The ground around the body, and a set of slippered feet, was frost covered while the air around the standing figure was chilly. Smiling as he stepped over the downed body, energy pearl tucked away, Miyamoto was doing well tonight with grabbing energy. It wasn't all that hard to grab energy from the bar scene downtown - everyone was drunk at this hour. Everyone who came out of a bar was drunk and stumbling and they were easy targets, which made for an easy night.

He had more than enough, he'd done really well tonight, but he wasn't done yet. He knew all the bodies he was leaving about would lead to something...but he doubted he'd get caught. Even if cops, or someone similar, turned up he could teleport out of the area. He wasn't concerned with knights or senshi turning up - he could hold his own. He might not be eternal buut he was confident in himself. Stepping out of the alleyway he headed off to find someone else to grab energy from.

Roka was being more cautious than they might, reasonably, like to be, but as they were frequently reminded by their living situation: they weren't at the heights of power they'd been, once, and separated from all those years of constant tension their body had chosen to make it known that it was.... unhappy, with some of what they'd done.

They were making slow progress on it. Not much, but some. Some of that came with limiting their excursions as Roka, and some of that came with not initiating conversions as boldly as they once might have.

It was temporary. Once they were somewhat recovered, they could cease this farce. But for now they were only powering up in blindspots, areas where nobody might see the shift, and taking their time with it.

This one, up ahead -- he was like Pavo. Their silhouettes were different, but the extraordinarily long hair was the same, as was the darkened uniform. Roka tapped one heel against the ground, enough pressure in it to make him aware that he wasn't alone -- and what he might do with that was up to him, but if he didn't engage they had a few different scenarios that came to mind to try.

As he was walking, trailing frost along the ground where his hair trailed and his feet stepped, he could feel someone. They felt very much like order and that annoyed him, though he was also perplexed. Why had they not shouted at him or rushed him and tried to attack him in some way. Most of orders senshi or knights were just thatg stupid, especially since they all assumed he was off doing no good. That wasn't to say they were wrong, especially tonight, but they did like to jump to ideas.

Instead of waiting to see what would happen he turned, heading towards that persistent aura. "Make that noise again and I'll make sure the only noises you make are gasps for air." Right before he killed them. He really had a dislike for order, especially senshi, and as he approached he was already getting himself set up to lash out and strike the poor senshi.

"Either way though I'll kill you."

As I said, he hates order and is prone to being violent.

”Touchy, aren’t you,” Roka said, phrased like a question but not quite given like one, remembering just in time to inject some expression into their raspy voice, “is that how you treat all your friends?” They looked him up and down, no clear change in expression at what they saw there; their face still laid out in a way that could’ve been either faintly annoyed or faintly smug depending on what angle the light caught their mouth at, streetlights filtering through their seaglass crown to leave a faintly green cast to their skin and hair.

His magic was stronger than theirs, but that was perfectly acceptable; they were generally coming to terms with that, such as it was. And if his active magic was offensive, well, then, that would be a delight in and of itself.

Roka brought one of their hands up to their head, tapping one nail against their crown; tink, tink, went the seaglass. If he’d thought a shift of their weight was a bothersome noise, that one might draw his attention away from the ground; if he wasn’t looking at where they were standing, what their feet might be doing, it’d make it easier. They were waiting for him to get just within range, theirs was longer than people always thought it was --

“But I only let others choke me if I’m fond of them,” they said, nonchalant, “and you’ve made an awfully poor showing so far,” and Roka lashed out with a pre-emptive kick, not even bothering to call their own magic yet, testing how fast this stranger was. (If he was fast enough with both physical movement and reaction speed to counter or to dodge, that was one thing. If he took the blow - because they were fast, they’d always been fast even without magic pushing them faster and stronger -- they didn't need to tip anything else of their own hand.)

"Friends? And why would I be treating you like a friend?" Why indeed, this was just some order serving senshi after all. Though their skin did seem abit...green? Interesting. Myamoto kept his eyes on the other, watching and not trusting, he was sure they'd make an attempt to attack him but would they make the first move? They might, though they didn't seem the aggressive sort - unlike himself.

Raising a brow at the others kinky comment he shook his head, certainly not his type. They were not someone he'd be interested in. The other was fast, really fast, but he jumped back as quick as he could. He slipped a bit in his landing, an ankle giving for a moment and sending him stumbling on his landing, but he regained himself. "It seems I'm not the only one with poor manners here." Mocking the other as he made a tsking sound.

