Emily led Juniper to the diner that was a few blocks away, doing what she had promised and buying him dinner while she better outlined his new responsibilities within the Negaverse. When the two made their way to a table and sat down, she slid over a small planner. “I’ve outlined a few times and days that we can get together to train, and some where I’m going to send my daughter or her girlfriend to patrol with you. I think you’ll do better with someone with you for at least the first few times, until you get used to everything.”
It would get Xenia and Wavellite used to assisting someone too, so it was good all around, honestly.
She smiled at the waitress who seemed somewhat pleased, though somewhat bored but took their order, and when she had gone again, her attention was back on the boy who was her responsibility. “Tell me, Juniper, do you have any questions? I know I’ve just been pushing a lot of information on you, but I just want you to be prepared.”
…and he was her first recruit, after all. Even if she didn’t do the deed herself. He was hers, and she would see that he was taken care of, no matter what.

Juniper took the planner from her as she slid it across the table. He'd have to double check his calendar at home to see what he had, but so far the dates looked good. Nothing was going to interfere with anything else.
"I guess... like, how do I keep this from my sister? Like how do I explain the random hours?" What if he got hurt. What if she got involved. What was he suppose to do? "I mean, yeah, it's a lot and I guess I'm kinda overwhelmed... But I just don't know where to start or what to start with." It was all kind of sinking in at once that he'd gotten involved in something a little over his head.
"I guess... I should start with who to side with, and who to avoid... Right?"

“That definitely does help, yes.” Emily laughed softly and shook her head. “But like I said, we’ll be doing this in pairs for a while until you’re comfortable with it, but…generally, those you want to side with feel like I do. They’ll feel almost comforting, where as those you’ll want to avoid or use your magic on normally wear lighter colors and feel…”
She tapped a finger against her chin. “Sickly sweet is how I always think of it. You know how corn syrup looks? Just thick and…I don’t know. It’s not a good feeling, and you’ll know it the moment you feel one, I’m sure.”
As for his sister…well.
“Is she very much one who enjoys being in your business? We can always recruit her to the cause too, if you think that would be easier on you. Or we can work on something else. Do you live at home with her? But, you’re eighteen, are you not? You’re legally an adult and can do what you will. And if you’re going to be starting university…well, most people that age keep strange hours.”

Juniper made a face. He wondered vaguely if that's what they really felt like, but he supposed only time would truly tell. "I guess I'll experience it eventually but I think I get what you mean." "I don't know if it's so much 'being in my business' as it is, she's basically the one that raised me. Our parent's aren't exactly the best. Be that with us, or each other. I don't want to say they're not exactly in the picture but... " Juni waved a hand. "You get the idea." Juni nodded. "She moved out when she turned eighteen and I would just visit. It slowly turned into moving my things bit by bit over there till we realized our parent's just... didn't really care. So I've been there ever since." I does get awkward at times, and he did have to crawl back to his parents for somethings but for the most part it all worked out. The teen huffed slightly. "I mean, recruiting might be an option down the road but I don't know if you feel like dealing with her trying to mother hen the whole Negaverse... Plus you have a point, University students do tend to keep weird hours, even more so if they're juggling a job on top of that." And if this really was a chance to get out from under his sister's mothering... He didn't exactly want to get rid of it straight out of the gate.

“Mother hens are better than some of the types we get, I’ll keep my eye on her if you’d like me to, and if I think she’ll be a good asset, we can figure that out down the road a bit. If you need excuses, you can always visit the library where I work, it’s the South Branch library, and I’m there Monday through Friday.”
Drawing out a small pad of paper from her purse, Emily scribbled down her phone number, and that of Fawn and Marquette as well. “The top one is my number, the second is that of my daughter, Fawn and the third is Marquette, I’m going to have both of them reaching out to you for some training and patrols, but it would be good for you all to get used to one another beforehand, I think. At the very least it will get you some friends your own age and that could be another layer of cover for you if you need it.”
She glanced towards the kitchen and saw that their waitress was on her way back, a tray filled with their food in her hands. “Don’t hesitate to reach out to me, no matter what time of day. I’m here for you, Juniper. Always.”
That was how a General should be, after all.

"I don't know... Let me think about it and get back to you on if we should or not." Maybe he was just making a mounting out of a molehill... For all he knew, Thorn wouldn't question anything. Juni took the paper, glancing at the numbers... "And.. You said Marquette was...? Your daughter's friend??" He nodded slightly, pocketing the paper. "So this might be a silly question but, I guess I should ask it anyway. Is there... like anyone on 'our side' that I should avoid? Like, people to just not work with, that just aren't worth the trouble?" If he was suppose to keep his distance from someone, Juni wanted know now before he did something he shouldn't have. "I'll do my best to remember that." He said softly.
