squares unwind in front of you, each clearly marked.
You can’t see anything around you, can’t feel anything else–just the gameboard.
You don’t recognize the game, but you don’t really need instructions to know how to play–you have a die, and you have a path. In the distance, you can barely make out a dark wooden platform at the end of the path, but it seems to have the same fossilized opal inlay as the die–and pretty golden symbols along the rim.
You can’t step out of your square. Trying to leave the gameboard results in you walking to an invisible barrier and it feels like slamming into a glass wall. You cannot leave your space–unless the die says you can. If you want to get out of here, you’re going to have to roll your way there–but it isn’t so easy.
Strange gold markings differ from one square to the next. There’s no telling what they mean–you’re going to have to land on them to find out.
Though, judging by the tension in the air, it’s probably not going to be anything good.

Space 0
You have arrived here; nothing happens until you roll your die.

Koeia wandered the human city with Selinur, she was happy to be able to spend time with her fellow ancient senshi and it gave her an opportunity to learn more about this place, plus the chance to watch for the evil known as Chaos. As the pair were walking along she spotted a glimer out the corner of her eyes. A pair of old dice had been left on the ground. They looked old and withered but something in them sparkled.

"Would you look at that. Old yet still with a sparkle of light, rather like ourselves I suppose." She laughed. She moved to pick up the discarded dice. As she did a harsh wind slammed into her. Everything around the pair went dark. The Senshi of Miracles looked around it was all darkness save for a path of illuminated squares.

She touched the area around her and felt a barrier. "We seem to be in a pocket dimension of some variety." She announced to her friend and companion. Then a realization hit her. "This is a game board. Like a children's game board. Oh what fun I have seen one of these in eons! I wonder what the rules are? I'm surprised the humans have sub dimensional games like this." She looked at the dice and squares. She handed one of the dice to Selinur. "I think we have to play this game to get back to the human world." With that she tossed her dice.

He still wasn't the fondest of this planet, ttthis planet limited his own senses far too much, but his dislike could be dampened with Koeia around to talk with. He never, in the past, would have spoken to her or even met her but here on Earth things were different. Perhaps it was a good thing that they'd wound up here. As they walked, and spoke, he kept his voice low and to a near whisper. He didn't like the idea of anyone or anything poetentially hearing them. He'd been filling her in on others of their kind who he'd run into, it seemed this planet was blessed with so many powered people.

He was about to mention the merchant, who he'd made a pass at, when she spotted the old dice. Following after her he knelt down slowly and reached for Koeia's arm, grasping her just as she took hold of the dice and vanished.

Unlike his friend who landed well he did not, he landed on his butt. "This city really is interesting...and dangerous." He would be writting about this, like everything elsee which happened in this city. Taking the offered dice he held it up to inspect. "I've never played such a game...we do not have such games on Selinur." That wasn't to say they didn't have games, they did for certain, but not this sort of game. They had ones which sharpened their observatgion skills as well as turned them into good liars, you never knew when you might need to lie your way out of trouble witgh a forigner. "I don't think they have sub dimensional games...I think this is magic out of control in the city." He stated while he watched her toss her dice. Following suit he tossed his own dice to see what he rolled.

"This planet, or at least this city, has unstable magic I believe." Or too much magic? Perhaps that's why it was unstable.

Space 1
You feel eyes upon you, and hear a faint chuckling, like you’re the butt of someone’s joke. It sets a bad mood for the rest of this game; you’re already being judged–and, it looks like a long road ahead.

"Such games of chance were popular on Koeia. They had a saying "To the victor goes the miracle." It was considered good fortune to win a game of dice or cards." She elaborated on her people's customs.

As she moved one space per the dice she could feel the unmistakable glare from eyes watching her. She could also hear faint chuckling clearly at her and Selinur's expense. "Perhaps it isn't a human child's game but whoever's game it is clearly rather childish." She mumbled in annoyance.

"It seems we are to be focus of some beings merriment!" She informed her ally as she watched him move his spaces. "We should try to win this game as soon as possible." With that she tossed her die.

That was an interesting bit of information, something he'd file away, it might seem useless but for Selinuur every bit learned was worth something. Who knows what might be needed in the future, as far as knowledge went, anything could happen after all. "We have no such games on Selinur. We tell stories." They also had games on who could tell the best lie, the most believable lie, with the least amount of people figuring out the lie. It was a game of truth and lie and how to make something as believable as possible. It was training for them but also a game...it also made them great storytellers, with an ability to be very dramatic in retellings of things. It was a shame perhaps that those visiting Selinur never got to hear the stories they told each other.

As he finished walking to his square he was sure a dog was there - right behind him. He could hear the barking and growling, especially the growling, and it certainly sounded like it was large - very large.

"I don't know..this is starting to seem dangerous."

Space 4
Something smells rotten. You can’t see very far into the darkness, but if you squint closely a dark form seems to be dragging itself along the ground. Sometimes you see a pale hand almost close enough to grab you–or, maybe something does grab you. It’s cold, and frightening, and it’s trying to drag you out of bounds.

Koeia moved the number of squares she had rolled when a foul stench reached her nose. She knew all too well the smell of rot and decay. She looked around and spotted a being in the distant dark barely visible that seemed to be dragging itself along the ground.

The sight disturbed and the pale hand saw suddenly out of her peripheral close enough to grab her made her jump back in a fighting stance. "I agree we need to win this game as soon as possible and get out of this dimension." At least she hoped her theory was right and that winning would release them, if not....well she would have to think about that then. She threw her die and skirted her way around the hand.

"Yes, while I don't mind games...this one is not to my fancy." He stated, wrinkling his nose in clear distaste for this game, as it were. He didn't see where, nor how, this was a game of any sort. It seemed like something far more malicous, though it hadn't outright attacked either of them yet. "I keep getting the feeling something is about to attack me..." And he really wished his senses were as they should be, so he could feel a bit safer in this situation. If something did come for him he'd certainly hear it ahead of time.

"It sounds like a dog, or something similar, is behind me ready to attack."

Rolling his own dice, again, he hoped for something else...though maybe he shouldn't wish for that. He just wanted this game to end.

Space 6
You hear a shrill, humming noise; it sounds almost like something is firing past you–and sometimes, you even feel a sharp burst of air, like something has just missed you. Maybe, even, it does get a slice out of you. Sharp, bladelike threads seem to string up around you; you’d best be careful not to get cut on any of them between now and your next dice roll.

Koeia reached her space and she heard a noise. It was the sound of something slicing through air she knew the sound well, it was common on the field of battle. She felt a rush of air go by her like an invisible projectile had just passed her. She felt a slight sting on her face as she move to hold her cheek she saw blood on her hand. Whatever had just passed her had sliced open her cheek far from a fatal wound but it was still concerning. This was absolutely no children's game and clearly whatever force was running the demented board game was dangerous.

"Stay alert this game is definitely dangerous, something just drew blood. I couldn't see it but I felt it fly past me!" She yelled in warning as she threw her die. There was no telling how much more dangerous things would get from here on out.
