Step by step guide for setting up a Character.

I advise checking out the Character Creation thread first, and then checking out Character Logs that other people have posted in the Character Logs sub-forum.

You will start your journey by making a Character Log, this requires you to fill out a few posts worth of data for who you are going to be in this roleplaying guild. It is divided into;
-Active Stats, a section for quickly assessing information that is necessary for interactions with features and members of this guild.
-Character Log, this contains the core details and stats of who you are in this guild.
-Abilities, these are special actions you can take depending on how you develop your Character and what you unlock. These typically have large costs or cooldowns.
-Equipment, Inventory and Soul Yggdrasil Coin(SYC), you can wear Equipment, which is stored among other items in your Inventory and these sort of things among other services and events require the spending of Soul Yggdrasil Coin aka (SYC).
-Associated NPCs, Property/Buildings, Guild, Badges, and Artifacts , these are all special things you will develop depending on how you develop your characters and what sort of things you get your character involved with. These things all have their own unique threads and posts that are to be linked back to your Character Log.
- Paths and Quests, You must choose up to 3 Paths to start your character, which provide you additional Quests that you must complete to make progress on your Path.

1. Go over to the Character Log part of the forum.

Create a new thread titled "Your Character Name Character Log" When making this thread, be sure to set the Post Action to "Random Number" and have that random number be generated between 0 and 21. This is important that you do this now, as post actions cannot be added from the post edit feature.




2. Make 5 more posts in this thread, so that including the original post you have 6 posts in your Character Log thread.

Label them in this order.
1. Active Stats
2. Character Log
3. Equipment, Inventory and Soul Yggdrasil Coin(SYC)
4. Associated NPCs, Property/Buildings, Guild, Badges, and Artifacts
5. Completed Paths and Quests Log
6. Active Paths and Quests Log


3. Copy these templates on to your posts. You may adjust the look of the templates as long as all of the information is there and in the same order.


4. Begin filling out the Character Sheet post.

Name - Put your character's name here. Names have no effect on gameplay mechanics. If you have nicknames on top of your name, please create a "Nickname: section underneath this one.

Age - Put your characters age here. Age has no effect on gameplay mechanics. You are not required to reveal your characters age.

Gender - Put your characters gender here. Not required to be revealed. Has no effect on gameplay mechanics.

Title(s) - Leave this section empty or do not include it. Title(s) are for official purposes only.

Base Stats - All Base Stats start out at 0. At Character Creation you get 13 Base Stat Points to allocate into Stats. A Base Stat can only be raised to 3 via the Base Stat Points you get at Character Creation. You must allocate these Base Stat Points at Character Creation by putting the value into this Base Stats section of your Character Sheet.

Arcana - Take the number you randomly generated earlier, this number corresponds with the Arcana of the matching number. The list of Arcanas is listed out in the Character Creation thread. Your Arcana provides you an Active Stat Bonus, be sure to write down what that bonus is here.

Race Type - You must choose either Humanoid, Demi-Human or Heteromorph. Look at the Race Type section of the Character Creation thread for more information on Race Types. What you choose here will determine which Class Levels or Race Levels you start your Character with.

Power Origin - Come up with what you want your Power Origin to be. You have to give it a name and a description. Your Power Origin comes with Bonus Stats that you get to decide on, following one of the following formats;
•(+1 one Stat)
•(+2 one Stat, - 1 one Stat)
•(+1 two Stats, - 1 one Stat)
•(+1 three Stats, - 1 two different Stats)

Class and Race Levels - Depending on which Race Type you selected for your Character you will start with one Level in a Class or a Race.
You can find available Classes or Races in the Class and Race Database sub-forum. If you wish to create a new Class or Race for your Character, please visit the New Class and Race Creation Guide thread.

Unspent Class and Race Level Points - If you do not decide on a Class or Race to start with, put a value of 1 here. If you are a Demi-Human or Heteromorph you still must spend this first Class and Race Level Point on a Race Level before picking any Class Levels. Otherwise if you did spend the Class or Race Level Point, put a value of 0 here.

Profession Levels - Professions are similar to Races and Classes. Characters start with one Profession Level Point. Spend that point on a Profession from the Profession List on the Profession Guide thread.

Unspent Profession Level Points - If you do not choose a Profession at Character Creation, put a value of 1 in this field. You can spend this Profession Level Point any time in the future. Otherwise if you did pick a Profession Level at Character creation, put a value of 0 here.

Origin - Put a brief description of the location that your Character originated from.

Backstory - Here you can explain your Character and their life and how they got up to this point. You can be as brief or detailed as you like.

5. You will now go back to the first post on your Character Log, the one for Active Stats. This part of the guide will go over each step of the form.

Character Approved? - This section is for whether your Character Log has been approved by the Guild Captain(Great Neko Kami). Your Character Log has to be approved and the User Agreement needs to be agreed to before making any rolls involving Active Stats. You will be sending a Character Log Approval Request via Private Message at the end of this guide.

Level - Your Character is starting at Level 1, so put a 1 here.

Inventory Size Bonus - This increases the amount of Inventory Slots you have. You won't have any at Character Creation so put a 0 here.

Active Core Stats - This is the combination of all of your Base Stats with all of their associated Active Stat Bonuses. You should have some at Character Creation from your Power Origin, and possibly from your Arcana.

Attack Manifest Bonus - If you have obtained one of the types of Attack Manifest Bonus from anywhere, you would put them here.

Defense Manifest Bonus - If you have obtained one of the types of Defense Manifest Bonus from anywhere, you would put them here.

Affinities - If you have obtained one of the types of Affinity Bonuses from anywhere, you would put them here.

Active Profession Levels - This is the combination of your Profession Levels and your Active Profession Level Bonuses. If you spent the Profession Level Point you obtained at Character Creation, you would list the Level 1 Profession here
Example: Active Blacksmithing Level: 1

6. The rest of the posts on your Character Log do not need to be altered from the provided template. You may now submit a Private Message to the Guild Captain(Great Neko Kami) a message with [Character Log Approval Request] in the title. You now have access to all features of Realms of Soul Yggdrasil, except you cannot make Dice Rolls until your Character Log is approved. Your Character Log must reach a certain benchmark of properly recorded information in order to be approved. This required information is;
- Name
- Arcana
- Sunsign
- Race Type
- Base Stats and 13 Base Stat Points used
- Power Origin
- All Active Stats properly listed
- Race and Class Level Points properly managed
- Profession Level Points properly managed.

In order to get your Character Log approved, you must also agree to the User Agreement by replying "I agree".