"I didn't think you were going to make the first move...a surprise to be sure." But not one he'd make again, not here with this senshi, as he picked himself up from where he'd sumbled back with the force of the others kick. He'd be bruised, his ribs hurt from the force of the kick, and he knew breathing would not be kind to him for the next few days.

Moving in close, he knew it was a risk, he could be open to attack as well. Moving hurt because breathing hrut but he was going to win, he would not lose to some meager senshi. The sweeping bow like move he made was the only warning to what he did next. "Winters loneliness." His own magic unleased on the poor soul, not that he cared, he knew they could take advantage of his posistion and hit him, good and hard, before his magic took hold of them. But it was a risk he was willing to take, he had to be. Breathing hard as he made to strighen himself he held close to his ribs.

Daekie
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Winters loneliness
Similar to the first in that Miyamoto makes a sweeping gesture only this time there is a cold bite to the air around those affected by his magic. This coldness goes along with the lonely feeling and seems to make the person(s) feel even more alone and in need of something warm...be it a blanket or a person. Just something to not feel like this. This will last for twenty five seconds and has a five foot range. Can be used twice in battle.

"It's only being polite, is it not?" Roka countered, knowing full well that before everything had happened they'd never been polite a day in their thrice-damned life (and, as such, were the last person who ought to be saying as such), but he didn't know, so they could say whatever they pleased. "Might've had information to offer you."

That wasn't so much a lie as it might have been. They did want to form some sort of alliance with the Negaverse, but finding someone who would make it worth their while and who was of a reliable enough temperament to not forcibly recruit them was difficult; if they went out recklessly swanning about, looking for any powerful Chaotic auras, they'd be dead quick.

They trembled a little when his magic set in, shoulders dropping and eyes going wide, and for a second it was -- overwhelming. They were so cold, and there was nobody here, nobody, they were still alone, they'd been alone, they hadn't stopped -- but that memory, that reminder, dulled its bite.

Lonely? They'd been lonely for hundreds of years. It couldn't hurt them anymore; they'd made themself into something it couldn't hurt. They had felt like this for so long, so bitterly, that a month of warmth couldn't chase all the memory of the chill from their bones.

They looked at him, bright-eyed, and smiled. It was, as things went, a fairly good and convincing smile.

"Was that it?"

Sleet Tempest Snape
unfortunately, the guy who's been stuck on a sunless drowned world for a thousand years with 900+ of those being totally alone is not a great target when it comes to 'people who can be incapacitated by weaponized loneliness' sad
they DO think it's funny enough to not keep hitting him, though...?

Was that it? What in the hell. This senshi just smiled at him and acted as though his magic had done nothing - and perhaps it had done nothing. He'd never seen such a thing before and it had him shocked. "How are you smiling?" He questioned, honestly wondering. If this one could overcome his magic than so could someone else, so he needed to know. He'd need to look for similarties between this person and someone else...so he knew when his magic wouldn't work, and thus not use it needlessly.

"And what do you mean information for me? I don't even know who you are much less what you could offer me. You are a senshi...not one who serves chaos so why would you offer me anything." Assuming the information could help him, of course, and help chaos further it's goals. Why would a senshi offer anything which might help the enemy.

"Explain yourself." Ok, so maybe he wouldn't be killing this one...at least not just yet. This one seemed interesting....

"Given how unkind you've been," Roka said, almost irritated (or playing at being such, anyway), "why ought I tell you anything? I only serve myself. My allies are dead." Dead, or gone, and it didn't matter either way. Those people had cut their losses, such as it were.

They didn't move away, yet, instead choosing to cross their arms over their stomach, hands clasped on their wrists.

If they had been younger, weaker, it might very well have sent them reeling; they were intelligent enough to understand that. And with people here, on Earth? They tended weak and warm, Roka had noticed; the type who would fall to magic such as that easily. His poor luck he'd found someone like them instead. But it had a bite to it, still, so certainly he wasn't entirely worthless.

"And I've a reason to be kind to you? What makes you different from every other senshi?" He questioned the other. This one was a senshi, like every other senshi, so what was different. "All I see are the same white uniforms and the same senshi...all thinking they are fighting the good fight and doing the right thing. Cats who bring people into a war, whether they want to join or not, and taking their choice away. The other side just fights for themselves - no unity and no goal in mind. TThey only thing which unifies them if fighting us...but what would they do if they won? Fall apart? Bicker amongst each other over what to do next? Who will take over? They offer nothing and should return to such" They were, in his opinion, the real danger. He also had a chip on his shoulder against that cat who had brought him in without offering a choice, without telling him everything first.

