I've made my first appointment for a psychiatrist to find out if I really have ADHD. A teacher in high school had me fill out a questionnaire and though I didn't trust its validity, the results were that I do, so I was prescribed a medicine that I stopped taking because my feet were notably cold on it. But my life seems to be heavily impacted by what TikTok and YouTube creators have describes as "neurodiverse" and ADHD behaviors. At one point, I spent two days in bed avoiding eating because I was avoiding cooking because I was avoiding cleaning the dishes. I was so weak, but I stayed huddled in bed building a virtual orphanage in a video game.
Has anyone been to a psychiatrist? Do you know if they seek to help you without medication? Should I stop seeing my psychologist because I start seeing a psychiatrist? I've got a month to chicken out. eek
