┏━━━━━━━━━┓ ＲＥＷＡＴＣＨ┗━━━━━━━━━┛ Ｙears ago when Fairy Tail only had about 3 subbed episodes - I quickly became hooked. The day a new episode dropped I was on it and then... then the hiatus happened. Since then I have just not been able to get back into it but I am determined this time to catch up. Ｔhis was brought on because one of my besties is super into One Piece and has been trying to get me to watch it for about 10 years. About 8 years ago I did attempt this, got all the way to the introduction of Brooke and then I forgot about it, then forgot where I was and then I just gave up. This same friend has told me that I now need to get my arse into gear and watch because the creator has announced that the end is coming and he wants me to be up-to-speed for the day the final episode airs and as this is such a big undertaking I need to start now. Ｓo to keep myself motivated and to never forget where I am I decided to make this thread for myself. My one-person anime party of these two animes but feel free to discuss them with me here as I occasionally post my thoughts on these two animes as I watch. I am curious to see how my opinion/character likes will be this time round now I'm much: older/bitter/less-patient rofl ┏━━━━━━━━━┓

┗━━━━━━━━━┛ ❶ So I have finished the "Intro" story where they defeat Lullaby. I remember when I first watched this I was so in awe with Erza and had to get my best Judy to watch this too because I knew they would live for Erza - I was correct and to this day they still do. I just cannot stop smiling, seeing all the members of the guild with their minor appearances so far knowing what is to come. I always loved Gramps and Mirajane from the jump. But I am reminded how there is not one member of the guild I dislike. Even the "aholes" of the guild are still so endearing - or so I thought. But now I just need to wait for my baby - Juvia - to be introduced.

Oh god. A continuity error I see.
Mirajane mentions WICKED early there are 5 people in the guild who are S-Class Wizards. I remember because I sent a picture to my pal being like "foreshadowing to her beauty".
But there are 6.
When she mentions 5 she is referring to: The Master. Herself. Laxus, Mystogan and Erza.... but there is Gildarts. So maybe it's fair to think at this point in the story - early days - that Cana probably did not have a father that was actually known of - or the creators probably hadn't had anything on it. Or if they did, they maybe didn't think S Class? Unless I am missing something.

God - I forgot how good the flow of arcs are here - and how they don't miss a beat. I'm about to finish the Tower of Heaven Arc but for me if feels as if the end of this episode really is the end of the "Intro" Arc. Maybe because when I first watched Fairy Tail it was when this episode was realised this was going to be an obsession and for years it was.
I also did not post last night after seeing the episode where Lucy gets Loki - I forgot how beautiful it is. I CRIED LIKE A MUTHA'FUH'HER. However I was reminded - from memory - that there isn't much about lucys story for a while - and god. I wanted more. Maybe this is why I didn't like her on my first watch through but this time. This time I think I finally get why Lucy is alright.

┗━━━━━━━━━┛ So bro-beans came over and we watched more one Piece and two things of note really stuck out to me. 1) I hated Usopp in the past - from the moment he was animated onto my screen my blood would boil - ANYONE BUT USOPP! I didn't find him funny or anything - but this time, omg, is he actually the best? I could not stop laughing. I think I hated him because I think out of all of them - I'm probably like him - little scaredy cat who would happily run away but when I'm around strong people I feel safe around, I might be a little more "fufufufufu~ for I am the best" I relate. DUDE'S RELATABLE. But that still makes me sad. Who wants to be Usopp?  2) Saaaaannnnnjjji emotion_kirakira I was so in love with him when I was younger - sooooo badly. I had a friend that even looked like them redface (I guess basically my first love? who ended up being my biggest homie) but over the past few years everyone lost contact with them (they had a falling out with the bro-beams I'm watching it with - its a whole unrelated thing) ANYWAYS. YES. I was just filled with so much love, nostalgia, feelings, it felt a little over-whelming. And then I also realised my fav characters personality wise wise for both One Piece and Fairy Tail - they are the same vibe for sure. Animated bulging heart eyes and crazy over the top affections to people.

Wendy's guild lore - damn. Fairy Tail is just great for throwing down them emotional "right in the heart" moments. I cried. Like the little b***h I am heart

┗━━━━━━━━━┛ So before I started my rewatch of this I asked myself if I would skip the Edolas arc or what - I just don't have the fondest memories of it - thinking it dragged hard.
However the fact I have rewatched so much is a short period of time has made me really appreciate how different the story feels when you aren't having to wait week-to-week for a new episode, when the episode release date was delayed or changing, it took me out of it. But I think.... I will watch it. Or attempt to. If I find it dragging I might skip to the end.... we shall see

ColorHerStrange I need to watch Fairy Tail. I had a friend who was obsessed with that anime. However, I am excited to see your journey through One Piece. Zoro has remained my favorite from start to where I'm at (175). lol I was very obsessed with it too - I even got the Logo Tattoo'd on me. SORRY NOT SORRY. It's not the best but ama get it touched up one day to enhance it's beauty. With One Piece I kinda need to wait for my pals - but when I've blasted through Fairy Tail because they haven't made time for One Piece - I'm gonna start watching without them razz I'm excited for it and also dreading it because I have been told the filler arc can take you out of it D: edit: i like zoro but I still cannot get over the 3 swords. The one in his mouth, then almost never animate it... so when he's attacking you can see people only get hit with 2 of the swords and logistically I'm like "that must be so inconvenient to carry considering how many times he doesn't hit with it. And then if he does! I SWEAR one of his side swords don't get animated. xD But I am on early days, what 20 years ago, so maybe thats asking for a bit much so I hope newer episodes correct this animation movement mistake razz

She was the youngest of that rank... but if she mentionned her, it was def a continuity error, Gildarts is not often w the guild tho but I remember he was mentionned early as one of the most powerful mages from there.

As for the three swords styles, I don't remember well Zoro attacks but... it certainly is shown the 3rd sword for major attacks I think- I am still early on - so it is most likely due to animation capabilities because a lot isn't animated much at the beginning, finding long stretched of dialogue over still images. So I'm going to assume technology levels at the time and assume it gets better with age. TBH, Its something to watch with my bro's so I don't mind - I doubt I'd watch it on my own much because of all the filler.... but when I do finish Fairy Tail.... what then?! edit: oh the tattoo! It's pretttty high up my leg but I'll try get a decent pic - it's not that great
