Zasha 1 She was in trouble. She had sneakily followed her brother to Jauhar, using the skills she had naturaly inherited from her mother. She had done so well that her brother had no idea that she was here. More was the pity as an Alkidike patrol had picked her up handily where she had been nearly lost.
The jungle was really hard to navigate in she had found.
They deposited her at the village under guard until they could figure out why a very strange hybrid with just enough blood to give her alk eyebrows had shown up in their forest uninvited and unannounced.

She had been repairing one of her favorite skirts when a tumult of noise drew her outside of her parents dwelling. What was going on?
She put her stuff down and wondered who was here or what had been brought from the jungle, usually they were the only reasons for excess noise.
She craned her neck and saw a someone she had not expected, someone who was such a mix of races that they could never be placed into only one box.
She drifted closer.

Her face was crinkled up into a snarl. How dare they manhandle her! She had been just fine getting herself lost thank you very much!
"Let me go. I'm fine, I'm here with my brother. Looks almost just like me except he has silver eyes. Lemme go!"
The alk nearest to her gave her a withering look before pointing at a strange looking alk. "You girl, take this one somewhere she won't but the sisters but will be safe." She shoved Zasha over.

Her eyes widened as the new girl was unceremoniously placed in her care. She supposed that it may be because she herself was a little bit different.
"Sorry about them." She whispered to the girl who seemed entirely uncharmed by the sisters hosipitality.
"They won't do much so long as you are not here for nefarious reasons." Poor thing was probably a victim of circumstance.
"Come I'll make you some tea." She had been picked up by some of the rougher sisters.

She blinked up at her new keeper. Hecking tall but she didn't look to be that much older than Zasha herself. However, there were marked differences between her teakeeper and the rest of the alks present. She was gray skinned with the wrong colored hair. This must be one of those brand new hybrids.
Zasha stared for a moment, but she didn't care if it was rude, it was interesting to see someone as unique as herself for a change.
"Oh I er, thank you. My name is Zasha I was just a bit lost. But they needn't be so rude!"

Having no better place to go, she took the girl home and indeed made tea. She hoped that it would sooth the little earthlings ruffled feathers.
"If you don't mind me asking, what races are you a mix of, I have not seen all of your traits before, especially on one person." Though judging from the familiar eyebrows there was a speck of alk in there somewhere. How fascinating!
Sao handed the girl a cup and sat with one leg crossed over the other. "Tell me! I never get to go anywhere interesting and interesting people hardly visit!"

Away from the hostiles, Zasha let her feathers settle back where they usually were with a little preening to make sure her hair was doing what she wanted it to.
She accepted her tea gratefully and was delighted at the exquisite flavor. Hmm they had a different kind here, must be a local plant that loved Jauhar.
"Well, I am definitely a thorough mix. Mom is Oban and Leaf and Dad is Ice, Alk and Shifter."
She was always super proud about this fact. She was five things rolled into one, more bang for your buck and travel sized too boot.

"Fascinating! You may have noticed but I am different too, but in a different way. There are not many of us yet, but I do hope that there will be more and that they have an easier time of it than I. In such a big society, being new isn't always a wonderful thing."
She had the muscles used in defense to prove it, she had become stronger than those threatening her so they left her alone now. It made her hesitant to pick a career where she would have to work with some of her sisters but there was one alternative. She could become a smith, be proficient with all weapons and never have to worry about getting one in the back on assignment.

Zasha could understand that, her family was hecking scary as it was so her direct blood relatives didn't have to deal with bullying as much, but Siofra had gone through that, for the people to be trounced by the rest of the family when they found out who it was.
She was well on her way to being nigh untouchable if she had her way with her magic training. People wouldn't risk getting hit by lightning or a fireball.
"Elaria and alkidike, that is so cool. Neat that Aisha can now do that."

"Isn't it though? I wonder when the other trees will catch up, Aisha is so much older after all."
It was also fascinating to her how earthlings had kids without a tree...and males involved. No one had quite told her the details yet, but she supposed that talk would come at some point when she was older and asked about it.
Older when she ceased becoming a prentice and actually had to chose a life path. Gah, why was it so hard?

Zasha 6
She finally relaxed some as they went outside to enjoy the light of day. A few sisters gave her stick eye as they passed and it was all Zasha could do to keep a straight face.
"How long do I have to stay?" Not that she minded her new companion but well, she was never going to find Iexa now. He was probably miles deeper doing interesting beast charming things and she was here, off schedule and drinking..tea.

Sao looked at her new friend with concern. Certainly the smallish girl had a life to get back too. "Let me go ask an elder for you, if we leave it up to the warriors it might not get through the right channels quickly enough, their priorities are well different and they might see keeping you contained as an added security measure, but well, I don't think you are up to no good and were just in the wrong place at the wrong time."
The girl hadn't been hostile or shifty...just a bit frustrated really.
"I'll be right back."

She was ashamed to say that she retreated back inside until her new friend came back. Everyone else was just so tall and not always welcoming looking, she supposed that they all might have woke up on the wrong side of the hammock this morning but wasn't willing to take the chance that they wanted to take out their frustration on her. She wasn't in her element and was currently ill equiped to deal with people with a much longer reach than she. All the more reason to practice magic more which was a handy long range backup system for when she was knifeless.

Sao came back with good news. Zasha could go, Sao could act as an escort. She had been right and the pertinant information had not penetrated to the elders quick enough and that was what caused the delay.
"Pack up your stuff Zasha we are free to go, I'll take you back to a place where you won't be lost anymore. Next time you come through this way let me know and I can help you out."
She had enjoyed her time greatly with someone as different as she.

Zasha 8 She was so excited and delighted that Sao was the one assigned to bring her back to civilization. She couldn’t wait to tell her Father about her adventure, he had the alk blood, even if just a quarter. “I really appreciate that. Thank you, samesies for Matori and Oba, I know both of them pretty well.”
