Strays (1) : Destiny City News reports several sightings of ‘feral dogs' appearing throughout the city. Those interviewed claim that the dogs would surround them and chase them down the streets, seemingly popping in and out of sight until the person finally found themselves in a well lit area. You have the misfortune of running into these same dogs.

They cling to the shadows as you go about your way at night. Seemingly at the corner of your vision, one flickers by, and you turn and see nothing. Again and again it happens. They are trying to drive you into the darkest corners of the city, herding you away from the light. In the nearby distance are the lights of the city: streetlights, signs, traffic. You have to do something to get there, to escape these creatures. When you make it to any significant light source, you hear a low growl, a wailing hiss; the dogs have vanished.

For now.

Leaena was sitting in the park taking her six o'clock break from patrolling to do homework and eat some donut (they were a treat from Etamin and Pasithee for keeping with school, training and the life of a Senshi - little things like this - they made this life worthwhile - no, not the donuts, but the gesture that her siblings had made that meant they recognized that she was working hard and that they knew that the life of a Senshi was difficult.

Just as she took her first bite into the first donut - it came - a growl in the night. Then a snarl. A whine. That was no dog. Leaena thought - her senses alert. "Hmm," she mumbled, standing up. "I don't sense any Chaos Auras either."

The park lamp above her sputtered and went out. "Oh dear." She said quietly, her eyes now wide with fear; she now knew what this was, if only Etamin was here, this was his Expertise. A feralish dog, seeming made from shadow launched itself at her and she leapt out of the way with a cry. It chowed down on her donuts. She did not realize it, but she had scratched her arm in the process. She got up and ran for her life - (this was not the sort of thing that her powers could fight. They followed in the shadows, nipping and growling.

She cried again as she ran straight into someone without looking where she was going.

Leaena realized that she had bumped into a Senshi. "I'm sorry. The dogs!"

At that moment, there was a snarl, and a dog leapt from shadow to shadow. They were getting closer, and there seemed to be a whole pack of them.

They were whining and snarling, and growling. There was also snaping, but they seemed to hiss at the light.

"They don't seem to be youma. I'm not exactly sure what to do."

There was a flash to their left. "No, and they don't seem to be Youma either. I don't sense anything from - hey wait a moment. It's October, isn't it?" Leaena had a flash of memory from a previous October - and she didn't wait for an answer. "Come on!" Leaena shouted urgently, as she rushed off. "We have to find good source of light!"

She then explained as she ran, "This happened to me once before, during the Halloween Season. The Seasonal Magic seems to mix with the Magic of the Powered Beings - and produces interesting results like these: Shadow Dogs - as my brother calls them. The only way to get away is to douse them with light!"

It was Leaena's turn to shrug. "That's Destiny City for you." She returned.

She looked up ahead and saw a Downtown Square, lit up with lights and people.
"Look! That might do it!" She pointed hopefully ahead.

Just a little more! Just a little more! Even the Senshi of Cheetahs was breathing hard at this point.

Then suddenly they burst into light and the dogs were gone and they stepped out on a modeling stage?!??!

"And here we have...A young girl in a Cheetah Fashion..." the woman's voice was confused. "Very ah daring for her age but works well especially in time for Halloween. And un with her, a beautiful young lady in what I'm going to call the Iceberg Style - it's really going to devastate the hearts of young men this year."

Leaena was in shock, then pulled herself together, shrugged and whispered to the older girl, "When in Rome..." then started Modeling as best she could.

Later, the people tried to chew them, and Leaena apologized and told them the truth, that they attacked by the Halloween of Destiny City - some of the crew, not being of Destiny City were not too keen on believing them - but the Director had been in Destiny City before, during the Holidays and that was that - no harm done, and he was glad that they were alright.

After that, Leaena finally, properly introduced herself to the older Senshi. "By the way, I'm Chibi Super Sailor Leaena of Cheetahs. Sorry about leading those things to you."

"I would love to stay longer, but I have to get home for dinner. It was great meeting you- and hmm I'm not sure, but I don't think that I've met you before, but many in my family are magical, so that might it." Leaena smiled and waved goodbye.