"Why aren't you doing like most senshi who serve order? Most would have attacked me by now." That or perhaps try and talk him away from his side in the war or insult him like children.

"Not my damned war." That came out throaty, reverberating through their body and voice in a way that made it weighty, heavy with intent; something in Roka's posture shifted, less casual than they'd been, more tensed like a coiled spring. It wasn't their war; anything and anyone they had fought for was a thousand years dead and gone. They didn't care anymore, not like that; like a million other things, that had cracked and shattered and died in them over all that time.

And being generalized -- with children who had fought for only a few years, who thought this was everything in all the worlds, who knew nothing at all --

"Why would I care what you do?" Roka scoffed, something that sounded more like a growl. Something about his pontificating was rubbing them the wrong way, and it lit a ghost of their old temper, of some old, bitter, poisonous fury. "As if I haven't done worse." Fighting down here was -- comparatively, it was child's play, when it came to mess. It was to be expected: this was children training children, when it came to fighting, when it came to killing, and something so clean and simple as removing a starseed conferred less responsibility.

Did he know blood and bile? These were grand games, but they were still games, no matter how much weight they carried. If Roka fought full out, it would be uncouth; people had said it about them all the way back then, yes, but for lesser reasons. It hadn't been becoming that they fought like a street rat. These days -- these engagements had rules, and it was magic first and foremost, a show of power instead of real, actual use of it, at least at the levels of power Roka had been dropped to. (Oh, but they missed their weapons, probably sunk to the bottom of the sea; more reliable than magic and less likely to ever fail on them. Few had ever expected a senshi in the height of their power to resort to banal weaponry -- but those were gone, and so was that power, and those wings that had fit at the small of their back. All gone.)

"Being a senshi means nothing for my allegiances, and never has. I do not serve Order; traditionally, love, I've served myself, or whoever fills my purse." Their drawl dripped poison. It carried them in its wake, that rage; before this moment they hadn't been quite aware they could still feel that way. The term of affection fit unevenly in their mouth, but maychance it would unsettle him. "All it is -- is where my power is drawn from."

They wanted to make him hurt. They were aware of that, now. Roka swallowed it down and forced it back into their marrow; going for the throat would do them no good when they'd spent this long trying to persuade him that they weren't the same as all those other white-wearing fools. No use in seeming capricious.

Oh there was fire here and he heard it, and saw it, this one didn't like being compared to the others it seemed. They were seperating from the others and why? Served himself and not order and this was getting interesting. The other senshi was clearly very upset, he might even say furious, but at being compared to the others. "You don't like the other senshi - why?"

Asking this as he stood there not using his magic this time, he had questions now for the other. This was a turn in things he wasn't expecting, and he normally wasn't the sort to deal with things verbally either. But something was here and he wanted to poke at it a bit...to figure it out. "If this isn't your war than why power up? What war is your war or is there not one?" If he wasn't involved in all of this than why come out here like this? Why make himself a target and why show what he was instead of just living his life like a normal person...or whatever he was?

"It sounds like you don't fit in with them, not at all, and you don't plan to. But then why not just live your life here and keep out of all this?" Why not just leave it all behind and fade into the background? He knew some people on both sides did that, he wasn't stupid, he knew some silently slipped away and while not traitors to their side they damn well should be. They were here, same as him, and if they didn't like their side than pick another. There were three damn options so pick the easy one and go dark mirror. If they were a knight or an officer and couldn't do that than he had other suggestions in mind for them...one she was certain some wouldn't like nor approve of.

"You've seen their sanctimonious preaching," Roka said, with acid that almost surprised them, "some things never quite change - they're convinced that we're meant to be good people and defend the populace with this power, or why else would we have it?" Senshi had been out fighting evil and protecting the galaxy a thousand years ago, and, it seemed, they were still convinced it was their inherent purpose even now.

Perhaps that was what you got with biased Mauvians, Roka supposed, and in a scenario where there was no one else to let anyone know any of their history, half-irrelevant as it was even most of the time. Most freshly-awakened senshi were easy to influence; they were most often teenagers, and teenagers were not known for having stable self-images, as a general rule.

