It hadn’t been long since Alastor last spoke with Lysithea; he’d been diligent in his preparations, and though he’d know she was going to reach out to him again, it was still sooner than he’d expected.
They’d planned to meet in the park again, somewhere out of the way but easy to find. Which was good, because Alastor was very good at being lost, and wasn’t even sure he was in the right place until he felt the energy signature of a White Moon Senshi approaching.
He was always on guard, especially when he was alone, but this area seemed safe enough–and Lysithea was in sight before he could anticipate anyone else. He raised a hand again, and smiled in polite greeting. She hadn’t given him much information in the text, but she didn’t look to be in a dour mood now so he was optimistic that she came with good news.
But, time would tell.
“Lysithea, it’s good to see you. How have you been?”

Lysithea broke into a smile when Alastor walked up and crossed the distance between the two of them, extending a hand. “It’s good to see you too, I’ve been very well, thank you for asking. How are things with you? Any new developments with your homeworld?”
Hopefully the situation hadn’t gotten worse, honestly she wanted to let him know everything that was going on with her own world but…it felt as though that would be nothing more than rubbing salt into a wound. Still, she did have some information for him. “I’ve been working on getting the court together again, and we’ll be having a small meeting soon enough, if you have anything you want me to let them know, please tell me! But, I think they’ll all be willing and eager to assist you with your troubles, just like I had hoped they would be.”
They were good people. They enjoyed helping…it was just how things were.

When she offered her hand, he shook it almost immediately. “Then, I am most fortunate to have met you. Pass along my gratitude, please. I haven’t had any developments on my world, but as of right now, that’s a good thing.”
It hadn’t gotten worse, so that was really all he could ask for.
He didn’t expect it to get any better until they could actually do something.
“If you want to give them warning, I have only the standard, ‘It’s dangerous’. My world is a bit cold, it's storming. If you’re sensitive to that, best to be prepared. Bring a jacket if you need. And lights. You can’t ever have enough lights. Soleiyu has been helping me with some larger ones. The Chaos on my world–it’s a shadow. It stretches to every corner it can reach. It cannot pierce the light. Usually. But the storms have gotten worse, and they have been enough to knock out some of my lighting. But, I’ve been using candles and torches. Soleiyu’s are much more effective. I can’t guarantee that the light will protect you, but it will help. Come with suspicion and caution in your heart. The Chaos will try to weaken you. It will try to pull you into the shadows. Just be aware of it and you already have the advantage against it. There will be others, I’ve found some who can help. Not another Court, but. I’ve been fortunate to meet others who want to offer aid, as well. It’ll help spread out some of the burden, I think. More corners to be protected. The Chaos is sneaky, shifty. I’ll be glad to know we aren’t leaving an opening for it somewhere.”

“I will, of course I will.” She nodded and withdrew her hand, frowning as he began to give warnings bout the chaos that infected his home. It…well, it all sounded rather horrible, to be honest, and by the time he was done, Lysithea’s brows were furrowed in concentration and worry. “I’m going to have to pass those warnings on. The one thing about my court…so many of us have been plagued by our own shadows, and I hope that will give us an edge on yours, let us know that it’s just shadows but, I’m afraid that some might get pulled under just due to their own past trauma…”
One thing Lysithea didn’t want to think about was that happening to herself. She would be strong, and would do her best to not let that happen, but Malus, she was worried for him, and Varuna, Ilse…all of them, honestly. Their hearts made them a good team, a good group to help people. To have empathy but…
It left them open for attacks too. For trickery. They.
It would be worth a discussion when she got them all together. “Numbers are important. Every bit you can do will help, Alastor, and I really…I really hope we’ll be successful!”

He contemplated her words for a moment but nodded. “Make sure they think about it carefully. I don’t want anyone’s weaknesses to be exploited.” Especially if they’d already come into contact with their own Chaos. He’d have rather thought it would give them some sort of resistance to it, not left them weakened or vulnerable, but…
The universe wasn’t always a kind enough place to allow such things.
“But, you seem to care about each other.” Her face lit up when she talked about them, and he had the distinct impression that she was both proud and protective of her Court. “...I can hope that it means you’re more aware of each other’s weaknesses and know how to circumvent that. If you have faith in them, I will, too. But, we’ll succeed.”
There was no doubt in his voice, either because he really believed that or he was just very convincing.
“I won’t rest until my world is spared. I’m going to give it my all. It’s not a matter of if, it’s just a matter of how. And if you’re helping me, that just helps answer that question, I think.”

Lysithea nodded. “Do we have a date set? Or any plans of when this might happen? I’m planning on meeting with everyone tomorrow to really make sure that we all mesh, but it would be good to have any information that you have just so they don’t think I don’t know what I’m talking about.”
Ah. There was one of her weaknesses there, wondering if she were good enough for this group. Doubting herself. Well, clearly she would have to work on it with a little more effort before they went to rescue Alastor’s world. “I hope that when it’s all over that you and I can become friends. I’d love to show you around my homeworld too, and I’d love to see yours when it’s free of chaos…I have birds now! They were there the last time I visited, beautiful creatures. I think you’d like them.”
If they both had something to look forward too. Trips to space that were for pleasure and not to destroy a threat of chaos…
Maybe that would help to better repel the shadows of Alastor.

“No date yet,” he admitted. “But. Soon. Within the next few weeks. I’ve got a few things left to sort out.”
He inhaled, and planted his hands on his hips as he considered. “But, I’ll let you know when I get closer. I won’t spring it on you and your Court without warning. I’m glad to hear about your homeworld. I don’t think I’ve ever been to Lysithea. I’d like to see it. I appreciate beautiful things. Even birds.”
They weren’t really his favorite, but she seemed excited, and maybe it was a little contagious.
He’d have been happy if he could have found anything else alive on his world. His standards had slipped pretty dramatically, but then–he hadn’t even seen a bug in–
Maybe years.
A long time. Longer than he wanted to think about.
“It sounds nice, Lysithea. Thank you."

“Thank you. You let me know and we’ll be there. I’m glad that we were able to meet, and I'm glad that I’ll be able to help you. I’ll let you go and enjoy the rest of your night, but know that there will be another five of us coming to help, and I’m hoping we’ll pack a good enough punch to do something good.”
Lysithea gave a smile that was a little shy, but still hopeful. “Have a good one, Alastor. I’ll see you soon, and don’t be a stranger. If I can ever do anything, just let me know, okay? Even if it’s just bake you some cookies because you had a bad day. Um…I just.” Want to be useful. Obviously.
“But, for real. I’m glad that we were able to meet.” She waved and sped into the night, already restructuring the internal notes she had been working on for the meeting tomorrow but.
This would be fine. It would all work out.
Nobody was alone.