Foolish to let him know half of what they were saying. There was no point in giving away this information for free. But it was hard to curb its tide --

"It's my power," Roka said, working on smoothing that rage out into something deep and venomous and less bitingly wild, "and only I'll decide how I use it. I'll hardly abandon my identity for peace of mind." And because this was the only chance they had to sit safely in their real skin at all; it was too dangerous to be Alexis, Rokae, unless in the most safe locations they had access to. Humans were blind. "And it's only very recently that it's become the only thing Senshi are known for." They snorted, inelegant, sharp, and shook their head. "As recently as they've started being reborn here. Children, all of you."

Did it sound more than a little ridiculous for them to call him a child, when physically they were maybe only a few years his senior? Almost certainly. But often they felt older than twenty-four -- twenty-five -- twenty-six, in the way a thousand years had carved their ugly way into Roka's bones, and they thought they were owed at least that.

"Ah, you've noticed it to...and yet you don't join them. That behavior, and awakening people without permission, without enough information. I decided to pick my side and gave up a lot to do it." And he'd do it all again if he had to. He would not conform to their side and their belief. It wasn't his sort of thing though it was more about choice for him, something he'd not had.

"Tell me, you said things never change. They were like this before then? Before they wound up reborn here. But not everyone was like that, you aren't and weren't back then." So he assumed anyway, and with good reason he figured. This other senshi did not seem anything like the ones wandering the cit y dressed in white and trying to 'save' everyone or some such nonsense.

"What else were they known for? This isn't something we're exactly informed about. I doubt either side talks about the past much or know sa lot about it." And if they did they certainly weren't admitting to anything bad and dirty, they didn't want to seem anything but perfect and just.

"We're not all children...you should see the real children they drag into this mess." Running his fingers through his long hair, he really wished it was nice and short, and running his fingers along the pointed ear he had. He really did like his pointed ears, well spent money if you asked him, because they were more elegant and petite. "You sound like you don't belong in this fight at all...a whole different side to this."

PostPosted: Sun Apr 23, 2023 10:34 pm

"Being a senshi doesn't mean anything by itself, is the thing. It never has. It only is." There was a gleam for a second in Roka's eyes as they said it, intent. It was their own damn birthright tied to their own damn soul; if anyone thought they'd choose with it better, they were cordially invited to take a long walk off a short pier.

They'd said that, once. Maybe? It sounded familiar. They knew they'd bitten people for insinuating it, but that had been so many years ago, and they had been younger, then. Barely out of adolescence. Someone else's foreign life that they had lived in.

And it was -- they didn't want children dying. In theory. It was something they had felt strongly about, once; they had hated to see chibi senshi in the fray. They'd thought most children deserved better; Alexis had been a child who had likely deserved better. Someone who cared deeply about them - who they had cared deeply for - had told them that.

That was all foreign to them now. Roka understood they had believed it, and understood they had felt terribly strongly about it; poking at those thoughts these days, they were ashes in the wind. Someone had felt those things, once. There was no connection there. Anything of that part of them that'd lived had dug its own burrow and hidden away inside their heart, cold and still. Miyamoto said the real children, and Roka didn't have any visible reaction, except maybe a half-lidded blink of disinterest.

"Nobody deserves anything." Nothing except rot and a slow, painful death, and maybe something quicker, if they were particularly lucky. Anything else was an illusion brought on by the idea that anything meant anything at all. It was all rot and ashes and dust. "'tis a birthright. You choose what you do with it. Some choose to be martyrs; some let their people choose."

That rapidfire flare of rage was cooled, now. "I choose the highest bidder. Very easy, when you come down to it."

"So there wasn't a duty or some obligation when becoming a senshi in the past. So then why do so many feel like it's their job as senshi now. They all feel so similar and behave so similar. It can't be a coincidence that so many fight for the same nonsense and think they are rightous." Shaking his head. The numbers, the odds, didn't add up. Compared to how many corrupt, and dark mirror, senshi there were so many more senshi who followed order...who all did and thoguht abotu the same. They might go about it in various ways but they all seemed to at least be in the same book.

"Was there any sort of expected things of senshi in the past? Or was it different per senshi and planet? " While some corrupt might have been a senshi for a while, serving order, and gained some past life memories he never had. He hadn't cared enough to visit his home planet aside from the one time. He reallt hadn't cared for that. That was a strange place to him and it wasn't his and had no connection to him now.

"I think I'm understanding a bit more now." Which meant that being in the Negaverse tied him down more. As an order senshi he could tel lthem all to ******** off and do as he pleased..as senshi were meant to, or so it seemed anyway. But the Negaverse was more biding, not that he minded as it was his choice, but perhapos that was how things really were. He just hadn't seen it till now.
